DYK for Windows 3.1x
On 17 October 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Windows 3.1x, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Windows 3.1 had a special version, known as Modular Windows, that was controlled via television? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Windows 3.1x. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Windows 3.1x), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Tomislav Žigmanov
Hello there,
Maybe I rushed, but did Žigmanov already find a substitute in parliament? It was stated that he was an MP from 1 August to 25 October. However, my understanding is that, as he still didn't take over his ministerial duties, he is still an MP? Governor Sheng (talk) 08:17, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Governor Sheng: Hi! Žigmanov resigned yesterday, along with other MPs that will be appointed ministers. New MPs were sworn in this morning, including Žigmanov's successor. I'm updating that as of writing. Vacant0 (talk) 10:29, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

Since those ideologies exist, but are covered by "National conservatism", would it not be best to move those ideologies and references to the respective "Ideology" sections on those pages, while keeping/adding the overarching ideology in the infobox? ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 17:24, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- This matter should be discussed on their respective talk pages so that other editors could also see it. Though I'm in favor of reducing the size of ideologies in the infoboxes at Sweden Democrats and Danish People's Party. Vacant0 (talk) 17:29, 25 November 2022 (UTC)

Serbian national council elections
Hello Vacant0. I recently found out about the national council system for ethnic minorities in Serbia. Serbian Wikipedia has articles on all elections the national councils have had [1] [2] [3], though English Wikipedia has none of that. Your main editing area seems to be Serbian politics, so I just wanted to say I personally think it would be valuable to have articles on this. Maybe you could look into it in the future, if you wish. Regards. Super Ψ Dro 12:05, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello. Are you able to locate the actual gazette where the figures were published? I can see them (or at least the constituency votes) via Google Books here, but can't find that actual copy of the gazette in the link you added. Also, do you know where the full proropotional figures were published? Cheers, Number 57 18:24, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Number 57: Hi, it might be a little tricky to navigate around that website but you can find the documents with these steps:
- Starting point
- Click on 5. СЛУЖБЕНИ ЛИСТ САВЕЗНЕ РЕПУБЛИКЕ ЈУГОСЛАВИЈЕ
- Navigate to page 40 via the >> arrows in the bottom right corner then click on 09/92
- Click on 1.
- You'll then be able to download a PDF file that contains only the Constituency results of MPs that won their respective seats and MPs that were elected through proportional representation but without results (p2-6). This document also lists the candidates that won seats, their constituencies, and who nominated them.
- There is also one more document because elections were repeated in two constituencies.
- Starting point is page 40 (step 3 from above)
- Go back one page and click on 13/92
- Click on 2.
- The section regarding this repeat election is on p2 (bottom right corner) and p3 (upper left corner).
- I haven't checked yet, but I will later this year when I begin expanding post-1990 Serbian/FRY election articles, although I'm sure that official results could be also found on this website for other FRY elections up to 2000. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk) 19:03, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
- For the December 1992 election (and onwards), RZS published a very in-depth document that contains basically everything. Vacant0 (talk) 19:12, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Opposition leaders
Hello, Vacant0! Having in mind that you relatively recently initiated Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Opposition (Serbia) (quite correctly, in my opinion), I'd like to hear your assessment of some other similar articles grouped at Category:Opposition leaders – especially Leader of the Opposition (Albania), Opposition (Croatia) and Opposition (Montenegro). — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 23:21, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Sundostund:. I'd nominate those articles for AfD too considering that those titles in those countries do not exist, so it is original research. The Leader of the Opposition (Albania) article does not have any references whatsoever and with a quick google search I was not able to find anything that would prove that such title actually exists in Albania. Same goes for Opposition (Croatia) and Opposition (Montenegro); these articles do contain a little bit amount of references, though they do not confirm or have anything to do with the "Leader of the Opposition" title. The latter article was also created by the same user that created Opposition (Serbia). I'll look at other articles in the Category:Opposition leaders in a week. I'll message you when I finish. Vacant0 (talk) 11:16, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Sundostund:. I've looked at other articles that are listed at Category:Opposition leaders. Following articles would also meet the similar/same criteria as articles that I've mentioned above:
- Leader of the Opposition (Hungary) – original research, office does not exist
- Leader of the Opposition (Ireland) – original research, office does not exist, though there was a discussion back in 2010 that was about this. I think that a discussion should be opened on that article's talk page before it gets AFD'ed.
- Opposition (Myanmar) – unsure
- Leader of the Opposition (Peru) – does not contain any references but I've found this citation that labels Keiko Fujimori as the "leader of the opposition"
- Leader of the Opposition (Portugal) – office does not exist, I wasn't able to find sources that confirm its existence
- Vacant0 (talk) 22:54, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, Vacant0. I am sorry for a bit delayed response. As for the articles in question – please, feel free to nominate them for deletion, if you consider them to be founded on original research. That goes for the Balkans-related articles that I mentioned above, and the ones that you looked into afterwards. I don't see that as a controversial issue, really; articles that are purely OR in nature should be deleted. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 13:23, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- No problem, I'll nominate them for AfD in near future. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk) 14:07, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- And, since you listed Leader of the Opposition (Ireland) as a potential OR article, you should look into Leader of the Opposition (Northern Ireland) as well, since that article might have the same issue with reliability. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 15:13, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'll look at that one too. Thanks. Vacant0 (talk) 21:35, 1 March 2023 (UTC)

Tech News: 2023-10
Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The Community Wishlist Survey 2023 edition has been concluded. Community Tech has published the results of the survey and will provide an update on what is next in April 2023.
- On wikis which use LanguageConverter to handle multiple writing systems, articles which used custom conversion rules in the wikitext (primarily on Chinese Wikipedia) would have these rules applied inconsistently in the table of contents, especially in the Vector 2022 skin. This has now been fixed. [4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 March. It will be on all wikis from 9 March (calendar).
- A search system has been added to the Preferences screen. This will let you find different options more easily. Making it work on mobile devices will happen soon. [5]

'Indefinite break from Wikipedia'
I'm sorry to hear you've been nudged around and undermined so much to make you decide leaving the project forever. Although we had few interactions (on a few party articles), I can tell from them and from all the articles you helped promote that you're an invaluable contributor (and watchdog of edits that might have flaws), one that Wikipedia will only decline without and that fellow Wikipedia colleagues are going to miss. :( Still hopeful that you reconsider staying, to combat the very behavior that makes pivotal editors like you leave the project, but if not, thank you for all the work! –Vipz (talk) 14:32, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, Vipz. I'm currently not on the verge of leaving the project forever, though I really needed to take a break. The reason why I put "indefinite amount of time" is because I didn't know how long the break would last, but I'm back for now. Vacant0 (talk) 14:14, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot 'indefinite' did not mean 'forever' (though if you ever do decide the latter, the message still applies). Breaks are good, glad it was a misunderstanding on my part. :) –Vipz (talk) 14:21, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

About Rade Basta article
Hey, I was watching the Rade Basta article when this user Sophisticat.femme keeps replacing the image despite your warning about copyright. Plus this user remove a content, believing it to be "insinuations untrue deleted". I'm afraid to change anything as I don't know well about this article. If you have time, please check. Regards, SeanTVT (talk) 14:48, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- @SeanTVT: I was just about to file this to the COI noticeboard as this might be a COI case. I cannot revert their edits in the next 24h as I've already done it three times. If you could do it instead, revert it to LGV, that would be great. If they continue with edit-warring, then I'll file the case so that someone could check. Vacant0 (talk) 14:52, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- Already did. Hopefully that user stops reverting :) SeanTVT (talk) 14:56, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- Problems with the article that these users have caused are still there. You can copy the content from the LGV (last good version) and replace it with the latest revision. Vacant0 (talk) 14:58, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- You mean I should manually revert that, instead of clicking the undo button, right? SeanTVT (talk) 15:01, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

About H. G. Stephenson's article
Hello, it seems that this IP 194.168.124.50 has made a lot of edits on this article. I'm not sure if they are good edits are not, so I came here to ask for your opinion. If you have time, please skim through the article and point me out if it is a good edit or not, if it wasn't, please provide policy on why it is not a good edit. Regards, SeanTVT (talk) 14:28, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- To me, the article reads like an advertisement (see WP:NOTADVERT). The Henry George Stephensons section, which the IP added, is unsourced, including the whole history section. I've added tags to the article though I would not recommend removing everything that's unsourced, for now. I'd recommend re-writing portions of the article so that it would not look like an advertisement, but rather more neutral. If reliable sources for this distributor exist, add them to the article. Feel free to remove anything else that is not covered by reliable sources. For primary sources, you can read WP:PRIMARY. Vacant0 (talk) 14:42, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
Dispute on Ivins, Utah article
Sorry to bother you again, but it seems there is a dispute on contents relating to the History section (it was not there) between user Richadventure and Magnolia677. The user Richadventure tried to add the History section on 12 April, but user Magnolia677 keeps reverting back, nearly resulting in an edit war.
For now, I warned user Richadventure not to take this too far or be blocked for 3RR, and encouraging him to raise the topic at the Talk page, here: User talk:Richadventure - Wikipedia
I mean, user Richadventure states he/she has been "living in Ivins for 17 years and have been involved with it's heritage/historical societies", so I quite understand the frustration he/she has been going through, but I'm afraid to take matters in my hand as I'm pretty much inexperienced.
If you have time, please check up on his previous edits / his discussion on Talk page (if he had one :) ), and see if the citations followed WP policies. Regards, SeanTVT (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- I want to clarify that removing unsourced content is absolutely fine. So if someone ends up removing unsourced content from an article, that is justifiable. From what I've noticed, Richadventure added unsourced content and only one reference that cites Wikipedia as one of used sources. These types of references should be avoided as Wikipedia is not a reliable source (WP:WINARS). What Magnolia677 did was valid. Also, adding material that is not supported in the reference is also something that you should not do (WP:TSI). This could be resolved by: not adding the content back or by adding it but with sources that back up the claims. I've left a comment on their talk page. Thank you for bringing this up. Edit war on Reichstag building
Hey, there seems to be an ongoing editorial war in the article regarding of the colorization of a photo. I have tried stepping in but right now I am very unsure as these two photos that get reverted again and again have been good photos. The "war" has moved on to the Raising a Flag over the Reichstag article, although user Courcelles has fully protected it. For now I have asked Courcelles to fully protected that page too, so I was wondering if you could step in then to give your POV? Thanks, SeanTVT (talk) 14:49, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Radomir Lazović
On 2 May 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Radomir Lazović, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Radomir Lazović and other activists protested against the redevelopment of the Belgrade Waterfront by bringing a giant rubber duck to the House of the National Assembly? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Radomir Lazović. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Radomir Lazović), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Democratic Party (Serbia) GOCE copyedit
Hi Vacant0,
I'm doing a copyedit on Democratic Party (Serbia) per your GOCE request. I saw that you made some copy edits to the article as well. I would very much appreciate if you could wait, as a courtesy, until I'm done with my copy edit. I intend to finish over this weekend.
Best, voorts (talk/contributions) 12:14, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, I'm fine with that. Vacant0 (talk) 12:15, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! voorts (talk/contributions) 12:24, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
I've completed my copyedit. Excellent work! I have a few notes
- I left some clarification tags with explanations throughout the article. Generally, I noticed that there are a good number of spots where more detail should be added.
- Conversely, there appears to be too much detail about the comings and goings of party members in the history section. Perhaps some of that can be cut, which would also result in a more concise narrative of the party's history. Likewise, I'm not sure that it's necessary to state the result of the vice-president election for every party congress. Unless they've done something significant as VP or later moved into the presidency, I think those can be largely cut. I think the same can also be said of some of the party mergers.
- Should Oko izbora be cited using the "series" element (e.g. |series=Oko izbora #) in {{cite book}}? Oko izbora appears to be a series of reports from a nonprofit that is regularly published, with each issue receiving a new number.
- I added in the original Serbian in paranthesis where I could using {{lang}} per MOS:FOREIGNQUOTE, but there are spots where I couldn't figure out what the original text was. Also, titles in citations should be translated into English.
Best of luck on getting FA! voorts (talk/contributions) 19:43, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- I appreciate the copy-editing. I understand that you might not know Serbian, so I did fix a couple of minor errors you've made throughout your copy-editing, but all in all, the article now looks much better. I've addressed the issues that you've pointed out in the article by either clarifying/modifying/removing the content. I also did cut unhelpful content from the article but I've also kept things which I find to be important for this party's history (e.g. DS has the highest number of party splits in Serbian politics, so most of these splits are covered in the article in some way or another). I'd disagree with adding the series parameter to those sources as these are books whose names include Oko izbora # (# depends on the release). Even if we keep Oko izbora in the title, the series parameter would only clutter the refs, I find this addition to be unnecessary. I've also added the rest of translations and fixed some of your quotes, should be all good now. Vacant0 (talk) 19:17, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Makes sense RE Oko izbora. To my recollection, there's nothing in the article about DS having the highest number of party splits in Serbian politics; if there's an RS to back that up, that claim should definitely be added somewhere in the article. voorts (talk/contributions) 21:11, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, that was just an example, but I'll add it in the article. Vacant0 (talk) 22:14, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I think it's relevant not just as a piece of trivia, but because it shows that DS has significantly shaped the political landscape in Serbia. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:17, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I agree, just added it. Vacant0 (talk) 22:18, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Stick to Serbia elections buddy, you know nothing about Italy. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:04, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Per WP:BURDEN: "
All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material
". Have you added any sources in these two Special:Diff/1154386056 Special:Diff/1158399216 edits that you've made to the article? You haven't. Therefore, do not reinstate unsourced material without adding reliable sources that back up the claim. Vacant0 (talk) 21:11, 3 June 2023 (UTC)- Hey buddy, I literally did add a source identifying the party as "leftist." Sorry you are a leftist yourself. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:14, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- The source that you've added refers the coalition as centre-left. I'll quote: "
join an electoral alliance led by the Democratic Party (PD), in a move seen as strengthening the centre-left
". The source refers the Greens and Left Alliance as leftist, not the Centre-left coalition (Italy). Vacant0 (talk) 21:16, 3 June 2023 (UTC)- Buddy, a coalition is made up of the parties in that coalition and takes in their ideologies. Therefore, the upper bound of the coalition is left-wing as the second largest party in the coalition is left-wing. It is simple common sense. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:18, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- It is not common sense, it is original research. If you want, you can add the source to Greens and Left Alliance and I won't have a problem with it. The source that you've added though, does not refer the Centre-left coalition (Italy) as left-wing, but as centre-left. That is original research and your own interpretation of content which is in clear violation of Wikipedia's policies. Please read WP:VERIFIABILITY and WP:SYNTH. Vacant0 (talk) 21:22, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- So it is your position that the Greens and Left Alliance is incorrect in calling them left-wing? Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:24, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- It is not my position but it is clearly cited in the text of the source that the Greens and Left Alliance is leftist, not the Centre-left coalition (Italy). Vacant0 (talk) 21:26, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, so that is not your position, good. Is it your position that the Greens and Left Alliance are not part of the Centre-left coalition? Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:28, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- It would be more helpful if you would actually go and read the policies that I've pointed out to you instead of trolling and wasting my time. The source that you've added does not describe the Centre-left coalition as left-wing, but as centre-left. End of story. Find a better source that actually describes the Centre-left coalition as left-wing or remove the claim that you've added. Vacant0 (talk) 21:37, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- The source described the Centre-left coalition as centre-left because that is what they are called. None of the sources in Centre-right coalition (Italy) listed as describing them as far-right actually call the coalition far-right either. They call individual parties and leaders of the coalition far-right. So, it seems to me you are simply a leftist who holds a typical double standard. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:43, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Well, that's a problem for that article. So, can you find a better source for Centre-left coalition or not? If not, I'll simply revert your addition because it fails WP:V. Vacant0 (talk) 21:48, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Are you going to delete the far-right claim for the Centre-right coalition (Italy) article? Or just the left-wing claim? Hmm I wonder. Seeing as you supposedly care so much about accuracy here. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:52, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for opening up a discussion on both coalition talk pages. I do apologize for the animosity I displayed toward you, for what I believed at the time was a blatant issue of bias. I see now that was not the case. I do agree with your position that the political position should probably be removed from at least the Centre-right coalition page. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 19:59, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Themanoflaw049: Considering that you sought to change the status quo, you should give your opinion on the issue here. There is also an ongoing discussion at the Centre-right coalition. Vacant0 (talk) 21:38, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Well I originally sought to change the status quo for centre-left based on the sourcing for centre-right. If it is agreed that the sourcing for centre-right is not valid, then I have no objection to keeping centre-left status quo. Themanoflaw049 (talk) 21:58, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Question from Jamesroux86 on Brookfield Corporation (16:12, 28 June 2023)
Hi, The Brookfield Corporation page is inaccurate. EdPer did not acquire Brascan in 1959. That is when EdPer was founded. EdPer seized majority shares in Brascan in 1979. This happened as a result of a hostile takeover engineered by Jack Cockwell. The details of this hostile takeover are describe in the book “ The Brass Ring: Power, Influence and the Brascan Empire”.
