I think you missed the part where User:Tomelle1 rewrote (perhaps unintentionally) the Captain Flag (a comics hero) article, so it became an article for the real person Tom Townsend. I've reverted the page to it's prior superhero state.--Atlan (talk) 23:49, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising

[edit]

It is strongly felt that the section on the page Valley Gardens Middle School about 7CH appearing in the Whitley Bay News Guardian is a advertisment and is

not the entire story. For the above reason I have removed that section DJminisite 18:46, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Graph

[edit]

Hi. You created a graph and a table on the page Valley_Gardens_Middle_School. While these look good they mean nothing to a person who has good graph/table reading skills. Due to this problem I have had to remove them for the time being. I am really sorry but with improvement they could go back on. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. Thanks again. About your Revert of my edits on List of Virtual Console games (Australia)

[edit]

That's all information that I corrected, as what was on the page at that time was wrong. My first edit fixed up a few links tidied up the page and added Ghouls 'n Ghosts (as per info from the OFLC site) and gave a rating to Splatterhouse (Unknown to M), which it seemed someone had forgotten. My second edit changed further ratings (Landstalker and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 from PG to G, as they are in fact rated G) and finally, my third edit changed Strider from a NES game to a Sega MegaDrive game, as I noticed that the NES version was only released in North America. All my changes were to fix up mistakes on the recent update of games, and you have been mistaken in thinking they were vandalism. Rawr ^_^ 121.208.170.93 21:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One Rincon Hill

[edit]

All I did was remove a redlink to a nonexistent image and this redlink should not be in the article. That is not vandalism and please be careful about reverting good-faith edits. Thank you. Hydrogen Iodide 01:12, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting/Vandalism

[edit]

After reading some of the above edits I have noticed that you maybe doing what to some could be thought of as vandalism. This is beginning to annoy other editors, in one case upset them. Please discontinue this bad habit, you are destroying wikipedia. DJminisite 17:28, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Valley Gardens Middle School

[edit]

I removed this graph as it ruins the article becasue the numbers up the side mean nothing to the world, except maybe you? This also applies to the table. Please correct them and reaplly them when they are updated. If you just revert the edit again I may consider it vandalism and consider reporting you. Thanks again. If it's under 'fair-use' the claim of 'permission' is a side issue, and it needs a full rationale explaining why the use of the image constitutes fair-use, (see WP:NFCC and WP:FURG.

However if the source site is willing to release under a 'free' licence, you would need to formally file that permission via the OTRS system. Sfan00 IMG 11:08, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Black DS Lite 1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Black DS Lite 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:34, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Buran On Antonov225.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Buran On Antonov225.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Russavia 05:19, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AWB "Cleanup Edits"

[edit]

Hi, You shouldnt just be using AWB to make those basic cleanup edits - especially if they are just whitespaces moves.

Repeated abuse of this rule can lead to the priveledge of AWB use being removed.

Make the edits more meaningful - Turn on regextypofix, and let it skip if no changes

Reedy Boy 09:08, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good, Good. If your doing things such as adding default sort - Thats fine, just change your edit summary to match! If the "cleanup" makes a load of different changes on a page, i personally do do them, but if its only changing 1 or 2 minor things, i dont Reedy Boy 10:14, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Brierdene green.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Brierdene green.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VegitaU 23:18, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zeitgeist Movie Page

[edit]

Hi, I am not a fan of the movie, so I am certainly not advertising it. But it is notable and being discussed. The 9-11 truth crowd seems to have generated this movie, and it is likely to have notability worthy of wikipedia and a page directing interested persons to the many other wikipedia pages the topic touches upon. Thanks! Sandwich Eater 19:38, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on The battle of hogwarts. I do not think that The battle of hogwarts fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because books are not speedy delete candidates. I request that you consider not re-tagging The battle of hogwarts for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. You are, of course, free to tag the article with {{prod}} or nominate it at WP:AFD. Note: a similarly named article was deleted before (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Battle of Hogwarts), so you really may want to nominate this at Afd. You did a AWB typo check here a while back. I'm not sure what happened, but you changed "virginia" to "Virginia". Normally, I would totally agree with you, but in this case it was part of a reference name which I always write in non-caps on purpose to avoid mistyping the reference name in later mentions. I'm not sure if there's a way to keep ref tags out of the spelling check, but I thought I'd tell you just in case. Correcting spelling could also cause problems in in old quotes that use Old English or some foreign language with similarities to English. - Mgm|(talk) 11:07, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Easter

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Easter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arbonne International

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Arbonne International, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Arbonne International. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Taskbar clock.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Taskbar clock.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:09, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Owa logo.gif

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Owa logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:16, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People ganging up to disrupt an article

[edit]

Hi,

I found you at Wikipedia:Editor assistance. If you can spare a few minutes of your time helping out at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil, I would be thankful.

I am developing an article on words borrowed by Tamil from Indo-Aryan languages. I am citing a standard authoritative lexicon from which I find the words that are borrowed before including them at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil. There are a few people who seem to be intent in damaging the article by adding "cite" tags, "disputed" and "dubious" tags for the article and threatening to delete it within 24 hours.

Could you please help?

Request to participate in University of Washington survey on tool to quickly understand Wikipedians' reputations

[edit]

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington. In April, we met with some local Wikipedians to learn what they would like to know about other editors’ history and activities (within Wikipedia) when interacting with them on talk pages. The goal of those sessions was to gather feedback to help design an embedded application that could quickly communicate useful information about other Wikipedians. We have now created a few images that we feel represent some of what our participants thought was important. We would appreciate it if you took a few minutes of your time to complete an online survey that investigates whether or not these images would be useful to you. Your quick contribution would be very valuable to our research group and ultimately to Wikipedia. (When finished, the code for this application will be given over to the Wikipedia community to use and/or adjust as they see fit.)

Willing to spend a few minutes taking our survey? Click this link.

Please feel free to share the link with other Wikipedians. The more feedback, the better! The survey is completely anonymous and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. All data is used for university research purposes only.

Thank you for your time! If you have any questions about our research or research group, please visit our user page. Commprac01 (talk) 00:36, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

Your upload of File:Ambirch1 Title.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Annitsford R.C. Church.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Annitsford R.C. Church.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:01, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Shuttle Landing Simulator.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
