one question
Hello I am a user of Persian Wikipedia and I have translated parts of the article and had a question about the 2019 Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria article. See Background and Deaths toll for Turkey border regions north of Syria Jan. 2018 - Sep. 2019, before 9 Oct. The 2019 offensive is said: It is not known if this activity is or not related to Syria's YPG and SDF, or from Turkey or Iraqi PKK. By Turkey does it mean the Turkish government or the PKK branch in Turkey. Mohammad bahrami cyruc (talk) 07:49, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

Required notice related to Syrian Civil War articles
A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.
General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.Barnstar

Iowa Caucus Map
Hi @Vanilla Wizard: I wanted to ask you how can I update colors on Iowa Democratic Caucus Map or other maps like this, [1]. I don’t really know how to do that, I was wondering if, you could teach me of how to do it. Thank you - Centrist1 (talk) 03:13, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'd love to help, but I might not be the best person to ask since I didn't create or edit the map. It's in an SVG format, so you might find the page WP:SVG useful. I've encountered some political maps where editors were advised not to use Inkscape to edit them, but I can't say that it would or would not be an issue on this particular map. where I used every trick I could to make it short and keep the display the same, but it is 267 characters, 12 above the 255 limit.
To make it shorter, you could put the User and User Talk page links in bold:
<b style="font-family:Trebuchet MS"><b style="background-color:#0072de;color:#FFF"> Vanilla </b><b style="background-color:#743ba3;color:#FFF"> Wizard </b></b> 💙
: Vanilla Wizard 💙
(This is already your talk page, and Wikipedia converts links to the same page to bold and not linked.)
But that's still 260 characters, 5 above the limit. Also, I don't know why, but the space before the heart is not displaying; it would take 5 more characters to force it in with
.
You could save 6 more characters by choosing 3-hex-digit background colors very close to the 6-hex-digit background colors:
<b style="font-family:Trebuchet MS"><b style="background-color:#07d;color:#FFF"> Vanilla </b><b style="background-color:#749;color:#FFF"> Wizard </b></b> 💙

I saw your comment on Kulinski Draft MfD and understand that you feel that most media mentions are passing mentions in relation to Justice Democrats. That might have been the case earlier, but in the edits yesterday and today, the mentions on CNN, Fox, Vice, Guardian etc are much more substantial. Please see my comment at the bottom on MfD. I hope you will reconsider. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Viktorpp (talk • contribs) 13:04, 6 March 2020 (UTC) Viktorpp (talk) 13:05, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

William Mariner was an Englishman who lived in Tonga from 29 November 1806 to (probably) 8 November 1810. He later published Tonga Islands, an account of his experiences that is now one of the major sources of information on Tonga before it was significantly influenced by European culture and Christianity. Rollback granted
Hi Vanilla Wizard. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Cabayi (talk) 21:18, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
