If you'd like some help with editing or otherwise, you can sign up at the new users log, post a question at the Help Desk, or ask me on my talk page.

Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. It is a good idea to read the most recent entries at the bottom of the Talk page of an existing article before making major changes to it, to see if your proposed change has been discussed before. Before I make a major change to an article, I often make a proposal on the Talk page to see if anyone minds.

Again, welcome! -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:36, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Pendlewitch. First, the day and month are already given at the top of the article, so it is redundant, and not customary among the higher-quality articles on Wikipedia, to repeat that information when describing the death near the end of an article. Second, the ref should generally go at the end of a sentence, unless it is important to clarify which reference pertains to which part of a sentence. It doesn't matter that the source does not do the arithmetic to calculate the age -- that is a purely mathematical process. You should also note the n-dashes that I put in instead of the hyphens. See MOS:DASH. Finally, in your citations, you need to put in the name of the article or webpage. For example, the page about May Fortescue should be called "May Fortescue" in the reference. I know that there is a lot to learn here, but if you read the links that I left above for you, it should help you. Feel free to ask me if you have any further questions! I've been around for more than 10 years and have edited thousands of articles, including quite a few WP:Featured articles. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:41, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
