Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello PAper GOL! Your additions to Mediterranean Sea have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:00, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello. And thanks for the information. I appreciate your help about cpyright, Cause I wouldn't like to run into more copyright issues.PAper GOL (talk) 19:51, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you recently removed content from Rivera without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Belbury (talk) 09:23, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hello.
- Thanks for informing. This time I provided an edit summary which also addresses the source of my change.PAper GOL (talk) 11:05, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! I actually meant your removal of numbers from the table, but looking back at your edit again perhaps they were being autofilled anyway? Sorry for wasting your time, I was just going back through the edit history looking for the last good version, after some vandalism. Belbury (talk) 11:09, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- Year parameters in Template:Weather box are filled automatically, (either average or sum) so even if their values are deleted or not filled by users it would not be left empty.PAper GOL (talk) 11:12, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of cities in Europe by sunshine duration, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Varna. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:04, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi, PAper GOL, and thank you for your edits.
I have noticed a recent pattern where you seem to make edits that are not formatted well, or include bad prose. Prose can be tricky of course, but I would encourage you to at least fix formatting issues on your edits, like here [1] where you have included the 3-letter abbreviation in the link and not followed proper spacing. This is also a common problem with your weatherboxes, as the titles of the weatherboxes often look badly formatted and spaced; please note especially that a parenthesis needs to follow a space. Therefore "data for City(normals 1991-2020)" is wrong and should be replaced with "data for City (normals 1991-2020)".
Thanks again for your valuable edits to climate pages. Uness232 (talk) 03:01, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Western Australia
[edit]Already has enough weather boxes for locations within the state, and some for locations the proximity between some inclusions will probably see some removed, as the variation in weather over distances is marginal. Thanks for your edits, but there are probably enough thank you. JarrahTree 00:22, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

Tehran
[edit]Hey. About the article Tehran, my main change was related to the citations, while I've also did some other minor changes. The problem is that Wikipedia has limits, and I can't do long summary with full details, so if you think I've changed stuff and didn't explain, that's why. Farnaj57 (talk) 09:14, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there
- I know you can't make long summaries, but if you have summary for only part of your edits, then why not just edit that part? The entirety of your changes has a major effect on the article and the revision history shows several reverts on your changes.
- I suggest you to create a discussion about changes with the editors that undo your edits in the city's talk page, and you can also provide a full summary in there (like I did with the Firuzkuh thing).PAper GOL (talk) 09:22, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Because I did all of it in just one edit, there is no need to do mass edits just for minor changes. No need to create a discussion too, as I've said, my main change was the citations, and its not even a change, its improvements. The problem is that inexperienced users with an overall 30-50 edits are reverting stuff, and for that, I have requested page protection and its pending. Farnaj57 (talk) 09:34, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

- But even then, there are 7 or 8 reverts. You must discuss such matter, and this is WP's rules, not my personal ones.
- The problem is that inexperienced users with an overall 30-50 edits are reverting stuff: They might be inexperienced in Wikipedia, but it does not mean that they have no knowledge at all (Not all of them are inexperienced with just 30-50 edits by the way). You should explain your changes if you see them reverted all the time, re-reverting is not quite helpful for you here. PAper GOL (talk) 09:45, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- If anyone see any problem with something, they should change that part alone, not reverting the whole thing. Anyway, the article is now fine, the citations are there, and you changed my minor changes. Now, before the article goes into a possible protection, let's keep an eye on the page together alright? Tehran has been my home since 1999, and I want its Wikipedia article to be perfect. Farnaj57 (talk) 09:58, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
