George A. Romero's Resident Evil
A downloadable book
Chris Redfield has lived his entire life on the outskirts of Raccoon City, Pennsylvania. He knows it like the back of his hand. So, when a series of grisly murders herald the arrival of a crack team of military commandos, he can't help but get involved, following them into the mysterious Spencer Mansion for some answers.
It isn't long before a sinister corporate agenda is unveiled, as the mansion's walls contain a wealth of deadly secrets. From sadistic traps to mind-bending puzzles to horrifying monsters that have been born and bred solely to kill; if the mansion's latest occupants want to live to see tomorrow, they're going to have to face the nightmare together.

It's the ultimate what-if. Most Resident Evil fans know that horror maestro and "Godfather of the Dead" George A. Romero wrote a screenplay for an adaptation of the first game that went unproduced.
You can read one of its many drafts, it's gotten an unofficial comic book adaptation, it's the subject of an upcoming documentary, and now I've written an unofficial novelization for it. Delve into one of the biggest what-could-have-beens in survival horror history!
Note: The cover uses free stock images from Henrik L. and Benjamin Lehman.
