Pup gear is a type of apparel and accessories used in pup play, which originates in the gay leather subculture. The most common kind of pup gear is a pup hood, normally canine, which is usually made of materials such as leather or neoprene.
Pup gear and furry[edit]
Though pup play is considered distinct from the furry subculture, pup hoods are sometimes used as a low-cost substitute for a fursuit head.[1]
Due to pup hoods’ origins as fetish apparel, their use may not be allowed at certain furry events.[2]
