Welcome!
Hello, Gohens84, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Johnny Marple, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

Gohens, welcome to wikipedia. I responded to your inquiry at the Maryland wikiproject talk page, and then noticed you had gone ahead and created the article, which, of course, is great. I had a few suggestions, and I'm happy to field any questions as you continue to work on the article. These are just suggestions, I know that as a new editor it's easy to be daunted by some of the style guidelines here, so understand I'm not at all trying to be critical.
- First, you might want to write up a good five or six paragraph summary of the history of the county for the main Garrett County, Maryland article. Good examples of local history sections include those at Washington, DC and Ann Arbor, Michigan. You'll also want to make sure the section is properly cited, and can find some good guidance on how to do that at the Manual of Style page on citing source and the citation templates list, which lists templates that can be used with the <ref>''reference''</ref> parameter.
- The History article currently lacks a lead, and probably needs one. See Wikipedia:Lead section.
- There are too many sections in the article, which is why the table of contents is so long. You'll want to collapse some of those sections and eliminate others. For example, all of the geology information can be incorporated into the geology section of the main county article. The visits by famous people at the end could easily be collapsed into a single paragraph.'
- One of the most confusing parts of wikipedia is Image use policy. The flag of Garrett County is fair use, which means we can use it for identification in the main article, but can't use it anywhere else on wikipedia. So I've gone ahead and switched it out for another image.
Good luck and happy editing! Geraldk (talk) 19:51, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

John Thomas Scharf
[edit]Hi, What a quick start ! I found the JTS article and couldn't resist helping. I'm guessing that a lot of the text came from an old publication. I hope I have now made each sentence sound more like it is written today. My plan is to get it on the front page near xmas. OK? Could you tell me where the bulk of the text came from as I don't want to plagiarise even if the text is out of copyright. Best regards Victuallers (talk) 21:26, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Johnny Marple
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Johnny Marple. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Johnny Marple. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Maryland

I have started a discussion on the projects talk page soliciting the opinions of the members of the project if this project would be interested in being supported by WikiProject United States. Please feel free to comment on your opinions about this suggestion. --Kumioko (talk) 03:10, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hey. To be blunt, a copyright investigation was opened up against you, and we found that you copy-pasted virtually everything you've written on this site, and most of it has now been deleted. If you start editing again, double-check how you write articles, since if more is found again I won't hesitate to block you and prevent further damage. Wizardman 18:21, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
