Thanks! I was just taking a look on Norwegian political parties, to see if I could contribute. Actually, some of them were just as detailed as on Norwegian wiki. Seems like there are more Norwegians than just me here...

Christian Democracy
[edit]DC was in government from 1945 to 1994, but by the beginning of January 1994 did not exist anymore and was split in different groups: the Italian People's Party, the Christian Democratic Centre, the Social Christians, some in Forza Italia (which is the true heir of DC for the votes and the strongholds) and some others in National Alliance. Everything is written in the relative articles. --Checco (talk) 15:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Pole of Freedoms vs. House of Freedoms
[edit]The House of Freedoms is actually the continuation of the Pole of Freedoms. That coalition was composed basically by FI and LN in 1994 and was present only in Central and Northern Italy. For the 1996 election, the coalition was composed of FI, AN, CCD and CDU (the LN had left and AN joined). In 2001 it was transformed in House of Freedoms with the re-entry of LN and CDU (which left it briefly between 1998 and 2000) and the joining of some small parties (NPSI and PRI, basically). --Checco (talk) 04:52, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Italian iw?
[edit]Hi Oddeivind,
(cur) (last) 07:56, 26 January 2008 Oddeivind (Talk | contribs) m (3,688 bytes) (The Italian iw leads to a none-existing page, therefore I delete it.) (undo)
sorry I put that link yesterday night but was too tired to work on it...
I will try to make the article this morning A.S.A.P.
Thanks for your interest in my country politics.
Maurice Carbonaro (talk) 08:02, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
P.S.: By the way could you please tell me what does "iw" stand for exactly? Oh, ok, I found it... thanks anyway...
- IW means interwiki, that is the links leading to similar articles in other languages. By the way, I noiticed that you put one in at the Norwegian wikipedia. However, you obviosulsy must have made a mistake, as you put it in with the English title.
- I have made a lot of articles about Italian political parties. Italian politics is quite confusing, with a lot of parties, often with a very short lifetime. It is strange with parties like the New Italian Socialist Party which is a member of the the rightwing House of Freedoms, despite claiming to be a Social Democratic party. --Oddeivind (talk) 08:14, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
FI and AN
[edit]History? Not yet and for many months to come. --Checco (talk) 07:48, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- So they will still be functioning even after the new party is officially founded? --Oddeivind (talk) 16:14, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Interview with Åse Kleveland
[edit]The English Wikinews is going to be organizing an interview with the former Norwegian Culture Minister Åse Kleveland. She was also the head of the Swedish Film Institute and is now the chairwoman of the Norwegian Humanist Association. I am asking Wikipedians from all of the Scandinavian languages to contribute questions to her upcoming interview with Wikinews in Oslo. The page is here; please leave questions there and comments to me either on my en.wikinews talk page or my en.wikipedia talk page. Thank you very much! Mike H. Fierce! 01:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of José Luis Munuera
[edit]A tag has been placed on José Luis Munuera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. RadioFan (talk) 20:38, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- It should be pretty obvious from the article why it is relevant, as it is the painter of one of Belgiums most well-known comics. Thus it is not only relevant, but indeed highly relevant. There are already an article made by someone else about the author Jean-David Morvan, and all the other persons who have taken part in creating the comic, not least Franquin himself. Deleting this article would also mean one would have to delete those articles, plus articles about people like Morris, Uderzo and Goscinny! --Oddeivind (talk) 20:45, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have now, in the article, made it even more obvious why Munuera is highly notable, as I have pointed out for those who knows nothing on the subject (and therebye are not really qualified to form an opinion) that Spirou et Fantasio is one of the most popular classic Franco-Belgian comic strips. Deleting such an article would be an extreme form of exclusionism. --Oddeivind (talk) 21:50, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
The article Semic Press has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Minimac (talk) 10:36, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I have asked some other people also to take a look at it and see if they can find some additional sources. I have added one external link so far. Most sources are probably in Scandinavian --Oddeivind (talk) 11:44, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Comments on Structuration theory appreciated!
[edit]Hi! My name is MJ. I've recently completed some pretty large-scale changes on the Structuration theory page. I saw that you've commented on Anthony Giddens's Talk page and wanted to invite you to read/offer comments/suggestions on Structuration theory, which Giddens pioneered. I'm trying to generate a conversation about the changes I've made-- readability, usability, clarity, comprehensiveness of content. I'd love to see you on the Talk page, I think your comments would be really helpful! Thanks! Mjscheer (talk) 23:47, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I must admit that I dont know that much about it, apart from that it deals with the relationship between structure and agent. --Oddeivind (talk) 14:08, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Invitation to wikiFeed
[edit]Hi Oddeivind,
I'm part of a team that is researching ways to help Wikipedia editors find interesting content to contribute to Wikipedia. More specifically, we are investigating whether content from news sources can be used to enhance Wikipedia editing. We have created a tool, called wikiFeed, that allows you to specify Twitter and/or RSS feeds from news sources that are interesting to you. wikiFeed then helps you make connections between those feeds and Wikipedia articles. We believe that using this tool may be a lot of fun, and may help you come up with some ideas on how to contribute to Wikipedia in ways that interest you. Please participate! To do so, complete this survey and follow this link to our website. Once you're there, click the "create an account" link to get started.
For more information about wikiFeed, visit our project page. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via my talk page, or by email at [email protected]. We appreciate your time and hope you enjoy playing with wikiFeed!
Thanks! RachulAdmas (talk) 21:37, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Redirect for List of cities in Costa Rica:
[edit]I noticed you removed the redirect for List of cities in Costa Rica to Cantons of Costa Rica. This list of "cities" is actually completely unsourced (the only source links to a general citypopulation.de with no specifics), and includes mostly cantons and a few random districts under the title of "cities". Cantons list is a more thorough list of "cities" than this one, since there is no official "city" designation in Costa Rica. Mattximus (talk) 21:39, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Wouldn´t the corresponding Spanish term be "ciudad"? I thought cantons were larger units than cities (more like counties/districts). The numbers in the article are obviously outdated, but doesn´t Wikipedia have a system where you updates city populations one particular place rather than in every article that mentions it? I haven´t been very active on Wikipedia the last years, but as far as I recall, there used to be such a system. If Costa Rica does not have any official designation like city/town, then maybe a list of municipalities in Costa Rica would be better? --Oddeivind (talk) 16:55, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

The article Italian Liberal Party (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Disambiguation page not required (WP:ONEOTHER). Primary topic redirect points to an article with a hatnote to the only other use.

notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
