- Orphaned, Low Quality, no foreseeable use. -FASTILY (TALK) 04:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I would love to assume good faith here but "Orphaned, Low Quality, no foreseeable use" is 100% incorrect for this and the other images nominated. It is a hi-res gif of 157 KB image, it appears in the references for the linked article with url=Media:xxxx.gif link so it is not orphaned, and obviously has a use since it is already used in the article. I don't thing any investigation has been done, this is just a rote addition of a delete template to each of the images previously listed for deletion in a dodgy fashion that was found to be inadequate. Please also come to my talk page where more articles in the public domain are being tagged for deletion in a rote manner because the source listed as "New York Times on March 30, 1937" is being rejected as inadequate. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 10:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep The quality level is high enough to read it once you click on it and make it larger. And this gives a historical account of an event mentioned in an article. Dream Focus 16:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will be back in Chicago in two weeks to try and get a better photo of him, and I will take better photos of some of his work, I don't have a good macro lens so I had to take a wide shot and just crop out the plate and cups. - Peek at the article on Poe, there is a link to the image already. The problem is that images only link back if they are displayed, this one appears in the references section so it does not display. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 17:36, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll point out that if you substituted {{cite news}} and then replaced http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Poe_1907_pumps_copy.gif with File:Poe_1907_pumps_copy.gif you would avoid future nominations of this sort.VernoWhitney (talk) 17:45, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]- My first idea had some issues, but there are ways to at least have the image show up on the "What links here" page. Continuing on my talk page. VernoWhitney (talk) 21:52, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Let me take a peek at that. I have been trying to figure out how to get around not having the image display and still have it link to a reference. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 21:07, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes I see, the link in the title section, I will switch them when I come across them now. Now I don't even bother loading to Wikipedia, I load to my Flickr account and Picasa account and link to that image there. It is too much work to load here and have it deleted in the future. There is an great article on why the Library of Congress and others chose Flickr Commons over Wikimedia Commons over that very issue. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 04:54, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- As was determined in the FFD just closed a few seconds ago (they are being renominated again in mass) the images are being used in the article on the subject, the link in the references goes to the image. This is again a mass nomination for an issue that what just closed. Oddly Fastily is removing the original delete notices as k for keep, then renominating them for deletion in the next edit. Also no friendly notices have been provided. He is also deleting whatever source annotations I add as in here. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 05:10, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
