Requests for checkuser/Case/Bobabobabo

Why are you Requesting for checkuser on me? (Bobabobabo 01:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC))

Because it is very odd that all of you users have been doing similar edits including those at AIV. Ryūlóng 01:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
O.k. I'm sorry. If you are part of the Pokémon Collaborative Project may you talk to them about voting no images for the Pokemon episode list. Please, I'm not doing the images for my use only (besides if I was I would have been posting them on my user page, which i'm not). So may you try to talk to them.
Besides how do you be apart of the Pokémon Collaborative Project???
I'm very very very very sorry about all of this I espcally sorry for giving you trouble (all that reverting crap.)
Trust me, I am a good contributor (like I said before).
(01:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC))
Unfortunately, there will not be any images on the episode lists, and it has become too much of a hassle to stop some anonymous editor from changing the template to his and your liking. Nothing bad will come out of the checkuser. Ryūlóng 01:32, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
~:(
Also may you help me with the Category:Pokémon Opening themes please I don't want it to be Wikipedia:Categories for deletion!!!
(Bobabobabo 01:34, 1 October 2006 (UTC))
It might be renamed, but it doesn't really serve any use as a category. A list article does much better. Ryūlóng 01:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Note: If you do WHOIS on the IP which my IP is 72.177.68.38 = [ cpe-72-177-68-38.austin.res.rr.com ] Austin, TX

you also put the IP 72.232.215.170 = [ ClutchKill.com ] Frisco, TX

How can I have two IPs which are in two different states. So that IP is not mine and don't think that its mine...

It might be renamed, but it doesn't really serve any use as a category. A list article does much better. Ryūlóng 01:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
So may you help with the opening and ending themes of Pokemon (note for the CD case image go to this site.. Its helpful http://pokemonrepository.no-ip.com/albums/2003.html
Both of those IPs are from the same state... Texas. And there doesn'tneed to be a category for the opening themes, just an article for all of them. Ryūlóng 01:40, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

But How can I have two IPs? My IP

[cpe-72-177-68-38.austin.res.rr.com]

the other IP

72.232.215.170 = [ ClutchKill.com ]

(Bobabobabo 01:43, 1 October 2006 (UTC))

I don't know. Ryūlóng 01:44, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Go to the [1] it is a restricted site.. (Bobabobabo 01:49, 1 October 2006 (UTC))
Well, whatever the results, then whatever the results. If it is not proven, then you can go about your business. Ryūlóng 01:50, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
  1. May you help me with the opening and ending themes pages?? I know about they don't need a category.

(Bobabobabo 01:54, 1 October 2006 (UTC))

Alyssa Milano's page

Hello there,

The article Alyssa was about the name Alyssa and its derivatives until someone replaced the whole content with all that about Alyssa Milano. I think all contributions about Alyssa Milano should be made to origianl Alyssa Milano's page and a reference on Alyssa's page to Alyssa Milano's page.

If you think otherwise, please bring it to the article's talk page.

Thanks and Regards, Persian Magi

It is not a duplicate article; it is some album that Alyssa Milano released. Ryūlóng 01:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I see what you mean, now the article is fixed, somewhat. Ryūlóng 01:28, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Okey. But the original article was about the meaning of the name. Wouldn't it be better if we left this article as is and create a new article? Persian Magi 01:32, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
It's fixed. Alyssa is about the name and Alyssa (album) is about the album released by Alyssa Milano. Ryūlóng 01:33, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Greate, thanks :) - by the way, she is really georgous. :)

Thank you

Very much from the real one.--Dakota 02:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

OH NO IT'S A SOCK :P Ryūlóng 02:17, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: my "vandalism"

I didn't vandalize anything, smart guy. I'm simply trying ot save this horrid site from stinging mediocrity. I removed an entire section of unreferenced and unverified original research, as I'm supposed to do. Or has Wikipedia abandoned the ideas and concepts of afctually being readable and verifiable? --FuriousFreddy 04:16, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I apologize; could you clarify as to which page you are talking about? Ryūlóng 04:17, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, are you the IP editor that blanked a good portion of Scooby Doo? Ryūlóng 04:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm talking about Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio and that big chunk of false-info and original research that was merged into it. It's now been significantly shortned and referenced (properly at that!), something that is becoming quite a rariety these days. And I did indeed edit Scooby-Doo, if you would actually read my changes, I didn't blank any section so much as revise, correct grammar, and edit down a fancrufty mention of everytime someone's parodied Scooby-Doo into a short list of titles. I really did not want to log in; I was supposed to have already quit this project weeks ago because it was deteriorating beyond control. I now see that I made the right decision originally, because good and decent contributions aren't welcomed. I hope to God that Larry Sanger gets Citizendium. off the ground and banishes this bloated, mutated, and increasingly useless Wikipedia into oblivion. --FuriousFreddy 04:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
If I could understand the end of that message, I would reply to it, but this is not cleanup. That is something Tawkerbot would revert. Ryūlóng 04:52, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

My talk page

Ever since FuriousFreddy's comments on my talk page, I've been unable to do any edits to it, because of the "Spam protection filter". As you are more wiki-knowledged than I, and you seem to be around at the moment, can you help me out and either (1) try to make an edit to my talk page and see if the same is true for you and/or (2) tell me what's wrong? I don't see any links to any spam-filter links there. Any help is appreciated. JPG-GR 05:17, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to try to fix it. Ryūlóng 05:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Done, a xoomer.alice.it set it off, and I've removed the linking from it. Ryūlóng 05:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Your vision must be better than mine, as I didn't see anything. Then again, this just provides another reason for me to show up for my eye exam on Thursday. Thanks! JPG-GR 05:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
On the other hand, that link had been there for quite a while, so I wasn't even looking there. Regardless, thanks again. JPG-GR 05:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem, at all. Ryūlóng 05:34, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Mr. Wildcat

I figured it was our good friend, but I'm so rarely editing when he's online too that I've been trying to engage him. I can be foolishly optimistic sometimes... —tregoweth (talk) 05:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I forgive you :P I got Tawker to block him accidentally, then on purpose. Ryūlóng 05:39, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Peter Decker

May I ask why you're recommending that this topic be deleted? I disagree that it is not relevant. It's an article about a character in a popular mystery series. --Bookworm857158367 08:09, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I did not realize it was a fictional character. I thought it was a real person's biography. Ryūlóng 08:13, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Then please remove your speedy deletion tag. The article clearly says he is a fictional character. --Bookworm857158367 08:21, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Done. Ryūlóng 08:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Ryulong. Why are you deleting facts that I have added for article for boronia... Nothing better to do.

Glen's friend

Of course, this will be quickly erased, but you're an asshole. So am I, because I'm a real wikipedian and I revert and piss off lots of vandals. But as you're reverting and destroying my vandalism, it's extremely annoying. Suck Scheiße Arschloch!!!! And, of course, keep up the good work! --JohnScout 09:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I actually do think you're an awesome contributor, btw. And I will totally support your next RFA. I supported your last one, as well. Best Wishes!!! --207.200.116.200 09:20, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, but don't blank the entire page, even if you are still in vandal mode. Ryūlóng 09:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Blanking sucks arse, and I shouldn't do that. It's fun, but anyway, here was my original message. No idea what IP it'll show up under, since AOL is a vandal's wet dream. --207.200.116.200 09:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

It's the same IP, and I copied it over, already. AOL proxies work so that the same IP edits the same page, or some crap like that. Ryūlóng 09:27, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm still confused as to how one goes about being vandalised 1/4 of a time, though? Explain? --207.200.116.200 09:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Pardon? Ryūlóng 09:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Your userpage indicates you've been vandalised 20 1/4 times. I was curious about the 1/4 time. Each time I've been vandalised has been an entire time, or perhaps even moreso (since some people are much more creative than I am)--207.200.116.200 09:33, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Oh, twas a newbie that accidentally left a message on my user page, I think (been a while). I just leave it up there now cause it's a little funny. Ryūlóng 09:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, that makes sense. Anyway, I'm going to take my drunk ass to bed. Have a great night man! --207.200.116.200 09:36, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

You too. Ryūlóng 09:37, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

IMAGES on Template:Pokepisode

May we please have images on the Pokepisode Template.

also may we do separate episode pages. I personally will keep a watchfull eye of vandals.

Note, I will also go to every single Pokemon episode images and add the Fair use rationale, so they can be allowed on the episode list pages. (Bobabobabo 16:07, 1 October 2006 (UTC))

Thanks, but no thanks

Thank you for deleting the comment that these pretzels are making me thirsty left, but please don't do it again. I was letting my friend (in real life, not wikilife) test out wikipedia, and talk to me on my talk page. I am able to revert any vandalism that occurs on my own user page. As the title says, Thanks, but no thanks. Color Me Invisible 19:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Chill!

Keep cool with some snowflakes!

Try and stay calm with editors with differing opinions, the best way to get your point across to outside editors and other people in the discussion, is to make your case calmly without having a go at people. You'll gain more support for your actions, instead of ridicule, and you'll feel much better. Harmonious editing, Highway Daytrippers 20:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

But he decided to alter the template to his liking and then ask an outside admin to protect it on that version, just for pictures. Ryūlóng 20:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Stay calm, I know this is a tense situation. Could you please link to me to this discusion? Highway Daytrippers 20:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
There's User talk:A Man In Black and User talk:Bobabobabo, and User talk:Mets501 (where Yugigx60 asked for protection). Ryūlóng 20:32, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Can I just ask why this was discussed in the User talk space, and then the decision being commanded as project policy? Because it's coming across like that. Highway Daytrippers 20:33, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, it was basically discussion over the disruption that the several users were doing, utilzining {{Digimon episode}} to show images, when there were way too many for fair use to be upheld. But then Yugigx60 went out on his own and made {{Pokepisode}} a duplicate of the Digimon episode template, and then asked an outside administrator to protect it due to the edit war. Now it's gotten way out of hand. Ryūlóng 20:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, now, I think the best thing to do is for all involved editors, including the protecting admin, to discuss this at a neutral discussion page? Do you think that would be beneficial for discussion? Highway Daytrippers 20:38, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I believe it would be beneficial, however the template should be fixed so it isn't a duplicate of {{Digimon episode}}. Ryūlóng 20:40, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Unblock of Wikipediaman123

Er, he made userboxes in the article space. Not the template space, or even his sandbox. He made User Soccer, User Cycling, User Basketball, User Beach Ball among others, several of which were just transclusions of the templates into the article space. Ryūlóng 06:49, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. I've further clarified the reason why he was blocked on his talk page so hopefully this will clear up whatever misunderstandings he may have had about namespaces. --  Netsnipe  ►  07:01, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I figured out why he had screwed up, and I fixed his sandbox for him. Ryūlóng 07:27, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Beetle Tech?

I noticed your name in some edits on Power Rangers and wonder if you could look at some articles. They seem to be about a Power Rangers series that I can't verify ever existed. All appear to have been created by the same editor. They include huge numbers of articles like Power Rangers Beetle Tech, Power Rangers Beetle Tech Season 1, Power Rangers Beetle Tech Season 2, and more of the same you can find in Special:Contributions/ForeverBlack. What made me really suspicious is an article on a character, Garrett Stine, using a picture of an actor (Matthew Lawrence) who didn't play the character (but no actual actor is named) and the picture is labeled "Used only to show what Garrett would look like in real life".

Is this some sort of fanfic, maybe? -- Fan-1967 19:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

OH GOD! KILL IT ALL D: It's the worst kind of fanfic; the one that admits it in the first line:
That's all that matters to me. They can be all killed with great justice. Ryūlóng 21:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Italy moves

I have no opinion on the fight, but I'd like to point out to both of you (crossposted to Rarelibra) that these moves are creating several double redirects, and it would be nice if y'all could clean up the mess when you're done moving things. --Golbez 20:33, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Agree. I have already requested from Rarelibra that any new changes are taken first to WP:RM. I find this whole thing quite disruptive. We have gone through a long discussion on the matter before and seemed to reach some sort of agreement. Please note that I have no sort of agenda here (I'm neither Italian nor German). Regards, Asteriontalk 20:38, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I actually tried to deal with whatever double redirects I know I did find and that he made in his moves. Ryūlóng 21:01, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Sanhedrin

See Talk:Sanhedrin. Your 'friend' Nixer is making some trouble there. I see you have been involved in a little fight with him and that you are also Jewish, so drop in if you want. -Daniel575 | (talk) 21:02, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll look into it as best as you can, but mind you, I ate today. Ryūlóng 21:03, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Page edits to "Operation overdrive/Boukenger"

Greetings. I'm the previously unregistered user who suplied the data regarding DaiVoyager, and subsequently noted the edits you made. Don't get me wrong, I seek not to complain; in fact I'm glad a vigilant Wikipedian was kind enough to revise my novice's statement. However, with this acount being a mere 24hours old, I have not yet learned how to credit my sources, and though I tried to, I could not. Thus, I'm leaving this message so that Hopefully I can pass on the data I found to a more skilled Wikipedian who can put it into proper from. the source I used was an aparently independently run database on Boukenger that is at least reasonably accurate-the page's creator/admin updates weekly as new episodes are aired, and had posted a japanese poster and toy advertisement for DaiVoyager, as well as already having all the data you've already mentioned in the Wikipedia article on the site in question, including the Zords and lists of villians, rangers, and precious' apearing in Boukenger. Thus, I think at least the data presented is accurate, apparently coming from Japan directly, or from someone with enough connections to japan to retrieve such data. Hence, I hereby submit the site for your review in hopes you'll find it usefull.

I also apologize in advance if this message is ill-placed, being new to this I am prone to errors and thus have no problem if this message needs to be moved or somesuch.Shotesu 22:02, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I do know of the site, but I utilize other sites for my sources. I do appreciate xranger's uploading of the 30 Sentais every week, though. Right now, I'm busy doing some other edits, and I'll look into all of this when I can. Ryūlóng 22:04, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah, acknowledged. Thanks for the swift reply!Shotesu 22:16, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem. Just a lot of work done today. Ryūlóng 22:22, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Aha! After a few moments of browsing google, I located a forum thread with large and detailed scans of Dai Voyager, Visable at the following location.
Although these may or may not be of any help, I do know that Wikipedia pages often sport images to go with their text; and that these are the same pics and more as were veiwable on Xranger, just much bigger and more legable.Shotesu 22:33, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, I might not upload them, but I will use them as references. As you can see at Sargess there is already some information concerning the components of DaiVoyager. Ryūlóng 22:34, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Pokemon Images tagged for deletion

Thank you for taking the enishitive on tagging the Pokemon images! Did it take a long time doing it, like their were about 200 images that I uploaded!! (Bobabobabo 22:50, 2 October 2006 (UTC))

Yeah, it was very intensive in doing all of that. Ryūlóng 23:38, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Rarelibra

Actually, I'd report him at either the personal attack noticeboard or at the administator's noticeboard. --Woohookitty(meow) 04:18, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

He's already at ANI under a cut-paste move header. I just don't know where to send him next. Ryūlóng 04:20, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I have, however, linked to the diffs. Ryūlóng 04:24, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for your help on dealing with User:Rarelibra on South Tyrol, Trentino-South Tyrol and Bozen-Bolzano. I warned the user before already, however he seems immune to good advice. If you need help with the 3RR, let me know. I already reported his behaviour on the admin. noticeboard, I don't know if it helped.. Gryffindor 07:21, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I really don't know who is right or who is wrong in this situation (he emphatically says that he is right and you are wrong) however, copy-paste moves are bad, even if they are to some sort of neutral thing (supposedly). Ryūlóng 07:26, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Hrm... You're an admin. Ryūlóng 07:43, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Fleshlight article

Please explain why this article qualifies for speedy deletion and the article for Sybian not? Or a million other articles? FleshJoe 04:33, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I changed my mind about it. I've even moved it so it's at the right place. Ryūlóng 04:34, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Please note that this article existed for the last 3 years and was deleted (by whom? I couldnt tell) on Sunday night with no explanation. The article survived 3 attempts to delete it by procedure (i.e. there was a public discussion) and the result was STRONG KEEP each time. I'd also like some help with making it more 'wikified'. Can you tell me where it's violating the accepted norm? (bleh I forget to sign every time). FleshJoe 04:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I'll get you some stuff on your talk page to show you how to do everything. Ryūlóng 04:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Much appreciated. One thing about your moving it from Fleshlight to FleshLight -- the actual spelling is as far as I know 'Fleshlight', i.e. no middle capital. Also, will hits on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleshlight reach the new page? Google lists the old spelling page.FleshJoe 04:56, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
It will. Ryūlóng 04:56, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! Last question (I'm nearly done restoring the article). I want to add pointers to some of the categories that have links to this article, e.g. Human sexuality, masturbation, etc. Can't figure out how to. I did look in the docs and didnt find the info I needed (my fault of course but... ) Thanks! FleshJoe 05:28, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Do you mean categorizing the page? I'm not sure if there's a masturbation category, but there is definitely a human sexuality one. To add these to the article, just add [[Category:(Category name)]]. Ryūlóng 06:10, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Figured it out, thanks! FleshJoe 08:24, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Red Ranger

What exactly does "Fair use" mean? Also, it isn't true where it says "Note: Rocky is the first Red Ranger who is not the leader of his respective team." because Jason was the original leader but when Tommy came in as the White Ranger, he was named the Power Rangers leader and Jason became 2nd in-command, so wouldn't Jason be the first Red Ranger who is not the leader of his respective team? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

Okay, thanks. But what about my second question? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

Jason was leader of his respective team. But then they fired Austin St. John. Ryūlóng 07:50, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, but before they fired Austin St. John, Jason David Frank (Tommy) replaced Jason as the leader of the Power Ranger while Jason was still a Power Ranger. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

True, but Rocky is the only one who did not lead a team. Ryūlóng 08:00, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism

Hi there, thanks for being on the look out, but it'd be good if you do not report users who have not edited since the last warning was issued. Thanks/wangi 11:15, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand

why did you delete sylvia's message on my talk page?Jaber90 16:09, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

There is a whole thread on the administrators' noticeboard about this user. Please read it there. Ryūlóng 19:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Italy (feel free to clarify this)

The biggest thing is this - everyone was centered on our actions and no consideration was given to the page naming (and original changing last year that Taalo pointed out). Similar situations abound in the military - where my soldiers do the wrong thing but the overall intentions are clear. In that case, yes, they are disciplined - while I correct the situation myself. I didn't see that happening. And I didn't appreciate the wording used against me. Somehow things can always be twisted - like the 'wikistalking' comment. Don't read into things - because accusing someone of something (like someone calling an editor a 'vandal' because of a topic the person ran into) is libel until proven true. Have a great day, and hope to run into you in a more civil manner soon. Rarelibra 21:30, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I apologize for what happened, but things like these should not occur on Wikipedia. Edit warring, and slinging insults (myself included it seems), but we had all tried to tell you the right means of performing the moves, and as I said, I will look into South Tyrol and the other places and see what needs to be done. Ryūlóng 21:33, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Speedy delete

You put a speedy delete tag/template on Talk:Oyster River High School. Doesn't this usually go on the main page? John Broughton | Talk 21:36, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Nope. The CSD G1 criteria holds for all pages, even talk. Thus if a talk page is nonsense, we can delete it without removing the involved article. I hope that helps. alphaChimp(talk) 22:12, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, that helps. I do find it odd, though - I would have thought just blanking the talk page would suffice. Anyway, the talk page is gone, the article remains, and I'll continue amusing myself by reverting vandalism that the vandalbot misses. John Broughton | Talk 23:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Zeo Rangers Pic

What's wrong with having my picture on that page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

It's not the Zeo Rangers, and it's sourced to a message board/fansite. Ryūlóng 03:40, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

What do you mean that's not the Zeo Rangers. Those are the Zeo Rangers! And who cares if it comes from a fansite, it's still a website! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

They're the Ohrangers, from the original, and the image is not necessary. Ryūlóng 03:44, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Even if it's not necessary, it doesn't hurt to have a picture of the Zeo Rangers. It's like you remove everything people add to a Power Rangers page and you're getting pretty annoying. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

I know, a picture of them would be all right, it's just that it should be one that comes either as a screenshot or something from solely American footage. Also, stop removing the {{orfud}} tags from those images, please? It's getting pretty annoying to keep having to do so. Also, sign your posts. Ryūlóng 03:48, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

No, I'm not going to stop removing the {{orfud}} tags from the images because they are MY images and they are not on your Power Ranger pages so you have nothing to do with them. Also, I don't know how to sign my posts and I don't want to take the time to do so. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAMistheMAN (talkcontribs) .

They are not your images. They belong to TOEI (and Disney). And you sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~). Ryūlóng 03:54, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm New

Hi, I'm new to wikipedia and I joined the Vanadilism Removal Unit. I saw that when I was trying to revert vandalism I got confused and messed things up a little bit. Thanks for helping me clear that up. Also, thanks for leaving a message on my talk page with help to get me started. Rubikfreak 04:21, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

No problem at all. Ryūlóng 04:22, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Just wanted to thank you for your help with User:Mykungfu. You did a ton of work just while I was posting a request for help on AN/I. I'm willing to do what I can to prevent this guy from disrupting things further, but I can't do it myself AND defend myself from the bogus allegations he likes to throw around. | Mr. Darcy talk 04:32, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism on User:Lahiru k

Thank you, for your acts against vandalism. Lahiru_k 04:53 4 October 2006(UTC)

Thanks for your revert of S Seagal's vandalism. I fear that this will continue with him unless action is taken. Could you plz mediate?Hkelkar 04:55, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I've given him a 3RR warning. If he repeats, list him here. Ryūlóng 04:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Well he might wait a day and start over. I think a confirmed non-partisan user is desperately needed to mediate matters there and you seem to be a great candidate for this. Please consider spending some time on this.I'd be ever so grateful.Hkelkar 05:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
I would, but I'm in school, and I should desperately be working on a laboratory report that is due in eight hours. If he repeats his edits (a violation of WP:3RR), do not revert him, but report him to WP:AN3. Ryūlóng 05:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

OK sorry to bother you at this time. Should you become free then please do drop by the Talk:Pakistani nationalism page and help keep the wolves at bay, so to speak :-).Hkelkar 05:08, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Power Rangers: The Movie revising

Okay, yes I'm new here, but my contribution to the page was deleted, both times. Now the first time was my mistake, and I realized that after I made it. But you say my addition to the Notes was too trivial, but yet you have a note saying how the sword in the movie resembles the sword used later on by the Shogun Megazord. I don't see why contribution was deleted. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alitain (talkcontribs) .

Well, trivia sections are just bad on articles. Ryūlóng 05:21, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Okay, well thanks for changing it to have The Great Temple, I was spacing the name. And again sorry for deleting that whole section before...total mistake.Alitain 05:27, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Alitain

Vandalism Bindi Irwin Article.

I am the anonymous user you posted the information you called vandalism. Vandalism is defined by wikipedia as "any addition, deletion, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia" I was making an additional to the article which has to say on the issue: Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia. For example, adding a personal opinion once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated. In short what I did was not vandalism. Vandalism is according to wikipeia "the replacement of existing text with obscenities, page blanking, or the insertion of bad jokes or other nonsense."--Sovietcollector 05:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, for some reason it had been reverted prior, but I have now fixed it up a bit. Ryūlóng 05:38, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I was just thought it was something important that belonged in the article.--Sovietcollector 05:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Now it is. Ryūlóng 05:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

What you did was perfect it expresses the same thing without the long wording --Sovietcollector 05:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome :) Ryūlóng 05:46, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

You think we can delete this thread now since the disagreement is over.--Sovietcollector 05:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

No, I will archive it later on. It needn't be "deleted". Ryūlóng 05:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

keep up the excellent work defending wikipedia! i have seen you around wikipedia and have noticed your dilligence in handling vandals. recently i noticed how you handled the "sausage" vandal with grace and tolerance that I am not sure i would have demonstrated. nice job. Public Access

Your efforts of reverting are duly noted. But in all due respect it was only a bold edit on my part which the rules endorse. I'm the founder of Public Access in Evansville, IN. The concept of renaming Public Access Community Media or Citizen Media isn't new, and I first heard it at the Alliance for Community Media's Central States Annual Convention in 2000 in Dayton, OH, which only three others and myself were invited for our efforts in quickly starting Public Access in our areas. The renaming of the article was most recently suggested by the Public Access coordinator named Sean Effel who like myself is a heavy contributor to the Public Access article.

The history which you say need not be rewritten is endorsed by the Father of Public Access himself - George C. Stoney. See the History of Public Access link by Bill Olsen if you don't believe me. As for you removing the flags that's almost tantamount to vandalisim. "Not necessary?" It's our heirtage and Wikipedia's rules for making good articles call for images.

Therefore, if you vandalize the public access entry again I will get an Administrator involved and or see that your blocked. The last person like you to keep vandalising the article no longer post there.

Thanks again. DavidWJohnson 06:00, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

WP:OWN. Ryūlóng 06:00, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
I owe you an apology. On second look today at your changes after having a good night's sleep I realized there was little I disagreed with. I did add "some" readditions and "some" images but that's all, which I described along with an apology in the edit summary. I also read up on the WP:OWN and WP:POV. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm sorry I snapped at you. Thanks again for your edits. Your Brother in Christ, DavidWJohnson 18:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you, and it was basically a WP:OWN and WP:NC(CN) issue. I have never heard of it as "Citizen Media" or "Community Media" and there was not much changed (I had just replaced the History section with the one prior to your handful of edits, one that omitted the Canadian and American flags). I wish you luck in your future Wikipedia ventures. Ryūlóng 20:51, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

ok..so

ok, so, if there is an article without diacritics and someone moves it to add diacritics, that is ok? That is a double standard. if the article started out without diacritics, then it should stay there until an overall consensus is reached. if the article started out with diacritics, then it should stay there until an overall consensus is reached. you can't play favourites and say that all articles should get moved to add diacritics until a consensus is reached. Certain users had done mass moving of articles to include diacritics without consensus while discussions were taking place. my attmepts to return articles to their original state are being confronted by you. Right now discussions have stalled, but the mass moving without consensus that occured can't stay. One of the reasons they can't stay is that (and this is an actualy arguement used) "most articles have diacritics already". That arguement only held true because during discussions, people were moving to their favour instead of being civil and putting a freeze on moves. Masterhatch 06:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

It all depends on whether or not the actual name has diacritics in it. If you went and moved Wikipedia to Wīkĭpėdíâ, that would be pointless, as there are no such diacritics within the name (and it might be move protected anyway). All of these Finnish, Czech, and other European-born hockey players' names have diacritic marks in them, and there are redirects (due to moves and unmoves) that do not have the diacritics in them. Teemu Selanne goes to Teemu Selänne, and Marian Stastny goes to Marián Šťastný. It doesn't matter if you don't put in the diacritics into the search, as you are sent to the correct article with that person's name as the title. Ryūlóng 06:24, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and moves aren't necessary to make this as such. All you would have to do is make a new page and utilize #REDIRECT [[Insert text]]. Ryūlóng 06:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
You have said before that "it doesn't matter". so, if it doesn't matter, what is your problem? you are right about redirects. They are great for redirecting diacritic spellings to the English spellings. my attempt, which you haven't answered, is to return them to the original article spelling until a consensus is reach. In the case that a consensus is never reached, then the articles remain at their original spelling. Some articles have diacritics in their oriignal spelling and some don't. by you moving all of them to diacritic form, you are forcing your personal pov (which some might call vandalism) on wikipedia. Masterhatch 06:32, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
No, redirects should not be used for diacritic spellings to English spellings. It should only be the other way around. What purpose would it be for a user to type in a name with diacritics, just to be sent to the English spelling which may not be correct? Ryūlóng 06:33, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
what purpose would it hold to title an article with diacritics when very few people will use diacritics when they type into the search? Masterhatch 06:41, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Because when someone types in the name without diacritics, they can be redirected to the article with diacritics. Ryūlóng 06:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Pokémon is a bad example and you know it. Pokémon, not Pokemon, is the most common way to spell it in English and therefore Pokémon should be the article's title. Masterhatch 06:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Exactly. Now, how about "Ragnarok". Ryūlóng 06:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
a quick google search for Ragnarok comes up Ragnarok as the more common spelling, but i have no idea what the most common spellings are in the media, reference books, and other encyclopeadias. following wikipedia naming conventions, if Ragnarok is the most common spelling in English, then Ragnarok should be the article title and if Ragnarök is the most common spelling in English, then Ragnarök should be the article title. what is your point? you know my beliefs. Petr Nedvěd is the least common way of spelling that persons name in English, so the article title should be Petr Nedved. it was that way until Lemmy moved it without consensus a few weeks ago. Petr Nedvěd should be moved back to Petr Nedved for two reasons: that is the mosst common way to spell his name in English and that was the original spelling of the article (as it was moved without consensus). Masterhatch 07:09, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Google is bad for this sort of stuff, because they get rid of diacritics in the search (you can look for one thing without them and get it with them). And I believe that Ragnarök is used in the OED or Encyclopædia Brittanica. What you believe is not what could be considered as right. If the man's name is "Petr Nedvěd" then there is no reason that his article should be at "Petr Nedved" or even "Peter Nedved". Ryūlóng 07:12, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes i know google is not reliable. that is why i mentioned other sources. Well, if most reliable english sources spell it with diacritics, then that is how wikipedia should be. if most reliable sources spell it without diacrtics, then that is how wikipeida should be. of course, it is a case by case situation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Masterhatch (talkcontribs) .

But these are proper names that have been transcribed into English. Ryūlóng 07:22, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

TV.com

Good morning. You negated my change again, stating that TV.com is not a reliable source. This is the exact quote from the editing page for the Mystic Force episode area:

"If there are episodes added here that are not listed on TV.com's page, they will be deleted and you will be warned for deliberately introducing false information into this article.

"

This specifically states that TV.com is a reliable source for corroboration of an episode's status. Unless the admin changes that wording, my change can stand and should not be altered as that change itself should be considered vandalism.

Thank you.

It was decided a while ago that we should not rely on TV.com as a reliable source; other pages have not been changed to reflect that decision. Ryūlóng 20:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Then why did that page specfically state, as I pasted above, that TV.com WAS a reliable source? Until that statement was removed anyway. Me 22:36, 4 October 2006 (CST)
That was before the whole bullshit that went on at Talk:Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive. Ryūlóng 04:05, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

SuperGroups Article?

What do you think about a seperate article for supergroups? They are a pretty extensive part of the game and alot could be written about them. Certainly more than whats in the main article. I could write up the base article on bases and then you could make sure it meets wikipedia standards. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carterhawk (talkcontribs) .

There was an article on Supergroups, but it just got too laden with advertisements. A short section in the main CoH article is enough information. We don't want it to get too much like a fansite's game guide. Ryūlóng 06:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Alight, but im going to change what is there now, just to include the basic information about Supergroups, ill keep it down to one paragraph. Carterhawk 16:17, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Sailor Moon Tuxedo Article

This is to conform with the formatting for the Sailor Moon Wikiproject. This is not making the page blank, but to put it into transition for some serious editing, expanding, etc. If you would like to confirm, please read the talk page before jumping to conclusions. This is NOT making the page blank but cutting irrelevant material. Please check the Wikipedia project pages. I'll be done with it soon and will be filling back the info that was lost. So, I would highly suggest reading the TALK pages before doing reverts on a series you are not participating in the project for. I know what I'm doing. And I haven't finished yet. Thank you. If you would like to object, take it up with the Sailor Moon project. Refoprmatting a page takes time, info cutting and then readding. Give me a chance to finish and make a note and confer before reverting and then warning me. *returns to edits*--Hitsuji Kinno 07:53, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I was going to come defend her, but looks like she's done a good job of it herself. So yeah, don't worry; this has all been discussed, and the article will be better for it when we're done. Thanks for your concern, though; if it'd been anyone else diving in and deleting stuff, I would've jumped on them too. XD --Masamage 17:48, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the archiving here. I've had a few very testing hours worth of dealing with this editor ingoring every warning link provided to them. Whilst I try to remember not to WP:BITE newcomers, this editor began a course of disruption earlier on and I had them under watch. Good to see somebody else out there (yes, yourself!) has some patience ;) Would you be willing to accept a barnstar for your efforts both here, and your excellent efforts in vandal reporting of late? -- Longhair\talk 08:56, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

24.23.51.27 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) asked me to request you contact him/her on their talk page. You can see the conversation i have had with this user to date on my talk page. Thanks David D. (Talk) 09:20, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I had seen your reversions through my vandalism watch tools, as well as his commentary on your talk page. I felt that you were correct in reverting him where you had, and I had continued that at the other pages. If he needs to contact me, I have User talk:Ryulong/Unprotected. Ryūlóng 09:24, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I sort of think you should not have reverted him here. Sure the things said might be offensive, but wikipedia is not censored on that basis. It would appear that he was *trying* to make a contribution to the discussion. --Blue Tie 12:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Regarding my other edit(s)

I am sure you are aware of the situation I'm in; you probably have read the discussion I had with David. Thanks for providing this link for me.

I want to know why you had also reverted some of my other edit(s) which are unrelated to the series of edits I made which you deemed "vandalism". One particular edit, I reverted an edit made by a user who failed to give me any explanation of why s/he removed a large piece of an article. You had reverted my revert, and I would like to know why. The other reverts you made against my I can understand. 24.23.51.27 09:29, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

For the same reasons that David had originally reverted you. All of the talk pages were for articles were in more or less the same area of study, and all (but the article) contained your same message. Unless you have already undid my false reversion on the article, I will revert myself (after I read more into the history of the article). Ryūlóng 09:32, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I have just found out that you have no only reverted the series of edits I made which you called vandalism (this I have no problem with); I found that you also reverted OTHER edits I did, even if they were a few days ago, including the Deulist Convocation International article I had edited. I Would like that all these False-Reverts be corrected so that I won't have to go back and re-edit everything I've done over the past week.
I understand you are know for your fight against vandalism, but if this is how you carry out your "fight"; but reverting everything over the past week; then I personally would not recommend you for Administrative rights. I don't understand how this could have happened, and I shudder to think of how many false-reverts you have made to others as a result of this technique. Why do you assume the edits I have made over the past week are all inter-related? 24.23.51.27 09:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Trigger finger, my bad. I had realized that I reverted one that was a bit too far back, so I have just fixed it right now. And also, the WHOIS link that you speak of on David's talk is a link provided by {{IPuser}}. I hope you accept my apology for mistakenly reverting you elsewhere. Ryūlóng 09:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Ryulong, I want to respectfully say (because you may eventually become an Admin. :) that your "trigger-finger" approach or "shotgun" approach isn't working for you. The reason I think you were denied being an Admin. the first time is because you look at fighting Vandalism as a way to rack up as many "points" as you can. The way to approach it is not to treat this as a game, but to consider each anti-vandal action you take. You MAY be merely creating more mess by removing it (I'm exagerating of course). Takes a lot to be an admin., what can I tell ya'? But thanks for reverting some of my real-vandalism. 24.23.51.27 09:49, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for the constructive criticism, but this was truly a "woops, shouldn't have clicked there" thing that I did not fix immeadiately (save for at the alpha roll page, which has been fixed, anyway, which I had reverted based on the time frame). Ryūlóng 09:51, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
And now, I must sign off if I want to have more than four hours of sleep tonight. Ryūlóng 09:53, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Ryulong, no problem. I just hope this won't happen again. I was wondering if you plan on reverting me if I was to re-add my questions to just 1 article (namely, the Race and IQ article) so that I could get some answers. David seemed to advocated this. I am still wondering what the WHOIS link is for, and why my personal information is put out there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.23.51.27 (talk) .
I would not object to that. Ryūlóng 21:57, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Image deletion log

Hi there... you comments about the image deletion log blanking you left on my talk page is not correct. Here is the quote from the top of the page:

Note: Some of these pages may be fully or partially blanked. For a complete archive of what was nominated for deletion, you may need to check the page history. Strikeouts are completely blanked. Pages should be kept as blanked for archival reasons.

Also, please have a look at the history of Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2006 March 3 which shows another user doing exactly what I am doing. I am only removing the items where the discussion resulted in the deletion of the article. Any entries that are still pending (but why it is pending from March I do not know) are being left. It does not seem like the IfDs are handled the same way as AfDs. Thanks.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 21:31, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm

What's up with this edit? It seemed like a pretty routine complaint.--Jimbo Wales 00:09, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I had originally reverted that because it was already a complaint filed on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Centrx about Centrx's deletion of a user and user talk of a user who had made no contributions to Wikipedia outside of it (Naruto 2.0 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log)). Since it was a duplicate posting that has been answered very well, and with Mr. B&W Anime Fan (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log)'s history of disruption, I felt that it was unnecessary for him to have complained about Centrx (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) actions at both AN/I and your user talk. It's definitely still on as far as I can tell, but I don't know what's new. Someone at RB is providing RAW encodes of the web videos, but he's only done it up to ep. 5. Arrow 00:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I have it watchlisted, it's just that there's been no editting for a while. I figured that there hasn't been much of anything on that front in a while. I guess it's hard to find someone who can understand Thai enough for us to get more information for the page. Ryūlóng 00:56, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Very true. There's only one person I know on RB who understands Thai, and I haven't seen him in some time. Perhaps I should PM him. On the "is the show still going" note, I checked the official site just to be sure. I can't figure out what the last episode to air was, but the forum is still running full blast, there's recent candid pictures of the cast (less than a week and a half old), and Gymnastic Pink's actress added a blog post three days ago, so it's definitely still airing. Arrow 01:16, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
That'd be good, but it'd be a little useless unless he wants to watch them/knows to fansub. Ryūlóng 01:16, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, first of all let me say thanks for your recent maintainance work on Bleach-related articles. However, please note that frequent Bleach-related article editors have agreed on naming conventions for Bleach-related articles, many of them are in archives of Talk:Bleach (manga). I'm mainly talking about writing hollow/arrancar in lowercase. If you want to suggest a change in convention, please bring it up in the talk page. Thanks, Ynhockey (Talk) 19:19, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I apologize. I did not know that hollow and arrancar were put in lowercase; I thought that they were proper nouns and should have been capitalized. Thank you for pointing me to my error, and I will not repeat those little mistakes when I go about editting Bleach articles. Ryūlóng 20:18, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Megashilva

Sorry about the confusion, earlier, i am a bit new at this, and wanted to resolve this problem quickly.

Further, i would like to make a comment on another edit i made and bring it to your attention, in dinothunder it was that dinothunder was the first time that since in space that the series had the rangers in high school, well that is not correct if you look at my edit, i would like to say that my edit on that page was more correct since the rangers were living on the ship which spent most of their time there so it is logical that the rangers were not in school but turbo was the last time that the rangers were in school. please dont put a warning on that i am sorry about the confusion and will in the future write my suggestions to you and let you do the editing instead.

It is just that there is too much trivial information on the articles. While you are right, it's just that we don't need that info there. Ryūlóng 01:16, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Civil?

In an attempt to keep the Ceres discussion on topic I thought I'd come here. There was nothing un-civil about describing a scare-mongering tactic as scare-mongering. You labelling me as un-civil was actually probably less civil. aLii 07:31, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

"Scare-mongering" is just an incivil way to put it. Now, WP:AGF please. Ryūlóng 07:32, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Opinion needed

Could you look at the edits made by User:Alec - U.K. I've reverted a few - but I think there are lot of factual errors being introduced, but I'm not sure enough to revert them. E.g. Tulse Hill railway station - the first line of the table at the bottom looks wrong. A lot of the edits seem to add non-useful content e.g. Olympic size swimming pool or POV or unsourced info. Some edits look totally ok, some are very off almost as though two different people are making edits. --ArmadilloFromHell 04:16, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

On the Incident report for User:Lightning-Feather, I hope that the listing will stay as small as possible, since passers-by are apt to ignore long discussions. So, could you please add the diff you linked to into my comment above, and then delete your comment? CRCulver 22:46, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Er, I don't know if it's at all necessary. People will read it regardless of length. Ryūlóng 22:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I hope so. It's just that I've had plenty of Incident reports go un-acted upon, and the text at the top does advise that things stay as small as possible so that people don't just pass on by, so I wasn't sure. CRCulver 22:58, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:AMA Requests for Assistance/Requests/October 2006/Lightning-Feather. He's asking that I not be allowed to protest his vanity edits without a Jewish editor on my side. Reverting

You were warning him after he was blocked. This is why I'm reverting you. Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:36, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
I warned him BEFORE he was blocked. Check the logs:
My comment: 20:24, 14 October 2006 (hist) (diff) User talk:Kyereh Mireku (Kyereh)
Block log: 20:28, 14 October 2006 Grandmasterka (Talk | contribs | block) blocked "Kyereh Mireku (contribs)"
And even if I had warned him after he was blocked, that doesn't give you an excuse to delete my comments. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 10:42, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
I apologize then. I only knew that the message was there when I checked my contribs after his block. Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:43, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and you removed him from AIV right after Grandmasterka blocked him (both 10:28 UTC). Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:45, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't know what that has to do with anything but obviously it happened simultaneously. I was trying to give him a chance to stop because I know he is a child, but I also happen to agree with the block and was on the verge of doing it myself. There is no reason to delete non-disruptive, non-vandal comments from other people's talk pages, but especially not administrative comments. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 10:51, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, having three blocks would be a problem, however it appears he had stopped by the time I signed on, anyway. However, I believe I am working against a copycat now (maybe the subscription to the other IP ended for that computer (once I check the whois). Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:47, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Ryulong. Thanks for your hard work patrolling for vandals. You'll make the admin's decision whether or not to block easier if you warn them more fully. Take them through {{test1}}, {{test2}}, {{test3}}, and {{test4}} before reporting them. If they're especially vandalistic, start them with a {{bv}} and treat that as the equivalent of a test3. As an admin, the first thing I do is go look for the "final warning" on their talk page; then I check to see if they've vandalized after that. If they haven't, or haven't been sufficiently warned, it makes the decision more complicated. Anyway, all the best. Bucketsofg 02:09, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Okay. Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:10, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Staves vs. Staffs on Power Rangers: Mystic Force

I asked both my english teacher and my sisters english professor, they said the proper way to spell the plural of staff when talking about a stick or weapon would be staves, when talking about employees and such, is when you would use the form staffs. Thought I'd post this here before I edit it xD

Intellectual dishonesty by SELECTIVE word manipulation.

Hi,

Could you please help with the posted views of Mdwh, Wiploc and 68.103.210.128?

Is there a way to lock the nontheism site? They are not discussing the issues first. They're simply stating that "non" "theism" = atheism (rather than nontheism). I explained in the history notes that according to the dictionary "non" can mean "of little or no consequence" like nonissue, which doesn’t mean a lack of an issue ("non" "issue" not equal to zero/no issue, just unimportant or irrelevant issue like nontheism).

But they don’t discuss first. They just “group post” the same point of view over and over again by joining two words from the dictionary to come up with their own personal meaning. In fact, that SELECTIVE MEANING from the MULTIPLE MEANINGS of “non” in the dictionary is their only citation or source, combining two words from the dictionary for their own personal point of view.

I do not have any more time to spend on this for the next few months, and I believe that Answer.com, which uses definitions from Wikipedia, will update its definition soon (I inquired and they said a manual update would happen soon). This means that a misleading definition reflecting only three points of view from Wikipedia may stay on Answer.com for a long time!

Sigh

Ok now I gotta explain it to you as well. I originally created "Who is Black" and someone else changed it to "definitions of black people" without an explanation. Still there is no explanation to this day. For some reason you and others seem to adhere to using "Definitions of Black People" and ignore the obvious unfairness of doing so. I've covered all the bases, I've explained my position, I've sought arbitration, and I've not received a proper response from anyone. At this point it is wrong and totally out of Wikipedian rules to continue to change the original title. --Zaphnathpaaneah 06:37, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Just leave it be. "Definitions of black people" is a much better title. Go discuss it at the talk page if you wish to change it, again. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:39, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

rollback of User:Zisoc

Did you look at the edits he had made? Most of them looked to be solid to me. Tagging something with {{db-noimage}} when the description page is empty and the file is from commons isn't disruption, neither is tagging an image to match its description etc. Where was the actual problem? - Bobet 07:08, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I was going off what had been said, and I looked through a handful that were taggings of {{db-noimage}} when there was an image; whether or not that image is on the commons I did not check, but several were on en-wiki. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 07:10, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
The ones I looked weren't. Only thing there was, was the description page from commons and a link to the image there. The actual content on en-wiki that made it appear that there was a page was the description page here, which was blank (or only had a category). - Bobet 07:13, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Not your fault...

I tried to diffuse this guy. He did a C&P and got caught. Now he's playing a race card, for crying out loud. I am SO angry that I am shaking. He's been warned. I'm shocked it took this long for someone to block him. He totally destroyed the black people article, transforming it into an uncited POV personal essay and edit wars causing it to be protected. He even managed to destroy the black people talk page which is dominated by his ranting, raving, and race baiting. I got so tired of trying to deal with him that I put all my energy into the Definitions of black people article. If someone can redirect the protected and POV black people article to the well cited and neutral Definitions of black people article, that would be great. Timelist 09:05, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Or you could request that the article be unprotected and play about at will with what you want :). —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:08, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

He's been blocked for a month and I've protected his user and talk pages. It started as a 24-hour block but he just kept on and on and on. I actually feel sorry for this individual. I didn't block the article, at least I don't think I did. If it's protected, I'll unlock it and let an editor with some level of reason have at it. - Lucky 6.9 15:48, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

  • After chatting with Timelist, it's clear to me that this guy was a loose cannon. The "Who is Black" was nothing more than a C&P of the original article, something that a user with a "ton of edits" should hav known not to do. I thought you'd speedied it because it was a plagiarized original work with a bizarre title. He's gone for good. I'll deal with any repercussions later.  :) - Lucky 6.9 16:59, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Blue Alien Ranger color

When I use "sky blue" with the noted space, it appears a darker shade of cyan, one that almost exactly matches that of the blue Alien Ranger. RabidPanda V 19:39, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, "sky blue" with the space gives me just white in FireFox, the "skyblue" gives me the color you are probably seeing; this is why I have switched it to the hex values/cyan, again. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:55, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

"Forever Red" vandalism

Could you please look into the vandalism on the "Forever Red" page. There is an elaborate hoax by one user to fabricate a "Forever Red" movie... he alluded to it in the lead to the FR article and created an article about it to seemingly validate his hoax. It is pretty obvious that it is a fake by looking at the page. Thanks! RabidPanda V 19:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I've tagged it for speedy deletion and listed the guy at AIV for his long history of hoax articles. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:03, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

K. N. D. Stuff

I've offered to help Narfers02 with moving the KND episode pages from "Op." to "Operation" like Lucky 6.9 suggested on his/her talk page. I noticed you said for him/her to slow down. Should I discontinue? -WarthogDemon 07:42, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

He's just going so fast that it's impossible to clean-up after him. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 07:43, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I'll go ahead and fix up whatever he misses, but I won't move pages right off the bat then. Don't want to make things go even faster. o_O -WarthogDemon 07:50, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

sorry

when i get started in something, i dont like to stop till i have completed a section of it. i just started to edit things tonight, so im very very very new to this. i want to fix those, but i first want to move the rest of the ep. recaps to the episode list page. and i saw somewhere on there that someone said Ep. vs Episode: so i changed them all to ep. but i didnt realize that was wrong, so ill work on changing those back. and also, you really dont have to look over anything, i just copied and pasted from the one page to the other, i didnt edit anything else into or out of them.---Narhyn P.S.im a girl, not a guy. its hard to tell from my name, but its pronounced Nair-ren - —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Narfers02 (talkcontribs) .

I treid to make her stop, but she's just going on and on. It's all copy-pastes from List of Codename: Kids Next Door episodes or something. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:38, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

JS Tool

Hello! I've noticed edit summaries such as this: "JS: Requesting speedy deletion." I was curious to know which tool you're using, and whether it's freely available or just something you came up with yourself. I've used vandalproof, et.al., but I'm always looking to try new stuff. Thanks! --NMChico24 04:55, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

V for Vendetta

You don't think it's deceiving to have the main "V" page be for the Comic book? Cnota 05:31, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

No. V for Vendetta was a popular comic book before it was a popular movie, there are only two V for Vendettas, and the main article should be about the one that is more knowledgeable. Please see WP:DAB. —Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:32, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
I understand it was first, but the majority of people who have seen the film and don't even know about the comic book is larger than those who do know about the comic book at all, let alone read it.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cnota (talkcontribs) .

Upcoming template changes

Hi, I've just noticed that you recently left a templated userpage message. I'm just bringing to your attention that the format and context of these templates will be shortly changing. It is recommended that you visit WikiProject user warnings and harmonisation discussion pages to find out how these changes could affect the templates you use. We also would appreciate any insights or thoughts you may have on the subject. Thanks for your understanding. Best regards Daniel.Bryant 09:40, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Beware of sneaky middle name vandal

I'm not sure if your bot can detect this type of activity, but you want be out the lookout for this user User talk:85.210.236.29 [3]

Found this sneaky vandal that makes edits to include fictitious middle names in articles such as Sinbad (actor) Howard Brown Stuart Parnaby Darius Vassell Mark Copani Matt Wiese Tommy Dreamer and others.

Mostly English football players and American professional wrestlers.

In one odd case the article Arnold Schwarzenegger, the vandal added the fictitious middle name Avlot, another corrected it with a sourced real middle name of Alois.

Who is report: Also because it a dynamic IP address, also used this IP User talk:85.210.235.250, and perhaps even more. ▪◦▪=Sirex98= 11:26, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use images in lists

Hello, I see you have contributed your thoughts to Wikipedia talk:Fair use/Fair use images in lists. It's been dead for a while, but I have archived it and taken a new fresh start. I hope this time we will be able to achieve something as I have summarized the main points of both sides (feel free to improve them) and I call you to express your support or oppose on the concrete proposal that I have formulated. Thanks, Renata 02:35, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Miami, USA

Only the one. I know it, you know it... but does every English language reader of Wiki? If I were to refer to the cities of Blackburn or Montrose I would include the nation, as I am aware that many people outside of England and Scotland do not know the general location - and since I think there should be conformity within all articles I therefore add an United States link where appropriate. Obviously your userpage - as much as it really belongs to Wiki, but you are responsible for the contents - is your own affair so I apologise for my little joke. Take care. LessHeard vanU 20:21, 28 October 2006 (UTC) ps. Geology - easy subject; it is either rock or non-rock, any more detail is hair splitting!

Well, how many University of Miamis are there? :P Oh, and I can't minor in geology anymore, that's why I changed it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:31, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Werdnabot on article talk pages

Werdnabot should not be used for article talk pages. Discussions on articles should not be archived based on date. This is only appropriate for noticeboards and if a user so chooses user talk pages. —Centrxtalk • 03:11, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Whereas on user talk pages the user sees all messages that come to him and handles them in the amount of time he so chooses, an article might have open issues for months. Unlike administrative noticeboards, an article talk page might be heavily active and then completely inactive with no one dealing with comments about the article. —Centrxtalk • 03:20, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Rollback

Why are you reverting these edits like vandalism vandalism[4]?Voice-of-All 04:48, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry, a crapload of it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:14, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Repeatedly reverting doesn't do much. It is not a big deal if some erroneous thing is on the page for a little while. The lasting solution is to get someone to protect the page or block the accounts. —Centrxtalk • 05:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Hallo Thar!

I have opened another RfA for you...You deserve another shot, methinks. The link is here, so answer the questions and accept! Remember to post the page on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship when you're done, and good luck! ~ PHDrillSergeant...§ 04:12, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Your RfA

Ryulong, I recently participated in your RfA with a Neutral leaning Support. I was hoping you could address the issues that were brought up about the use of {{bv}}, as well as WP:BITE that is mentioned in the 4th archive of your talk page. I'm very much on the fence and this could clarify things for me. Thanks, AuburnPilottalk 06:48, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

The {{bv}} was more than likely an overreaction by myself to someone doing a British English-American English switch in an article (I cannot really remember when it had happened) and the WP:BITE that they are referring to was more than likely my own transitions on addressing the faults brought forward at my first RFA. I do not know if Dlohcierekim refers to something early in the month of September (which makes it more like two months ago) or late in the month (which is much closer to a single month ago at this time). I have been working on everything brought up, and with this second RFA, I will definitely continue to try to improve on what the opposes bring up (which is increasing as we speak).—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Re:Zarbat's Australian Aborigine moves

Hi Ryulong - I suspect that Zarbat is correct to move those pages to the new names he's giving them. It looks like the reason is that the pages are supposed to deal with both groups of indigenous Australians (Australian Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders). As such, the term "indigenous Australian" is - as (s)he explains in the edit summaries - the more inclusive term. Grutness...wha? 11:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
