October music

[edit]
story · music · places

My topic today is Maryvonne Le Dizès, my story as on 28 August. Some September music was unusual: last compositions and eternal light, with Ligeti mentioned in story and music. - I like reviewing your FAC, but will need to look at two biographies of people who recently died before I can return. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:42, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, take as much time as you need. I will have a look at this article. Llewee (talk) 22:48, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for understanding. Which article? - I pointed at many ;) - One more: BWV 91, my idea for Christmas (premiered 1724), but it's not even GA yet, - would you have time to review, perhaps? - A hint: blank lines in indented discussions confuse the editor program reading to vision-impaired, - look for RexxS on my user page if you want to knw more. - I'll update "places" to some unusual "landscapes" in the next minutes. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:40, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I nominated one of the two, Stoika Milanova. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:20, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I meant the first one about the French lady who died recently and missed the other ones sorry. --Llewee (talk) 14:20, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, - DYK-people found her not interesting (just look at the review on her talk page) ;) - I'm going out now, made progress for Rohan de Saram but more work is needed. Out all day tomorrow, such is life. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:27, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Today I remember an organist who was pictured on the Main page on his birthday ten years ago, and I found two recent organ concerts to match, - see top of my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:02, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Today brought a timely promotion of Helmut Bauer to the Main page on the day when pieces from Mozart's Requiem were performed for him. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:19, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gerda, I was surprised that Bauer had a Celtic Cross on his coat his arms. Did he have links to Ireland?--Llewee (talk) 20:14, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's explained under "Coat of arms". Should that be more detailed? Saying that the Würzburg Cathedral is dedicated to those three missionaries of Franconia (where it all plays) who came from Ireland? Listen to the pomp on their feast day ;) - first of the three youtube links in my story, - quite some organ improvisation when the singing is over. - When do you think you can look at BWV 91 (November getting scheduled ...)? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:23, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I made Leif Segerstam my big story today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:37, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice DYK today! - My story today is about a composer and choir conductor, listen to his Lamento. - My story on 13 October was about a Bach cantata. As this place works, it's on the Main page now because of the date. I sort of like it because today is the birth date of my grandfather who loved and grew dahlias like those pictured. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:53, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Happy whatever you celebrate today, - more who died, more to come, and they made the world richer. Greetings from Madrid where I took the pic of assorted Cucurbita in 2016. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:24, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
