Nigerien Crisis lead

[edit]

I noticed you made edits on 2023 Nigerien crisis that got reverted for being ungrammatical. Do you just want to put the words "emergency summit" in there? I can reword it if you want and see if it would fit. Maybe "The ultimatum's deadline expired on 6 August. On 10 August, after an emergency summit, ECOWAS ordered the immediate activation of its standby force." I can't guarantee that wording will stay either. Closhund/talk/ 05:32, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That is fine. HuntersHistory (talk) 16:40, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Islamist insurgency in Iraqi Kurdistan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page KRG. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page American-led intervention in the Syrian civil war, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 03:23, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Word of Advice

[edit]

Look, I see that you're a new user here and you are quite excited about contributing a lot to Wiki. However, based on your edits you either still have a lot to learn about grammar or your device's AI is probably sabotaging you (is there anyway to fix you autocorrect?).

Furthermore, it is a bit eye-raising (sometimes rude) for someone to rapidly follow up one's topic in the talk page in a very short amount of time without giving other editors a chance to respond as you did.

Finally, I see you still have problems citing your sources, as what happened with the most recent edit I had to revert at the misinfo section of the 2023 Nigerien crisis.

I and surely the other user who warned you are not out to drive you off this site. We are only asking you to observe proper behavior and learn more about how to use and edit this site in a manner that fits with the way an encyclopedia looks like. That way you will have your chances of intervention by other users greatly reduced.

Borgenland (talk) 14:16, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please be transparent with the accounts that you are using. I noticed that you edited your response in the Talk:2023 Nigerien crisis using an anonymous IP address. You could get blocked for sockpuppetry if you do it again. Borgenland (talk) 14:58, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi Retired

[edit]

I have decided that I need more skills and becuase don't know much about wiki I have decided I won't be that active anymore i was not trying to be rude but I think I need time to improve my skills I am sorry for any trouble, because of this I probably won't be responding to messages so please don't spam. Ways to improve Volunteers for the Defense of Niger

[edit]

Hello, HuntersHistory,

Thank you for creating Volunteers for the Defense of Niger.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hey, mind adding more refernences to Volunteers for the Defense of Niger, to see if it passes WP:GNG? Cheers!

List of ongoing armed conflicts - Palestine-Israel conflict

[edit]

Hey, I wanted to discuss this topic with you, since you're also editing the page about this conflict. I was thinking that the IDF source is not a reliable one, since the IDF is part of the conflict and therefore their estimates are probably biased. Perhaps we could only follow the neutral (as much as possible) sources, or maybe have a minimum and maximum number like I did, where we only count the numbers from neutral sides (like the ones from the Ministry of Health) in the minimum total number and where we count the numbers that conflicting parties report as well in the maximum number. Whitesin21 (talk) 18:58, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Whitesin21 Okay makes senses to me sorry if I been giving you a hard time or am using unreliable information I have took what you said and will try and find more reliable sources. HuntersHistory (talk) 19:09, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, it's a hot conflict at the moment so things change very fast, for example the Ministry of Health in Palestine said that they also count killed Palestinians in Israel, they brought them back, so their numbers include the ones killed in Israel and it's a neutral and reliable source as well. Whitesin21 (talk) 19:30, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Whitesin21 Okay thank you, I do think we should follow what you said and I do agree with what you said, sorry if it takes me a while to respond I have a lot going on today. HuntersHistory (talk) 20:35, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, you're doing a great job updating the page and I thank you for that. It's a very important wiki page in my opinion, since we're providing information about current wars. Whitesin21 (talk) 10:23, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just got your message, If you want you can check the sources again to make sure they are correct, but I will try and not do it again thanks for the advice. HuntersHistory (talk) 22:53, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

[edit]

Hey man, I just wanted to point out that you’re doing really good with the list of ongoing conflicts. It’s been a really useful piece of information for me and you are keeping it up to date very quickly. It is certainly impressive and commendable. Thank you. 24.75.159.152 (talk) 19:10, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to List of military engagements during the Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–present). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 21:34, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

copying within wikipedia

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from Islamic State–Taliban conflict into List of wars: 2003–present. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. -- mikeblas (talk) 20:14, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing edit summary

[edit]

I noticed that in your most recent edit summary at List of United States presidential candidates by number of votes received, you said "Updated results trump won"; however, the article already said that Trump won, so your update did not change that content, and therefore does not appear to reflect the actual change that was made. Please note, as Help:Edit summary explains, that an edit summary is supposed to describe the change that was made. It is best to avoid edit summaries that suggest that a change was made to the article that was different from your actual edit. Cheers! BD2412 T 03:25, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
