YiffyToys.de (formerly known as Furryshop.de) is an German online adult shop for European furries.

History[edit]

Starting on the 3 February 2006 under the name of FurryShop.de, the site was quickly renamed to Yiffytoys.de because it was generally seen as unfavorable to have the term "Furry" in the name of an adult shop.

About two months after the shop was established it started a "Behind The Scenes"-blog to reveal some of its inner workings.

A major rebuild in April 2006 added support for not just German, but French and English, as well as the Euro, US Dollar, British Pound Sterling, and access via IPv6. A number of French furs volunteered the French translations. The cute foxes on the website were commissioned from German furry artist, TaniDaReal.

In June 2006 a conventions calendar was created, so people could see when and where a personal pickup was possible as opposed to international shipping. The first such convention was Mephit Mini Con 9.

In February 2008 Suran applied for the German and US trademark for the name of "YiffyToys" after a short incident with a typosquatter.

In April 2008, in the wake of the decline of the dollar, a second shop for U.S. and Canadian customers only was founded[1]. Orders are shipped directly from a US distributor instead of the company's European stock.

In July 2008 the German trademark "YiffyToys" was granted, followed by the corresponding U.S. trademark in September 2008 (opposition ended 2008-12-02).

In August 2008 the shop began selling not only the animal-dildos from Furrystyle but also from TSX-Toys[2].

In September 2008 the shop began also selling the dragon-dildos of Bad Dragon[3]

In November 2008 the shop began also selling the silicone-toys of Zetacreations[4].

In January 2009 live-cast dildos where added to the portfolio[5]. It now features all major brands of animal-dildos.

In February 2009 US.yiffytoys.de has been renamed to YiffyToys.us .

In March 2010 YiffyToys added Elypse Art and thus the last manufacturer of animal-dildos to it´s portfolio.

December 2011 YiffyToys aquired the manufacturer furrystyle.

Products[edit]

deep down

The site was the official European distributor of furry adult products from Furrystyle (including their animal-shaped dildos such as the famous K9,) and later aquired that brand and the production of all models.
In addition to the Furrystyle-products the animal-dildos from TSX-toys, silicone-toys from Zetacreations, dragon-dildos from Bad Dragon, inflatable canine dildos from Elypse art and live-casts from exotic-erotics are sold there.

Apart from the dildos other products that are of interest to certain parts of the community, such as Bovi-Vet, the CumLube of Bad Dragon or bondage-gear are sold as well.

artistic

It also carries other wares, such as mousepads, cups and collectors-cards with adult themes and the Furoticon card games. YiffyToys website lists a “Pornfolio”, but it is only available for purchase at conventions[6] Pornfolio not offered online for legal reasons.

Principles[edit]

The shop never sold any products that include phantalates as softeners and removed products that showed inferior quality from its portfolio.

While selling a limited list of print-items the portfolio stays fixated on adult toys and is not expanded to unrelated items like print-publications, plushies or convention/fursuit-supplies.

Public presence[edit]

Conventions[edit]

YiffyToys is represented at several large European conventions, including

as well as multiple smaller furmeets like

This allows potential customers to see the various products first hand and possibly buy them without the shipping costs or customs fees involved in small-scale overseas imports.

There is a public calendar detailing the places where they can be met.

At Eurofurence 13 YiffyToys experimented with an order terminal on the table in the Dealers Den where people could arrange for items to be delivered to their room at given times, either for purchase or examination. This trial was not continued, as it was found that people would often not be in their room at the appointed time. However, the capability to accept credit cards, PayPal and United Transfer using the terminal was subsequently offered at conventions where a network or cellphone connection could be made.

Additional US shop[edit]

A second-shop at yiffytoys.us sells only to US and Canadian customers, shipping directly from the US, to stay independent of Euro/US Dollar exchange rates. It is not a complete replacement for the main shop, as you can find different items there. Instead it is but an additional offer to this group of furs.

In 2013 the US shop was closed down and integrated back into the main shop.

Trademark registration[edit]

Between February and March 2008 the recently registred typosquatter-domain yiffy-toys.de had to be transfered Suran as the owner of the then already existing domain yiffytoys.de.

In this time the (German) trademark on the name "YiffyToys"®[7] was applied for and has been entered into the trademark-register as of 2008-07.

An additional US-trademark was registred later in 2008 [8].

Blog[edit]

There is a blog and a [plus.google.com/ YiffyToys-de Google page] about what is going on "behind the scenes".

A newsletter used to summarize these quarterly in the early years but has been discontinued.
