Major productions should First be described in detail in the Productions section. If there was a West End production in 2011, please add a paragraph about it there, citing WP:Reliable sources for each fact stated, including the dates of opening and closing, number of performances, the name of the theatre, director, choreographer, notable designers, notable stars, any Olivier awards, what the reviewers said about the production, etc. After this, it can be added to the casting table and IB. Note that the Vault Theatre is NOT a West End theatre, and that production does NOT belong in the cast table. Thanks.-- Ssilvers (talk) 05:26, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Thomas and the Magic Railroad, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Magitroopa (talk) 01:21, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:JulianRDecker.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Notice

The article Stories of Strength and Hope: Preventing Youth Suicide has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable documentary. Winner of minor award, all citations are either about the award or the director. Nothing at all about the film, and zero reviews found in a WP:BEFORE. Redirect was removed by creator.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Hi HM2021! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Monty Python and the Holy Grail that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. It appears nearly all your edits are marked "Minor". There is an option, "Mark all edits as minor", which you may have turned on accidentally. If that's the case, I recommend you turn it off. Information icon Hi HM2021! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. Thank you. Mike Manning (actor)

[edit]

Hi. Your edit to Mike Manning (actor) was reverted, because the source you cited for the premiere of Manning's film, Slapface, makes no mention of that film or Manning. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 16:32, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Your edit to Mike Manning (actor) was reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. As you may know by now, Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you wish to restore that material, please do so only if you can accompany it with the required citations. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 20:00, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Tokyo Vice (TV series), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. About Spider-Man No Way Home

[edit]

What the Movie studios are saying is because of Spider-Man No Way Home, they don't believe movies they release in Monoscopic 2D will make any money. Nightmare Alley The King's Man Matrix Resurrections all release in Flat 2D Only, while Spider-Man N Way Home has made almost $900 million from 3D Screenings. This trend has been happening all year in 2021 starting Godzilla VS. Kong which made $500 million ($450 million from 3D Screenings), and continued with Black Widow and Jungle Cruise and Free Guy and Shang-Chi and Venom 2 and No Time To Die and Dune and Eternals, which all made 80% to 90% of their Global Box Office from 3D Screenings per movie. Even Domestic Box Office never saw less then 70% of screenings for a 3D movie coming from 3D Screenings. StarHakimi (talk) 06:03, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Adding correct information when creating infoboxes

[edit]

Hello HM2021, I wanted to reach out to you regarding your recent edits to lists of accolades received by films. I've found two pages that you recently created and are largely responsible for – List of accolades received by West Side Story (2021 film) and List of accolades received by Belfast (film) – that both featured infoboxes that were largely incorrect. For instance, in the Belfast awards list, I had to update the infobox to read 32 wins/124 nominations (which is what the table shows) from 37 wins/217 nominations (which was wildly incorrect). Moreover, the infobox incorrectly included several organizations that were not included in the table, while simultaneously failing to mention organizations that were in the table.

Please note that while editors assume good faith in your work, edits like these can be considered disruptive. We appreciate your enthusiasm for editing, but if other people have to clean up your edits, that can quickly become frustrating. If you are looking for any advice, feel free to ask me here or at my talk page – we want to help you become a better editor and improve the project! A tag has been placed on File:BenProdufootOscars2022.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Rhain 01:06, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to The Fabelmans, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Thank you. GoneIn60 (talk) 16:24, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2023

[edit]

Your update to Prestige picture constitutes original research and so was reverted. Original research includes use of published sources in a way to advance a position that none of the sources explicitly say. Nowhere in the NPR article does it say that the nominated films’ losses are a direct result of low box office, release date, or their perception as Oscar bait, nor does it say that prestige fare was brought to an end simply because of EEAAO’s win. Inappropriate use of "minor edit"

[edit]

This is not a minor edit. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Inappropriately marking an edit as minor is deceptive and rude to other editors. Read Help:Minor edit for more information. Sundayclose (talk) 15:32, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Little Mermaid (2023 film) into Draft:The Little Mermaid (2023 film soundtrack). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:11, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cut-and-paste move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Pete Maverick a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 18:15, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:EyesofTammyFayeSoundtrack.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021 film)#Music. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:47, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Fabelmans Theme by John Williams.mp3

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Fabelmans Theme by John Williams.mp3. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 18:06, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:LIIFE logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:LIIFE logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add permission pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:58, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect citation on several articles about films which recently entered the public domain

[edit]

I saw that the citation on Lights of New York (1928 film) for the film's public domain status referred to a page from 2019 talking about works from 1924, which did not mention the film the Wikipedia article is for. I replaced the citation with one that mentions the film, but I saw that you put the same citation on several articles about works that entered the public domain this year. A tag has been placed on Category:Semi-autobiographical films indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 21:41, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-autobiographical films

[edit]

On the page you created, you defined the category as "film titles, for films that purport to tell the life story of an individual, but alters the events and changes the names of people and places to make the story more fictional." However, many of the films that would fit this description appear to have been placed by you in the category Autobiographical stories. For example, the introduction section of Almost Famous literally says "The film is semi-autobiographical." It would be autobiographical if the main character had the same name as the director, which he does not. There are multiple films in the Autobiographical category you erroneously listed as such.

Also, can you please properly format your references? You consistently use WP:BAREREFs, such as on The Holdovers and elsewhere, despite multiple requests from other editors to use the complete formatting. See WP:CITEWEB on how to do so. Spectrallights (talk) 07:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFI Top 10 navbox

[edit]

Thank you for putting that together (by the way, you may want to place it on the American Film Institute page), a very informative and easily comprehended navbox. Now, some editors may want to get rid of it, like they did the Sound and Sight poll navbox in a "vote" by three editors (in a deletion which should really be formally review-challenged, even months after the fact). Hopefully it won't be challenged or removed, but at least be aware of that Sound and Sight poll that seems closely related in relevancy. Thanks again, nice work! Wicked soundtrack

[edit]

There seems to be a alot on the web about the release of the soundtrack(s) for Wicked coming out as two separate volumes (part one and part two). The information is also giving the list of the track sequences for each of the albums. This means that the list of the new songs not featured in the original stage soundtrack can be identified and listed in a new Soundtrack section for the production and development section of the article. Any thoughts? HenryRoan (talk) 02:52, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say yes. All the music of both parts was produced all at the same time but the soundtracks of both parts will be released separately. HM2021 (talk) 03:16, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is the original playlist for the stage production: [4]. Here is the playlist for Volume 2 (though something better than the IMDB version might be needed) here: [5]. Here is the playlist from Volume 1 for the film version here: [6]. It looks like "Defying Gravity" does make it into Part One. I am still trying to learn about doing tables on Wikipedia and do not know how to implement it in that way in a new Soundtrack section; maybe you can help? I have received Draft:Max Hechtman. I am ready to accept it, but should alert you to my concern. Two previous biographies of Hechtman have been deleted. Your draft is an improvement on the deleted versions, but I think that it will probably be nominated for deletion again. I think that if it is nominated, it should be kept, but AFD can be unpredictable. I can accept the draft at this time, or I can decline it if you are planning to make more improvements to it. Please let me know how we should proceed. Robert McClenon (talk) 08:22, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I saw and was not expecting someone else to submit it to you. I am split on whether it should be accepted or not. On one hand, accepting it would be great as Hechtman, based on the sources, had his films play in festivals across the country and through that has achieved notability, and he was even notable in his own hometown when he was a teenager (his Bar Mitzvah project and being crowned Homecoming King in high school). On the other hand, I fear AFD could delete it again too, based on what they think defines "notability" and they could falsely think Hechtman has never achieved it. I do plan on making more improvements to the article whether this article submission is accepted or declined as more sources and info on Hechtman and anything related to him become found and if Hechtman himself appears in the news again in the days and months to come. His story is very interesting and definitely unique when it comes to the life of an emerging filmmaker (comes from Long Island, the only well-known alumni of FIT's Film and Media Program which started in 2014) and it does deserve to be told as long as Wikipedia allows it. If accepted, hopefully everything will be fine. If it gets nominated for deletion again by AFD, I'll request that it be dratified so it can still be worked on and hopefully it can be marked as a promising draft. HM2021 (talk) 13:37, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you plan to make improvements to the biography, then I will decline it so that you can improve it. I was aware that you did not submit it, and that it had been submitted by a user who has been blocked for disruptive editing, so I wanted to give you the choice. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:17, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just made the necessary small improvements by adding to his sources of inspiration and any additional material that I didn't get the chance to add yet before Jumpy submitted the article. I just resubmitted the article and it is ready for approval. HM2021 (talk) 14:32, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you ready for it to be nominated for deletion if I accept it? If so, I will accept it, but I am not saying that it will not be nominated for deletion. It almost certainly will be nominated for deletion. Are you ready to defend it (civilly)? Robert McClenon (talk) 06:54, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am ready. HM2021 (talk) 13:38, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Sam Smith-Summer Walker You Will Be Found.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Cover art (of a later/subsequent recording) doesn't contextually signify the whole song that originated in a prior production. Not yet proven that omission would detriment the understanding of the song.

Information icon Hi HM2021! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Wicked (2024 film) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Just another reminder: please ensure you don't mark edits like this, this, this, or this as minor. Also, that last revision does need to be referenced, please add one or revert it if you don't have one. Happily888 (talk) 13:51, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination process

[edit]

Hello, I'm SSSB.

I noticed that you nominated an article for Wikipedia:Good article status, but that you also created the review page. The way the Wikipedia:Good article nominations process works is that the reviewer of the article will create the review page when they are ready to start the review. This is not a step for the nominator. The reason for this is that it is the review pages that are tracked when monitoring if a review has started. By creating the review page, you have tricked the automated process into thinking that a review has started (theerby taking it out of the queue). I have therefore nominated the review page for sppedy deletion, which will then reinsert your article in the correct place within the queue. There is a major backlog at WP:GAN, but it will be reviewed eventually.

If you have any questions, please let me know. SSSB (talk) 20:18, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
