The Korea Waste Association will make utmost efforts to foster the waste industry, the new growth engine leading the low-carbon, green growth in Korea, into a green, resource recirculation industry.

The waste industry in Korea is rapidly growing year after year. According to the Report on the Environment Industry Survey, the waste market worth 5.3 trillion KRW in 2004 grew at a pace of 16 percent per annum to 9.6 trillion KRW in 2008, indicating that the prospects of the industry is very promising. To further develop the waste industry, the Association promotes and supports resource recirculation policies of the government, provides a wide range of information and education on wastes, performs technical consulting services, and administers support to attract investment. Furthermore, the Association makes policy suggestions to the government based on the opinions it collects from local governments, other associations, organizations, and companies. It also provides opportunities for relevant parties to exchange information, and it strives to find solutions for common issues and challenges of the industry. With expertise and organized network, the Association will continue to do all it can further strengthen and bolster the waste industry. Thank you.
