Equine
From WikiFur, the furry encyclopedia.
Equine is the collective name for species of the genus Equus, including horses, donkeys, zebras, onagers, kiangs and their various hybrids. A famous now extinct species was the quagga.
Systematics[edit]
Equus is the only surviving genus of the family Equidae, one of the families of the order Perissodactyla, part of the superorder Ungulate. The close relation between the species allows for interbreeding, the result of which are mules, hinnies, zorses, and zonkeys, for example. These are usually sterile because of the different number of chromosomes.
