Thanks for creating the Ashraf page. I have been waiting about a year for someone to start that page. Their are some subjects that I am just not willing to start the article myself. I don't mind editing though.
It's a small world, as I see we both also attended Fitchburg State College. I was a full time student their when the 102nd Field Artillery got the call to go to Ashraf and I got uprooted from school. I never made it back to that school, but I did love my time there. --JAYMEDINC 14:27, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Hardnfast. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Johnnie Walker.logo.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Hardnfast. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Hello Hardnfast, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Samadamsovallogo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Hardnfast. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Hey I wanted to personally thank you for getting my user name blocked on Wikipedia. Unfortunately for you, it is really easy to get around these restrictive measures. So I will be around here, catch me if you can! --Leaveituptome6789 15:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
You reported me? How sad :( Makes me wonder, were you born with a sense of humor or did it just gradually erode with time? --Leaveituptome6789 17:51, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you so much for reporting me to the proper authorities. I am indeed a sockpuppet, sort of like Lampchops, just far more annoying. I would like to thank you for being such a vigilant Wikipedia'er without people like you, facts would go unchecked, and people like myself would ruin an open sourced free editing encyclopedia. See you when my ban is up! --LeaveituptomeHardnfast (talk) 13:29, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Building coordinates
[edit]Greetings, Hardnfast. I see that you have added coordinates for two buildings I am very familiar with, One Financial Center and One Beacon Street, and for others in the area. What is your source of these coordinates? They disagree in a major way (as much as two full seconds!) with the FAA and FCC coordinates for radio masts on those two buildings' rooftops - as established with the help of GPS and surveying in at least the case of OFC. It looks as if the numbers you are publishing were obtained from Google Earth (or another program using a similar database), which has a notorious parallax problem with high buildings due to not looking straight down on these buildings. In any case, providing coordinates to two decimals (0.01) of an arcsecond suggests accuracy of about 1 foot, hard to justify unless obtained by actual survey with superior instrumentation. I hope you will not mind if I replace your coordinates for OFC and OBS with the well-established ones from the FAA/FCC database. Hertz1888 04:33, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick & supportive response. I will make the changes. I'm sure you are not the only one who has been misled by Google Earth into accepting coordinates obtained by centering on highrise rooftops. Somewhat greater accuracy can be achieved by estimating the center of a building's footprint (most feasible when opposite corners are visible), but I would never trust the result to better than 0.1 arcsecond, if that much. I enjoyed viewing your impressive user page. We have more than a few interests and sympathies in common. (That doesn't include the cigars). Hertz1888 22:43, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Listen, I wouldn't add something unless it was true. --76.19.169.20 23:39, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the Contributes
[edit]Thank you for your help with my new articles I just created. If you don't remember, check Justin Masterson, Tony Granadillo, and Gil Velazquez. Lets help it become a better article. Feel free to leave me a message at my talk page. PS. Those articles you edited, were created in less than 2 days.--RyRy5 (talk) 02:27, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Me too, I already created 4 articles about Red Sox players. 3 of them are listed above. The other one is Hunter Jones. I also completed the aticles that weren't created on the Red Sox roster. If you look below, there is now an article for all Red Sox players on this roster because I created the last 4, so I then got the BoSox Barnstar.--RyRy5 (talk) 19:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

40 Man Roster
[edit]Hi - thanks for the message. I'm in the same boat as you - I'm not sure if there is a standard on this. I figured that it's just a bit more accurate to list him as a member of the team despite not having pitched since he remained on the roster (despite the Yankees asking him to accept a minor league contract - ugh). I'm not going to shed tears either way. I am trying to work my way through to update the Yankee roster and figured I should make at least one team conform. Either way, it's not a big deal for me. Maybe we're starting a new wikipedia policy... BWH76 (talk) 17:24, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response! I'll correct it on the Pavano page. BWH76 (talk) 15:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome New Scout!
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Scouting Business! The scouts here to monitor all members of the Red Sox WikiProject. We then add any information that we find to the Scouting Report on the main page. The whole scouting business is used so everyone else can see what and how the WikiProject is doing. If you scout often and if you add numerous reports to the main page, a manager will be sure to promote you.
Looking for somewhere to start or do you have nothing to do? Here are a few things you can do:
- Monitor member's contributions using the members list at the Scouting Office, and if you find a report, add it to the Scouting Report at the main page.
- Invite other people to join the WikiProject by adding {{WP BOSOX INVITE}} on their talk page so that you can monitor more people.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or would like to talk about the scouting business in general, feel free to leave a message on the Office's talk page or ask the founder of the scouting business on RyRy5's talk page.

Army National Guard
[edit]Hi, Im currently working to create OrBat graphics for all the Army National Guard divisions (i.e. 34th Infantry Division (United States)#Current Structure or 35th Infantry Division (United States)#Current Structure, but as the National Guard is currently restructuring it is extremly difficult to find the necessary information. As of now I have done my best and created the follwoing 5 graphics:
- 28th Infantry Division
- 29th Infantry Division
- 34th Infantry Division
- 35th Infantry Division
- 42nd Infantry Division
most likely there will be some errors - if you have the time and knowledge could you please have a look and check for errors and/or omissions? Thank you very much. Also I will work on the 36th, 38th and 40th Divisions over the week and do hope that you could have a look at the Army National Guard#Divisions list and check if they listed brigades are correct. Also if you have some information regarding the units of the brigades of the aforementioned 3 divisions, this would massively help me in my endeavor. thanks, --noclador (talk) 22:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for your help - any info you can gather and give me does help. I keep an eye on the Army National Guard Divisions articles, so if you have some info just change the Divisions units listing here and I will quickly update the graphic. --noclador (talk) 21:45, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Operation COOKIE MONSTER
[edit]BBC
[edit]Hi, please explain to me why you consider BBC material to be POV — Jan Hofmann (talk) 18:22, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't deny that I have a POV on the issue, neither should you as a former U.S. soldier. However the U.S. government calls the invasion of Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom, we do not. Bush may the the world's most powerful man, but white isn't black only because he says it is. And don't get me started on the whole "illegal combatant" lingo, you know it's a disputed term as well as I. "prison camp" is the standard and neutral term for what Camp Bucca does. — Jan Hofmann (talk) 09:10, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
