A tag has been placed on Muhammad A. Agha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 18:46, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

leave deletion discussion template

[edit]

Please note that the deletion discussion template on Muhammad A. Agha needs to be left on the page until it runs its course: remember the template says "Feel free to edit the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed." Please review the links in the template, and follow community process. The reason the article is up for deletion is that it may not meet criteria at WP:Notability (person). Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Mhdalagha, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Hi. Thanks for the welcoming message and the useful guidelines. Just on point of clarity: I am not the creator of this article. It is Sami Moubayed. I contributed to its completion. This was a lot of work by many contributors and holds facts about god work done by a lot of global figures and organisations regardless of who I am and how I was mentioned. I hope it does not go to waste and get deleted. Thanks much! Muhammad A. Agha (talk) 07:14, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, my bad, I used this template because it talks about autobiographies, basically the same information here applies to editors modifying articles about themselves (generally not recommended on wikipedia). You will want to look at WP:COI and WP:Autobiography specifically. Usually you only want to make non-contentious changes on an article about yourself, or put what you want to be changed on the talk page and have an uninvolved editor make the change. This may seem a bit of a hassle but it ensures a neutral point of view and no conflicts of interest. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 10:23, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:2012 Rio 20 Conference.pdf

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:2012 Rio 20 Conference.pdf. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:51, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
