Hypertrophilia, also known as hypersexuality (not to be confused with hypersexuality as a psychiatric term), as a furry paraphilia term, is a furspeech word used to describe some (especially macrophilic) people's attraction -- emotionally and/or sexually -- to hyper-endowed characters, or characters represented in any medium with over-exaggerated (i.e. impractically-large) erogenous zones or sexual characteristics.
It is not exclusively a furry phenomenon, although it seems much more open and prevalent within the fandom than outside it.
Biology[edit]
Hyper-endowed (or hyper-sexed) furs have massively exaggerated sexual characteristics, such as penises or breasts that are equal to or larger than their entire body size, or, if hermaphroditic, both. These details can and often are also combined with hugely-exaggerated muscles or an enormous tail, feet, or paws. Such characters are often referred to as hyperfurs. They are distinct from plain macro characters (a fantasy giant whose whole body is proportionally larger), or inflatable characters, although there is a significant overlap between the three.
Artists and sites[edit]
One particlarly notable hyperfur artist was the late Doug Winger; indeed, a character endowed with extremely exaggerated sexual organs is sometimes said to have been Wingerized. Other well-known hyperfur artists include Gideon Hoss, NuDog, Thunderpaws, Lunarwolf MoonPhaser, Kjartan Arnorsson, Sephiroth Ebonblade, and the late StupidGit and Stellos among numerous others.
The Mark Stretch Gallery Of The Unusual (or MSGOTU) features a large archive of art and stories depicting truly extreme hyper-endowed characters (primarily though not entirely female).
