Orphaned non-free media (Image:Passio joan arc dvd.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Passio joan arc dvd.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:45, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Use of the word celebrated instead of held
[edit]Hi, I noticed you have replaced the word held with celebrated on many Olympics pages. Could you explain why? Thanks. Lewispb (talk) 17:16, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- Because this is the word used by the Olympic Charter section 33.1 The Games of the Olympiad are celebrated during the first year of an Olympiad, and the Olympic Winter Games during its third year. Hektor (talk) 02:14, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for that response. I checked that document and it uses the word celebrated some times and held some times. I think held is better and so does everyone else. Lewispb (talk) 12:52, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think this is not fair from your side not to inform me when asking a question that a discussion was ongoing elsewhere. I see anyhow that the main section of the Olympic Charter devoted to the Olympics is entitled CELEBRATION, ORGANISATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES with subsection Celebration of the Olympic Games. Held i not used "some times" in the Olympic Charter relative to the Olympic Games but three times exactly, vs. more than ten times for "celebrated" or "celebration".
Anyway, my point is that the Olympic Games is not just a sporting event, but a cultural and sport festival. I think that using held is precisely not describing what the Games are. They are not a collection of World Championships.
The sentence of the head of state for the opening of the Games is "“I declare open the Games of ... (name of the host city) celebrating the ... (number of the Olympiad) ... Olympiad of the modern era.”
The sentence of the head of IOC for the closing of the Games is "I declare the Games of the [ordinal number] Olympiad/Olympic Winter Games closed and, in accordance with tradition, I call upon the youth of the world to assemble four years from now in [name of host city] to celebrate the Games of the [subsequent ordinal number] Olympiad/Olympic Winter Games." Hektor (talk) 13:25, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please note by looking at the time signatures that that discussion was not taking place when I first asked the question. Thanks for your research. Lewispb (talk) 13:41, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:305 boudu.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:305 boudu.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. WP:CIVIL
[edit]Dear Hektor, please be WP:CIVIL. Comments link "Please refrain from reverting stuff you don't know about" is a violation of WP:CIVIL. There are reasons why I reverted this edit. The lead says "STS-134 is currently the Contingency Shuttle Crew Shuttle flight which should be launched in case of damage to Endeavour during the STS-133 mission." It appeared to be violation of Wikipedia:Recentism. So please don't make sweeping comments like "Please refrain from reverting stuff you don't know about". Have a nice day. Speedy deletion of Villa Cavrois
[edit]A tag has been placed on Villa Cavrois, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ErikTheBikeMan (talk) 20:48, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Soyuz TMA-19, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Soyuz TMA-18. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:30, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

No problem
[edit]Don't worry. Happens all the time that people go directly to DRV. (I feel the same if i have to go one of those offices where I need get something every five years..) I thought I just give you a hint, but Stifle has a serious boilerplate message for these cases. Nevertheless, the process to review at DRV is not the nomination but the deletion. Cheers, --Tikiwont (talk) 16:21, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Likewise, no problem at all. In future, just remember to go to the admin first. Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 17:15, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
As stated on that talk page, if you look at the indentation level (something I would expect someone with 38.5K edits to understand), I wasn't talking to you (actually, I was taking your side), but to everyme. In the future, please refrain from referring to other users as trolls, as you should well know, that's a personal attack just about any way you use that word. In my experience (been a user for a couple years, an admin for a little more than a year I think, etc), it's best to avoid using that word at all, even when it applies (WP:SPADE and pals), as it serves little purpose other than to inflame the situation, and, usually gives a legitimate troll a great opening to start problems. Thanks for your time, SQLQuery me! 21:18, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ok sorry, I am getting grumpy some times. I apologize, sincerely. You see why I will never be an administrator. Frankly, I just wanted to help this conversation. You changed and corrected this article (thanks), but can you explain why you changed Seat 7 to Seat 3? I would think that this book is quite authoritative: [1], but perhaps there is a better source, or the seats have been renumbered since? Either way, it is confusing... - I would suggest you contact the French Academy directly - Mireille Lamarque ( [email protected] ) - with your reference book data. Maybe they are able to clarify this situation. Hektor (talk) 12:34, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Ramuz pleiade.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ramuz pleiade.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Damiens.rf 15:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Contingency missions
[edit]Hektor, where did you get the information that NASA no longer plans CSCS missions? "The practice of having contingency missions has been dropped for ISS mission after STS-124"? This is simply not correct, NASA has had CSCS flight plans for each mission, and will for every one until the end of the shuttle program. The MMT presentations have STS-119 as the LON, with a launch date of January 17th if it were needed. I'm not sure where you got the information that they no longer have CSCS plans, but that's definitely not accurate. See this article that shows STS-119 as the LON vehicle for STS-126, as well as the other references given in the entire section you removed. "In the event of call-up, the STS-119 Base Mass Memory would be flown on OV-103 using STS-119 Base Load and associated products and flight specific I-load patches,” notes the presentation. As such, should a LON situation develop during STS-126 (which is highly unlikely), NASA would use the “fly the next flight” approach. Essentially, Discovery would fly the full-up STS-119 mission profile, complete with the S6 Truss, to rescue the Endeavour crew." Ariel♥Gold 01:21, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- So there is no STS-319 mission, as you incorrectly stated. Hektor (talk) 01:26, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- So your issue is simply with the naming of the section that has been part of every mission. Very well, I shall reword it so it is clear. But by removing the entire section it was as though you were saying NASA does not plan any rescue flights in the event something happens. Ariel♥Gold 01:30, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- They don't plan any specific rescue mission, from STS-124, they run the next nominal mission, with the payload in the bay. The STS-3xx series was named so because there was a different cargo set from the nominal mission (empty bay for STS-3xx). With the exception of course of STS-125 and STS-133 (final mission) Hektor (talk) 01:33, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- That may be, but they still designate it as a "STS-3xx" flight, according to sources, Space and Astronautics News reference, for one: "Contingency Shuttle Crew Support Mission: STS-319 (Rescue STS-126)". I'm not just making information up, this is from news articles/sources. Ariel♥Gold 01:36, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- Go to L2, check the FAWG and you will see that there is no such mission. Anyway why do I care ? I should be in bed. Hektor (talk) 01:41, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- LOL so should I :) But I had to stay up to see the launch, and figured I might as well stay up for the Post Launch News Conference, too. Tomorrow is Saturday, I can sleep in, hee hee. Anyway, I reworded the CSCS section and removed the flight number, hope that works! Ariel♥Gold 01:55, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

STS-127
[edit]Can we keep the STS-127 patch out for now please? I'm not even 100% sure if it's PD yet and thus legally uploaded at wikipedia at all. There is no rush, and once NASA officially announce it, we can still include it. --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 23:55, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, but I thought all NASA documents were PD. Hektor (talk) 10:38, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- It is, but this is made by unpaid third party artists, so it only becomes PD when they sign over all their rights to NASA and no earlier. --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 21:01, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Expedition 19
[edit]Hey Hektor - I'd just like to ask the reason why you removed the 6 part crews from the Expedition 19 article? All sources state that it's the first 6-man expedition, not a 3 man one. Colds7ream (talk) 22:33, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Because NASA has decided to renumber the missions. Hektor (talk) 23:21, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough! :-) Thanks for the link! Colds7ream (talk) 10:31, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]I spent the whole evening yesterday to make things clear and update the Expedition crew tables. Not a word of thank you, you just nitpick me because I used the table of NASAspaceflight L2 instead of the NASA press release and didn't notice that there was one crew more in the the first one. I appreciate. Thanks. Hektor (talk) 08:31, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- You posted the above on my talk page, and I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. It seems that you take things personally, when edits are not made as personal slights against you, but simply done to improve articles. I don't know what article you're talking about, or what edit you're talking about. But rest assured, my edits aren't done to "slam" you or whatever you think, but simply to bring consistency and clarity to articles. In fact, I made a great many edits yesterday, and I have no recollection of even running across your name in any of them, so I'm quite confused as to what you think I did wrong.
