Hi Joalhe, I see you are a new editor to Wikipedia. Good on you adding new information to settlement articles in the Aylesbury Vale area of Buckinghamshire. I have gone through these edits and have done a fair amout of copy editing to remove the detailed info on bus routes such as route numbers, frequency, and running times etc. Articles are not meant to be a directory or repository of all that is to be said about minor fringe material not essential / central to the main topic of the article. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not If you were to review my edits which I do not pretend to be a model of excellence you should nevertheless get an idea of the style. Also take a look at WP:UKVILLAGES which provides a style guide for such articles. Please don't be put off you are doing some good work which just needs to be refined. Worth having a look at the Help pages too. Tmol42 (talk) 17:56, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great job mate!

[edit]

Hello mate. Been greatly impressed by your excellent editing in the IPL page. My college final exams are all set to begin in June so your perfect, efficient editing has reduced my workload to a massive extent. Thought it would be really appropriate on my part to thank you heartily for such flawless work and really I absolutely don't need to worry about the page anymore now that you're here. Keep up the good job mate and wishing you success in everything you do. 🙂 Cricket246 (talk) 17:53, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Cricket 246. I can't guarantee that I'll be right on the ball all the time myself and I'll be particularly busy myself especially in the next couple of weeks but I'll do my best to try and help with the page in the meantime and certainly by May I'll probably be able to commit a bit more time. Good luck with the exams! Joalhe1997 (talk) 18:11, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No worries mate! I keep on checking the page quite a few times each day. In general, every time I open the page I always find that the job is already impeccably done by you. 😀 In case you're busy and any edit is pending, I'll surely be adding that on time. No need to worry at all. 🙂 And thanks for the wishes! Cricket246 (talk) 18:46, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2017 Women's Cricket World Cup

[edit]

Hi Joalhe1997. Regarding the stats - I hope you don't mind that I've removed them for now, but they're a total pain when a tournament is live. Look through the edit history of the recent Champs Trophy to see how many fanboy/IP vandalism edits tried to sneak through on just those tables alone. No issue with the tables being added towards the end of the tournament. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:01, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fair play Lugnuts. I hadn't seen it but it makes sense! Thanks for letting me know about it, I'll bear that in mind for future tournaments! Joalhe1997 (talk) 15:01, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at WACA Ground, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Courtney Brown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi Joalhe1997. For info, at the start of the year, there was an RfC about adding award and achievement boxes to cricket biographies. These are now discouraged, and prose should be used in their place. WP:CRIC#STYLE was updated to reflect this (last bullet point under "Cricketers"). Thanks. Notice

The article Luke Bolton has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Five-wicket hauls

[edit]

Hi. Per this discussion, amongst others, I think we're generally moving in the direction of removing the lists of victims and the economy rate from tables of five-wicket hauls. The consensus was that they're generally not adding anything and making the tables harder to actually read. In addition, the table you added at List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at St George's Park causes issues with dynamic browser widths - essentially you'd be better off with a more dynamic table width. I'll edit that article just now to show you the sorts of things I mean - if you disagree massively with what I do then revert it and we'll discuss it here initially. Blue Square Thing (talk) 09:56, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've also removed some markup that's not required and the flags from the last column which are absolutely unnecessary. The aim of all of this is to load the page faster and more reliably on any browser, particularly mobile ones, and to make the table readable and usable. Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:25, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I also strongly suggest that you consider linking to the match summary (e.g. here) rather than the scorecard in terms of references. The match summary means it's much easier to find the five-wicket hauls quickly rather than having to scan through up to four scorecards - making it appear as if this isn't obvious statistical synthesis. Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:28, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
