Additional analysis

[edit]

I wish to state that Ryulong's dedication to the project is unbelievable! 11 000 edits in about six months is a magnificient rate. Most of his edits too are of high quality. Although some of them are questionable, every user makes a mistake. I wish to remind those taking part in this RfA, should note that this is not RfB! (which requires a much higher standard and dedication in contributing to Wikipedia) --Siva1979Talk to me 03:37, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The volume of the edits may be part of the problem. It is much faster to mark an edit summary "rvv" than help another user and leave an accurate edit summary. IMO, the nom needs to slow down and spend more time on each edit he makes. FloNight talk 14:50, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A valid point that I hope the nom takes to heart. But I find his explanation of the Emory affair to be acceptable, and no one's perfect, so I have decided to support in the end. Themindset 20:21, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sorry

[edit]

I have no idea who this person is, only that they seem to be spamming AOL talk pages totally at random with messages about power rangers and power rangers related topics. Please make him stop doing that, i really don't think he understands what a dynamic ip is, and while im sure some where out there, some person on AOL expressed interest in Ryulong's TV viewing habits, but it wasn't me, and it probably wasn't any one else. please make it stop, i don't want to know anything else about a childrens TV show from the mid 90s. and im sure im speaking for the rest of my internet service provider when i say this--152.163.100.5 03:38, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What the heck are you talking about? Ryūlóng 03:39, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Stop leaving messages on shared talk pages about power rangers, please--152.163.100.5 03:43, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea what you are talking about. If you are referring to warnings about vandalism to the pages, then my messages are correct. I do not know how you got here, but I do not think you are in the right place. Ryūlóng 03:44, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know where here is, it's request to make someone obsessed with a bad mid 90s childrens show a sysops, if I'm in the wrong place please tell me, if not, please, I just want to be able to load a talk page without seeing some strange lecture about power rangers coming from you--152.163.100.5 03:46, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That has nothing to do with my adminship. There are admins who have interests that are the same as mine, and there are admins who have even stranger interests. Ryūlóng 03:48, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but stop holding unregistered users at gunpoint and forcing us to read nonsense about power rangers that you leave at random on a distrurbing number of AOL talk pages, there probably isn't a single person on AOL who hasn't loaded a talk page only to see you lecturing them about power rangers--152.163.100.5 03:50, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not doing any such thing. Who directed you to this RFA discussion? Ryūlóng 03:51, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You directed me to this RFA (this isn't a checkuser page, so i have no idea what you mean by RFCU), it's in your recent changes, and your strange lectures are littered at random all over AOL talk pages, since they're followed by your signature (the result of typing ~~~~ after your post) you're not exactly a hard person to find--152.163.100.5 03:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have never left any such messages on any AOL IP talk pages. Unless you can link to an exact situation where I have left such a "lecture", please cease and decist. Ryūlóng 03:57, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cease and decist? you're making a joke?--152.163.100.5 04:00, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not making any joke. Unless you have proof of such a situation, it's all slander. Give me a link to any user talk page where you feel I have done such an act that you are describing. Ryūlóng 04:01, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only way I can track down a specific AOL talk is by going through your recent edits, and filtering for talk page edits. give me a momment. If you'd like to make more legal threats in the mean time, go ahead--152.163.100.5 04:02, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are no legal threats. I am stating the truth. You are stating I have done something, and I have not done such a thing. That is slander. And do not cite a talk page. Cite an AOL IP's User talk page. Ryūlóng 04:03, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok, here's some AOL talk page spam about pokeman, same difference, in the mean time, please accuse me of slander some more, I'm sure there's a court just waiting to hear this case ... "Your honor, some person accused me of making obtuse posts on the internet.....slander!" I'll keep looking for more, you can use the time to come up with some more personal attacks--152.163.100.5 04:07, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Here where you give a nice random lecture to (..all of AOL..) User talk:64.12.117.7, about how their spelling of (obscure power rangers term) is not up to date, and thus considered vandalism....--152.163.100.5 04:10, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Those are both calm explanations of why what the users were doing was wrong. If both continued to edit from the same IP on the same page article, I figured that he would be able to receive my message. Ryūlóng 04:11, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"If both continued to edit from the same IP" -- back to the origional problem, you have no idea what a dynamic IP is, yet you want to be in a position where you could apply a block over such a range--152.163.100.5 04:14, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Um, there's nothing wrong with that. I warned that page too. alphaChimp laudare 04:12, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He didn't warn it, he lectured it, and expects, apparently, joe random AOL ip to know what he's talking about becuase he doesn't understand what a dynamic ip is--152.163.100.5 04:14, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The point, Ryulong is probably dealing with one single person with an equally strange obsession with mid 90s childrens TV shows, and yet has responded so strangly that it's made virtually everyone using the same ISP a victim of his dull lectures about pokemon fansites, power rangers names, etc... I can't even find most of them, it's not like I have any control over which talk page i get, but i get this nonsense often enough to know it exists--152.163.100.5 04:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Look, I'm sorry i even brought it up, leave as many obscure lectures and threats about slander as you want to, AOL talks are useless anyway. I'm going to go and hit my 'new messages' bar a few dozen times, it's better than Special:Random, more variety that way. If I see your name, I'll just hit 'new messages' again and keep moving--152.163.100.5 04:23, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
