No Guru, what do you think about Cecropia's nominations for adminship? Get-back-world-respect 13:49, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Thak you for asking my opinion but I haven't been around here long enough to properly understand the role of admin or what kind of users make a good admin. I'm going to have to pass on taking a vote on this issue. No Guru 23:03, 2 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Derek Jeter Page
Thanks for your message. Despite our differences in opinion, I'm sure we could work something out. I do think inclusion of Jeter's batting average from the 2001 World Series and labeling it a "failure" is unfair because he was playing injured, the entire team had a terrible average, he won Game 4 on a walk-off home run, and the Yankees were still only a couple of outs from winning the Series. However, as regards the 2004 ALCS vs. Boston, even though he was not the only Yankee to struggle at the plate in the final four games, he WAS a member of an infamous team that blew a 3-0 series lead. Thus, perhaps we could find accomodation in something along the lines of the following: "Uncharacteristically, Jeter struggled during the 2004 ALCS against Boston, hitting only (insert BA) in a series in which the Yankees would notably become the first team in MLB history to lose a best-of-seven series after taking a 3 games to nothing lead." How does that strike you? Brian Brockmeyer 21:13, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

Just wanted to give you a head's up, this fellow has been reverting articles like mad whenever someone changes his edits. What's more he reports them to the Wikipedia:Vandalism in Progress page too. Can you help? I point you in particular to the Manny Ramirez page. Thanks. Friejose 20:17, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment on my talk page and your help in reaching a compromise. I added my additional thoughts and edited the main Ramirez page to reflect your compromise paragraph. Let's see if it sticks. Friejose 12:53, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
New Brunswick
"Genteel" is difficult to quantify, but Wikipedia (like paper encyclopedias) certainly has articles that describe abstract ideas. When I think of Fredericton, I think "genteel" (or something to that effect - I wasn't the one that put the word in the article originally); when I think of Saint John, I think "blue-collar". They're not provable in any 'a priori' sense, but they do help to paint a picture for the reader who isn't necessarily familiar with the cities. Geoff NoNick 04:43, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
hi there
don`t have a clue how the politics here works, but you started undoing some cleaning i was going to do on the sata article. i was writting a real article on eSATA (and not the infomercial that is on the sata page) and put an eSATA link on the sata page, not mix both contents. anyway, will do it somewhere else
Please stop restoring inflammatory comments to the talk page I have edited. Please stop misrepresenting my edits as "vandalism". thanks. 4.155.60.127 04:03, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Baseball on Wikicities
Hello No Guru, Googie Man here and I'm writing to you because of your work reverting vandalism on baseball. Jimbo and Angela have made a new webstie called Wikicities. This link in particular will take you to the baseball Wikicity. As you'll see it's similar to Wikipedia, but my hope is this will allow baseball fans to do more and different things, like reporting on games, in depth statistics, create mulitple pages for pictures, and whatever else baseball fans care to create. You've done great work on Wikipedia and I was hoping you could help get this baseball Wikicity off the ground. Please let me know what you think either at my talk page, or you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks! Googie Man(Talk), 22:16, 4 January 2006
Thanks
Thanks for catching the vandalism of my userpage. It's odd, I warned that vandal once, on December 1, and he's vandalized my user page twice since then. He seems to be under the impression that the other warnings he's received (one of which was for vandalizing my user page) were from me — I guess vandals just don't get this place. Anyway, thanks for the reversion. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 07:43, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
RE: PAUL WITT
what does "notable" mean exactly?
because I know that Paul Witt is good enough to have a page for himself.
Christadelphian edits
No Guru
Good day, eh? In reference to the edits on the Christadelphians page: there is a user, who is an ex-Christadelphian (211.31.31.224, also known as Ekklesiastic), who is trying to use this page for his own personal agenda (he has done this in other places on the 'net) and keeps coming in to place his "Ex-Christadelphian" link called Truth Alive on the page. We have tried unsuccessfully to get him to stop, so I modified the links to reflect that he is an ex-Christadelphian to warn people that his page is biased. There are others who feel his link should not be there, such as the one you just reverted (60.225.41.237). If there is a way we can get him reported, can you inform me?
Thank you for your help.

PGKBOT
I have been following pgkbot for a while now and checking it's links, about 4 or five times I find out that you also edited the article and finished it before me, has this problem arisen before? What tool do you use to do it so quick?
Just so you know, you've added the {{nn-warn}} template onto Directorgeneral's Userpage, instead of his talk page. You may want to go back and fix it...? -- gtdp (talk)(contribs) 16:35, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Re: Sockpuppet
Well, if that user isn't using any of the other accounts to gain greater influence in discussions, I don't think there's a problem with that. Just my view on that. - Ichiro 18:25, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi, No Guru. In response for your request for speedy deletion, I've added an explanation of the notability of Just van Rossum on the article's talk page. Please re-read the article and its talk page — claims made are notable and easily verified. While I don't envision the article expanding into one as large as, say, his brother's, I believe this article satisifies Wikipedia criteria for an individual with several published credits. Cheers. --Ds13 20:07, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for removal of the speedy deletion tag. (It's still a bit of a stub, though!) :-) --Ds13 20:19, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
3RR
Please stop. You're getting redy to violate the 3RR policy on User talk:68.74.185.144. Please notify an admin before continuing to revert. SWD316 talk to me 04:51, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but looking at your contributions, it didn't look too good when it says, revert vandalism 7-8 times in a row. Oh well. Cheers! SWD316 talk to me 05:03, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- A fine motto indeed! But remember when doing that to an article, it might be content dispute, then it might turn into a motto you might regret. lol. SWD316 talk to me 05:09, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- True, true. I thought I would just throw that out there. Let's not get into a arguement over vandals, it's just silly. Talk to you later! SWD316 talk to me 05:15, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Wikimedia Canada
Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 17:11, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

New Sports-Wiki
Hey No Guru. I noticed that you were fond of editing baseball articles, so I thought you would be interested in this project a couple of my buddies and I started. A couple of friends and I (a bunch of guys from New York City) modified the Mediawiki engine (which runs Wikipedia) to create a new sports wiki. Beyond the fact that every non-protected page is editable, the site allows user to post up news stories and write sports opinions with associated blog-like-commenting. We also wrote some cool extensions so that users can vote on pages they like and those pages with the most votes get filtered to the front page of the site--that way the best news and opinion stories rise to the top. Since more people will see the articles, more people will edit them and polish them up, hopefully increasing an articles reliability and quality.
If your interested in checking out the project, send me a message and I will send you the link. --Awrigh01 15:50, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Boy, you're not kidding. I threw out a bunch of stuff but it needs a rewrite, top to bottom. - DavidWBrooks 21:01, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- The more I look at it, the more I think it's a joke and/or hoax. Bored teenagers goofing on wikipedia, or something like that. Not even super fans could seriously back such twaddle. - DavidWBrooks 21:06, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- FYI, I'm not enough of a baseball fan to do a serious edit to this article. If my changes stick ... yeah, right ... somebody like you should try to make it legitimate. - DavidWBrooks 21:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- 48-hour blocks put on three IDs that are all the same or similar people. We'll see what happens ... I assume you're watching the page, too. - DavidWBrooks 01:11, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

You don't know jack!
What's twaddle? Did you do a wiki story on "twaddle"? It's all legit and from the references mentioned below. If you don't know about Geno Petralli and/or think his life is a joke, then leave it alone! Seriously, an 8 year old kid with cancer is no joke. - Jim Sundberg
Dude! Why'd you delete "Hunter D. Bates" 's page?
That was a birthday present for my friend! Could you at least leave it on there for 24 hours?
