Speedy deletion of Janny Loseth
[edit]A tag has been placed on Janny Loseth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Maybe next time...
[edit]Yeah, I just wanted to say that it looks like your page is going be deleted. Sorry about that--Janny looks like a notable enough person, though there is that copyright issue. Perhaps read up on this useful essay, and the previous one I linked to, before you make another one? --Call me Bubba (talk) 23:32, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for you contribution to the Riad Jarjour article. Unfortunately I had to revert your edits because they are incompatible with wikipedia's Manual of Style and is not well edited, and contains a lot of subjective phrasing and has no sources. Please do read Wikipedia's MoS before editing the article again. Your additions are more than welcome as long as they keep up with Wikipedia regulations. Best. Yazan (talk) 18:08, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Marhebtein. Well, here's a few notes about the article. First, it was obvious that you had copied and pasted the text, which is in violation of copyright regulations on Wikipedia, and would eventually endanger deleting the whole article. What would be more appropriate is if you summarized that text and put it in a language that is more suitable for an encyclopedia (put it in prose, and remove all POV content). And ofcourse you also need to reference all of this, add links or names of books or publications that support the text. There's also wikilinking, where you should make sure to link to other articles that maybe mentioned here, so that the text can be more helpful. But most importantly, the changes that you added were simply unsuitable for an encyclopedia the way they were.A good example about a start-class biography article is Khalid al-Azm, it is referenced (not perfectly, but still), it is wikilinked properly, reworded into prose, and divided into proper sections and subsections. I am terribly sorry for reverting I wouldn't want to discourage your wonderful contributions, but the article as it was before the changes was more helpful and suitable to wikipedia. If you do follow through and decide to add the changes with the proper styling I am sure it will be even more helpful... ;) Salamat, and again thank you for your contributions! Yazan (talk) 15:31, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Please do! I will try to help in wikilinking and stuff.. ;) And again thanks for all the contributions. Yazan (talk) 16:22, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- I have edited the part you added, I've had to remove a lot of paragraphs that may not belong here... you may want to start articles on some of the stuff in there like The Council of Nicosia and others, if you're interested. All the best. Yazan (talk) 18:20, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
