Warning

[edit]

R9t and Lucpol, to both of you: this is a final warning. You both went back to blind reverts on Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union immediately after that last block. You've been doing this for many weeks now, without any constructive discussion. I expect you guys to start discussing now and work it out together. If I see any more non-consensual reversions of this material in the article, you will both be blocked for a good long time. Fut.Perf. 10:26, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to George W. Bush, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Gwernol 01:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You added "In March 2003, Bush ordered an invasion of Iraq, due to the purposely manipulated information of the belief that Iraq" – that's your opinion, not a fact. If you don't understand that this is opinion, then I suggest you stop editing, since you clearly don't understand the concept of neutrality at all. Gwernol 01:39, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wiedervereinigung

[edit]

Wiedervereinigung. I deleted those edit because they were distructive and agressive. But Pan Turkism, WHICH I ALSO OPPOSE, is only romantical and historical. That's why I deleted them.

And can you expalin your anti-turkish POV to me please. What could a norwegian-american-german-etc..ian mixed person suffer from turks? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Birisi (talkcontribs) 06:49, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for long

[edit]

You just came back from two week-long blocks, you got my warning just above, and yet you continued several of your old longterm revert wars today (on Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union [1], on Free City of Danzig [2], on Oksywie culture [3], and on Alsace [4]) and started new edit wars on other titles such as Vincent Bochdalek [5] and George W. Bush [6]. This can't be tolerated. Following my warning, I'm blocking you again for a longer period: one month this time. Please when you come back make sure you very seriously reconsider your attitude to Wikipedia editing, otherwise you'll soon be indef-blocked next time. Fut.Perf. 06:12, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't strike out valid and ongoing block messages. The rest I am ignoring due to the inappropriate language and shouting. When you are calm enough to discuss this rationally, you can add an {{unblock}} request. Gwernol 21:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WHY SHOULD I ADD AN UNBLOCK REQUEST? I WONT BE UNBLOCKED... AND WHY SHOULD I BE HERE AT ALL IF I CANNOT EDIT CONSTRUCTIVELY WITHOUT BEING HARRASSED EVERY DAY? HMM, TELL ME THAT!!!!??? WHY SHOULD I STAY CALM AND ACT CIVIL WHEN PEOPLE DONT ACT THAT WAY TO ME?
Its fine with me if you don't ask for an unblock. If you don't ask for one, your block won't be lifted. The allegation that you are being blocked because you are German is simply false, but if it makes you feel better to believe that, please do. However, making such unfounded allegations makes is significantly less likely that anyone will take you seriously here. When you are able to edit constructively, we will all welcome your contributions. So far you have not demonstrated that. Gwernol 22:07, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
THATS BECAUSE ALL MY EDITS ARE REVERTED, COVERED UP, AND PARADED INSTEAD AS "VANDALISM." I DONT NEED TO PAY TAXES IF THERE IS NONE TO PAY. -- Hrödberäht (gespräch) 22:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TELL THE TRUTH...

IM TIRED OF THIS FOR THE LAST TIME, IM F/KING TIRED OF BEING BULLIED FOR NOTHING. I ALWAYS VERRY SERIOUSLY CONSIDER MY EDITING TO WIKIPEDIA... AND I MAKE GOOD EDITS... I WISH SOMEONE COULD JUST TAKE A GUN AND BLOW MY FUCKING BRAINS OUT. JUST BECAUSE USERS DONT LIKE THE MATERIAL I ADD I AM BLOCKED! I DEMAND TO BE UNBLOCKED... I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG ANED THE MANIPULATED INFORMATION ABOUT ME HAS CAUSED EXTREME BIAS AGAINST ME. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO BLOCK Tulkolahten (talk · contribs) or Space Cadet (talk · contribs), AS I DO NOT MAKE ATTACKS AGAINST THEM BUT I AM CONSTANTLY ATTACKED, I AM SO TIRED OF MY EDITS BEING REJECTED AUTOMATICALLY AS VANDALISM AND I BETTER GET MY JUSTICE HERE.
  • Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union WHY IS IT PERMITTED THAT WE HAVE AN ARTICLE WHICH IS ALMOST A 80% COPY OF THE Katowice ARTICLE???? I TRIED IMPROVING IT AT MY BEST...BUT STILL IM CALLED A VANDAL....
  • Kaliningrad – SPACE CADET KEEPS BOLDENING AN HISTORICAL NAME ..>WHICH WAS NEVER USED IN ENGLISH EVEN.... I GOT BLOCKED FOR DOING THAT BUT WHEN I REVERT HIS EDITS I AM CALLED A VANDAL?
  • Alsace – PARIS75000 ADDED SOMETHING ABOUT PEACE OF WESTPHALIA CONFIRMING THE HEINOUS ACTIONS OF LOUIOS XIV ANNEXING ALSACE... WHEN IN REALIUTY PEACE OF WESTPHALIA DIDNT GIVE HIM ALSACE AT ALL....HE CONQUERED IT HIMSELF....

  • Vincent Bochdalek - Tulkolahten (talk · contribs) VANDALIZED THE PAGE AFTER I ADDED THE CORRECT ENGLISH NAME, saying only RV...MIND TELLING ME AND EVERYONE ELSE WHY YOU REVERTED MY VALID AND BETTER EDITS , MY VERY GOOD TWEAKS TO THE PAGE? Tulkolahten (talk · contribs) REVERTS MY REVERTING OF THE VANDALISM AND MY ADDING OF A UNREFERENECED TAG AND CLAIMS "REVERTED VANDALISM"... HAHA I AM THE VANDAL? ILL BE HAPPY WHEN YOU ARE ALL DEAD, YOU WILL DESERVE THE DETENTION IN TRUTH CAMP, YOU WILL FINALLY LEARN THAT COVERING UP THE FACTS WITH LIES WILL RUIN YOUR SOUL, AND DAMN YOU FOREVER.
  • George W. Bush- THE ONLY THING THAT I EVEN DID WRONG HERE IS THE ADDTION OF ONE POV SENTENCE APPARENTLY ... WHICH I STOPPED ADDING THANK YOU.....BUT STILL ALL MY EDITS WERE REVERTED , REGARDLESS IF THEY WERE HELPFUL OR NOT... IM SHOCKED THAT SOMEONE CONSIDERS SMETHING THAT I HAVE STOPED DOING TO A SCAPEGOAT TO MURDER ME.

-Assessments-
An intial round of assessments was recently done on all pages within the scope of WPND. These initial assessments...all 1,200 of them...were done by MatthewUND. Matthew tried to generally follow the assessment guidelines found at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment.

To see the assessment of any North Dakota page, simply go to the page's talk page and check the WPND banner. The assessment is presented in a color-coded field in the WPND banner. To change an assessment, edit the page and change the word after "class=" in the WPND banner. Add one of the following codes:

Stub – for very small articles
Start – for slightly longer, higher quality articles
B – for high quality articles of an appropriate length
List – for lists
Cat – for categories
Template – for templates
NA – for pages that are not articles, templates, or categories

Any WPND member should feel free to change any page's assessment. However, keep in mind that there are assessments (particularly GA for "Good Article" or FA for "Featured Article") which can't be applied without having gone through a nomination process.

---North Dakota Portal---
Wikipedia now has a new portal devoted exclusively to the state of North Dakota. Check out Portal:North Dakota.

WPND member NDCompuGeek has constructed the initial framework for the portal and it should now be easy to update the portal on a month-by-month basis. The portal will serve as a kind of "front door" for people using Wikipedia to learn more about North Dakota. It is a great starting point for branching out into the many aspects of the state.

Each month a different article, picture, city, and biography will be showcased along with current news and happenings from around the state. The July version of the portal showcases the Mandan tribe, Governor John Hoeven, and the capital city of Bismarck.

Visit the portal's talk page to share your opinions and ideas regarding the portal.

List of best-selling handheld video games

[edit]

Hi R9tgokunks. You are off to such a great start on the article List of best-selling handheld video games that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. The Main Page gets about 4,000,000 hits per day and appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at Did you know suggestions for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 21:01, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Detroit Lakes, Minnesota Page

[edit]

The inaccuracy that you added to the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota page was not appropriate. Many have been working hard on this WikiProject Minnesota page, only to have it repeatedly vandalized. To claim without factual evidence that the high school has a "high drop out rate" is completely against the ethical standards of this encyclopedia. As this is your first of such on this page, we will give you the benefit of the doubt that it was done out of good faith. I welcome you to contribute factual information to the page, but I kindly ask you to refrain from further vandalizing it. Thank you for understanding. UMINN44 26 July 2007

News
---Grand Forks now a Featured Article---
Grand Forks, North Dakota was recently designated as a Featured Article. This means that the article has gone through a nomination process in which it was reviewed and its quality was assessed. The fact that this article made it through the process shows that it is a high quality, well-written, well-sourced article. Currently, there are only a little over 1,500 Featured Articles in the almost two million articles on the English language Wikipedia. That means that only about one in 1,270 articles has been given this designation.

The Grand Forks article is a great example to follow when working on other city articles, particularly those about North Dakota cities. We would be very well off if our other major city articles were similar to the Grand Forks article. Keep the Grand Forks article bookmarked and refer to its structure and style when you work on similar articles.

---New assessment parameter---
You're likely aware that all WPND articles now include a quality rating located on the article's talk page. Now, a new assessment parameter is being implemented. The importance rating aims to gauge the "importance" of the article's subject as it relates to North Dakota. As an example, Bismarck, North Dakota would not be considered as being very important in relation to the country or the world, but it is of top importance when considering just the state of North Dakota.

The importance of each article is gauged as either Top, High, Mid, or Low. Since "importance" is a rather subjective term, some WPND members are trying to come up with a general set of guidelines. Check out this thread on the WPND talk page to see proposals and to share your own opinions of what is and isn't "important" in the state.

Please help to improve and expand these articles which were recently added to the WPND project:
Cities Area Transit | Dakota Territory Air Museum | Fight On Sioux | Fort Totten State Historic Site | Grand Forks Chiefs | It's For You, North Dakota U | List of people from Grand Forks, North Dakota | Log Cabin Museum, Sheyenne, ND | McKenzie Electric Cooperative | North Dakota Democratic-Independent Party | North Dakota Railroad Commission | North Dakota State Cabinet | Old Main (Minot State University-Bottineau) | Pembina State Museum | Politics of North Dakota | Ruth Meiers Hospitality House | Spirit Lake Casino | Stand Up and Cheer (song) | Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation | UND Alma Mater

Splitting of List of best-selling video games

[edit]

Please stop splitting the article. It is becoming vandalism. If you had actually read the Wikipedia:Article size page clearly, you would realize that there is no such requirement, especially for lists. What the article does clearly state is that you should not be hasty and should discuss the proposed split with other editors before doing so. I'm sorry, but Wikipedia rules are vastly more judicial than a person's opinion. So please stop this and discuss on the talk page first. Zomic_13 02:10, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please consider uploading your improved version "Image:Historisches deutsches Sprachgebiet2.PNG" of the disputed "Image:Historisches deutsches Sprachgebiet2.PNG" also to Commons, preferably by updating the disputed version with yours, also to end that edit war there. Currently, no article links to your version. -- Matthead discuß!     O       14:41, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Over at commons, the edit war was stopped, Rex' version with big red letters now gone. Yours is still better than the current by Postmann.-- Matthead discuß!     O       18:51, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! If you want to upload your image to Commons, please use a different name, such as "Image:Historisches deutsches Sprachgebiet2.PNG". That way projects them selves can choose which version to use, and at the moment the other image is protected, so it can't be overwritten. Samulili 05:43, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. Can't pictures be transferred from Wikis to commons automatically? I thought that was done some time ago.-- Matthead discuß!     O       20:21, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please desist from this sort of vandalism, will you? JDG 18:27, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh...my...g-- your wiseguy response on my Talk page led me to review a bit of your edit history. You have got to be one of the most poisonous editors I've yet come across. You are exactly the sort who introduces dozens upon dozens of small, hard to catch errors, the sort who really may keep Wikipedia from being a respected reference tool in academic and professional circles. I strongly urge Administrators and Bureaucrats to review the many, many errors flowing from this individual and to take steps immediately to protect Wikipedia from him. Here is one editor's compilation of a few days' worth of r9tgokunks toxic input:

The history of that article seems to show this is the IP address of User:R9tgokunks (see 29 September). Further evidence for this comes from looking at the history of the article Calque – cf ([9], [10], [11] and then your latest experience [12]); also cf Prekmurje ([13] and [14] – anyone for grammer?), Spitz ([15], [16]) or [17] with [18].

Overall, I suspect at least Special:Contributions/172.190.32.51 (numerous warnings on talkpage), [19] (that you encountered first), [20], (one block from you) and Special:Contributions/209.244.42.97 (much edit-warring in history and almost identical edits here, here and [21]) are User:R9tgokunks.
Personally, I'm worried about the amount of just plain wrong information this editor is including – even if it's written in the best of faith, it leads people astray. See here, here, here, here, here, here and here for a sample of mistakes I've corrected. Looking at [22], he knows a little German, but certainly not enough to avoid simple errors when editing German language related articles. A little knowledge can indeed be a dangerous thing – see [23].
It might be worth having a chat with User:Future Perfect at Sunrise who blocked them previously for edit-warring and knows more about them. Might be worth a checkuser too. Knepflerle 12:43, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Please do something about this guy. JDG 23:01, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help me get this project of the ground and a few Nine Inch Nails pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Nin limitless potential.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nin limitless potential.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Please stop messing with etymologies

[edit]

Haven't we been through this often enough? Please stop messing with etymologies. You have no grasp of this field whatsoever. Wherever you've made edits to etymological information in the past, they were all wrong and they were all reverted. Your edits today are no different. Please just give it up.
