Blockchain analysis

[edit]

Regarding the recent removal you made about Blockchain Intelligence Group, they are an industry leader, and I can confidently say they are one of the top companies in blockchain analytics solutions. They have well-known tools like QLUE and offer crypto investigation training such as the CCI certification. In fact, they were recognized by Homeland Security in 2022.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could add this information back. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.

Do you have a source that corroborates this claim? Gaismagorm (talk) 16:59, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, again.
here is the BIG's own PR: https://blockchaingroup.io/announcements/crypto-investigative-support-company-recognized-in-u-s-department-of-homeland-security/

hmm, while the first two are likely not enough, the third definitely is compelling. It does however seem like it still isn't notable enough, especially considering the group lacks a wikipedia article. Gaismagorm (talk) 17:12, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gaismagorm,
Blockchain Intelligence Group is only the public trader blockchain analysis solution company in the world. I think base on that, it worth to mentioned on this page.
here is article about this company on coingeek: https://coingeek.com/bigg-digital-assets-inc-subsidiary-blockchain-intelligence-group-launches-bitcoin-sv-bsv-on-qlue-and-bitrank-verified-forensics-platforms/
here is the article that mentioned BIGG (parent company): https://investingnews.com/daily/tech-investing/blockchain-investing/cse-blockchain-stocks/
Thank you. 66.23.116.246 (talk) 17:27, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
like I said, I don't think it should be added until the company is notable enough for a wikipedia article. Gaismagorm (talk) 17:38, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. However I found out this wiki page which includes Blockchain Intelligence multi-times and : https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envion 66.23.116.246 (talk) 17:58, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
hmm, actually reading the old article the change was, most of the companies mentioned don't have articles. This is honestly way over my head right now. Also sorry for the late reply, was in a car so I didn't have wifi. Gaismagorm (talk) 12:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All good. Thank you to taking care of this. I'm contact them if they can create an wiki page for it. They are a really great company. I'm a customer since 4 years. have a wonderful day. 66.23.116.246 (talk) 17:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. 47.227.95.73 (talk) 11:11, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up notice

[edit]

Thank you for your advisory note on my article. May I suggest that you clean up your clean up notice? 'encyclopediacly' is not a word. I have amended the spelling of 'writter' to 'written', but I am not sure if this correction appears on all uses of your notice. You may care to check this out. The article did have a reference section, although there was no 'References' heading. You may want to change how you use that function. Shipsview (talk) 11:15, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

uh yeah that was my fault. But I stand by what I said. Gaismagorm (talk) 11:28, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
also the lack of the references heading was indeed what I was talking about, but i will try to fix my clean up template. Gaismagorm (talk) 11:28, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright it's fixed, and i removed the reference thing cause that was fixed. Gaismagorm (talk) 11:30, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Draft:Nuns Island Theatre isn't advertising, so I removed the G11 tag that you added. The article seems to be neutral, but I moved it to draft because it didn't have enough references. G11 is only for unambiguous advertising. If an article sems to be advertising but you think other users would disagree, you can tag the article as {{advert}} so that other editors will see the tag and perhaps improve the article. Really ugly vandalism

[edit]

Hey there! Thanks for your work in removing vandalism from Wikipedia. One of the edits you reverted recently was a really ugly racial slur that someone dropped into Western suburbs (Melbourne). If you see something like that, please find an admin and ask for the edit to be "revision deleted", usually abbreviated "revdel". This removes the edit from the history of the page. We can revdel the edit itself, the edit summary, and/or the editor's username, depending on the circumstances. Thanks again! Joyous! Noise! 00:38, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should I email them? or is there a way to do that otherwise doesn't require email? Gaismagorm (talk) 00:40, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Emailing is best practice, because often we're trying to get the edit removed without a lot of fuss, to avoid "feeding the troll" by giving them attention for their edits, but if you don't use email with Wikipedia, you can drop a subtle message at an admin's talk page. There's a list of admins who are especially willing to handle revdel requests, although any admin could either handle it themself, or flag the attention of someone who will. Joyous! Noise! 02:08, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright, I'll be sure to do that. have a great day! Gaismagorm (talk) 10:53, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question, sir

[edit]

How do you make hyperlinks so that they don't show the whole title as it's listened in the hyperlink but rather the words you want to show it. For instance for my Bruce A Young article, I wanted to downcut the display of CTV Television Network to CTV (to make it proper-looking, without removing the link) for the 1996 - 1999 UPN/CTV show "The Sentinel". I want to do the same for like "Richard Bey." RobertFL1991 (talk) 23:59, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RobertFL1991
so it depends.
for links that link to articles on wikipedia you do [ [ wikipedia article name|display text ] ]
for links that lead to websites outside of wikipedia you do { { display text|website url } }
be sure to remove the spaces between the brackets, I just did it cause it was inserting links when I tried to send the message.
for more info check out Help:Link
do note that some websites such as imdb have their own syntax for linking due to their extensive usage.
hope this helps! Gaismagorm (talk) 00:35, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you :) RobertFL1991 (talk) 00:56, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

when editing articles, I have a hard time positioning the picture I want to put in the middle on the main info box at the beginning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_A._Young Notice how the picture isn't positioned right? I had trouble putting the The Richard Bey Show logo as well in the past. RobertFL1991 (talk) 03:03, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

yes I can see that, but im not quite certain how to fix the issue. I'd reccomend going to the wikipedia:teahouse. there you can ask these kinds of questions and get help from many people. hope this helps! Gaismagorm (talk) 10:56, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not understanding why my page doesn't get a simple approval

I would like people to see it and if they want to add more sources to strengthen the page, they could, but it's like I can't get a start.

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

Hi Gaismagorm,

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

regarding Special:Diff/1226282915,

  • Did you check the source before restoring the material?
  • Are you aware of WP:BLPPRIMARY?

Best regards,

Hello, how do you post pictures from Commons onto an article?

[edit]

I want to add a picture of 1 MetroTech Center into the article about Brooklyn and being this site takes copyright very seriously, I just want to add a picture that can be of some use. Am I allowed to edit the picture, or it must be used. Thank you to whoever adjusted the picture of Bruce A. Young, the actor for me. RobertFL1991 (talk) 04:01, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello RobertFL1991!
while I myself haven't uploaded any images, I do believe the article Wikipedia:Uploading images should hopefully provide the information necessary. Sorry I don't much further, but I hope that helps! Gaismagorm (talk) 12:29, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Just download from Commons and let them know. RobertFL1991 (talk) 18:45, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
if thats what it says, then yeah! Gaismagorm (talk) 19:21, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not let them know, but all you have to do is just indicate that it was from Commons, and then give the indicated Commons # like whatever specs it was. RobertFL1991 (talk) 22:05, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are confused, I'd reccomend wikipedia:Teahouse, honestly I know very little about image policy on wikipedia. Gaismagorm (talk) 22:29, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No I'm good. I loaded the picture already anyways. I did it the right way. RobertFL1991 (talk) 00:16, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright, good! Gaismagorm (talk) 12:18, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Someone has been repeatedly making alts and trying to get me into trouble. What can I do? ItsCheck (talk) 17:43, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Im not particularly sure, I'd reccomend asking at the wikipedia:Teahouse or Wikipedia:Helpdesk. My first idea however for where you should report them is possibly Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations. I'm not fully certain however, and I'd reccomend asking on the teahouse or help desk before posting a sockpuppet investigation, since I could be wrong. Possible violation of WP:DR and spirit of WP:AGF at Talk:Jinn

[edit]

Hi there. I'm part of part of couple of months long going dispute and preparation for RfC at Jinn, (starting around here). At the suggestion of Bookku (here), I was wondering if you could take a look at this post by VenusFeuerFalle and see if you find it in breach of WP:DR spirit of WP:AGF as Bookku (our informal dispute facilitator) and myself do. Example:

I am willing to give the involved users one last chance, to make one clear suggestion, I want to respond one last time. Then we can go step by step over to the other ones. If it fails, I will not reply to that anymore, and then either the edits meet the Wiki-Criteria or they don't. If they do not meet them, they will be reverted, no matter of you understand the reason or not. Because, I just feel my time being wasted. If the users again derail the discussions, I will report Eagle and let an admin check on all involved users for canvassing, harrassment, and potential sockpuppetry.

Many thanks if you can. --Louis P. Boog (talk) 17:45, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Louis P. Boog I am terribly sorry, but I am not an administrator. Gaismagorm (talk) 17:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About the Pay4Me App

[edit]

Hello Gaismagorm,

Can you check if the page Pay4Me App to remove the conflict of interest template. A significant changes have happened and a contributor re-edited the article.

Thank you. InspirErnest (talk) 09:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

while I can't really promise to remove it, I'll take a look to see if I should Gaismagorm (talk) 10:51, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
actually, it looks like there isn't a conflict of interest template, merely a paid editing template. It does appear that promotional language does still appear within the article, so I'm inclined to not remove it. Thanks for asking first though! Gaismagorm (talk) 10:54, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gaismagorm

[edit]

i tried to find another way to contact you but chouldent. im just here to say i understand fixing up my edit to the Sleepy hollow, new york, article with the games section wheare i added "* Sleepy Hollow is a Halloween location in the roblox game Guts and Blackpowder (2023)." im here to say im fine with it but that it is a location in the game (or atleast the cemetary is) and it's currently on the front page of the game. thank you for understanding. contact me when possible :D. Benji is Cool (talk) 13:22, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Benji is Cool hello, I understand where you are coming from. It is however important to note that Wikipedia has a notability requirement (see Wikipedia:Notability) and Roblox games generally don't meet this requirement (with a few exceptions to extremely popular ones). While Guts and Blackpowder seems to be relatively popular, it is still not quite popular enough to be notable enough to be featured on the list. Gaismagorm (talk) 13:35, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thanks gais. but can you atleast put it as "in roblox"? like generally? thanks in advance. Benji is Cool (talk) 13:49, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, due to Roblox being filled with user-generated content, stating that the location appears in Roblox is far too vague. Gaismagorm (talk) 14:04, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Have you made any big edits, like 2000 bytes edit? Also you may notice I don't have a great track record like you do if you look at my talk page ':D. Sangsangaplaz (talk) 14:56, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've made pretty big edits (though the big ones are usually just reverts of spam or blankings). Also it looks like you've turned over a new leaf it seems, good job! Gaismagorm (talk) 14:59, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How is your name coloured anyway? Like it's a cyanish blue. Sangsangaplaz (talk) 15:02, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a signature. I've only recently got it. Check out Wikipedia:Signature tutorial if you want to learn how to do so. Also check out Wikipedia:Signatures for the guidelines for signatures. Gaismagorm (talk) 15:04, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
