Notice

The article Judo at the 2009 Maccabiah Games has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable sport event; full of red links

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, CLalgo. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "New football tournament match format".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 19:21, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Judo at the 2015 Pan American Games. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please stop. Your edits are disruptive and inserts incorrect information into the infobox (venue, arena name etc.), while also removing information such as the # of athletes/nations competing and # of events. This is a Pan American Games event, and as such the Template:Infobox Pan American Games event infobox is to be used. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 23:22, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

@Sportsfan 1234: I will not stant for this WP:BULLY tactic. Your reversions to the pan am games were unwelcomed and reverted back, and your solution was to start an edit war instead of a discussion. Your reversions will be reverted to bring the articles to their states before the start of the edit war. You are more than welcome to star a discussion at the relevant talk page to offer format changes. This is the first warning before a formal complaint of your edit war will be filed. CLalgo (talk) 23:41, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
Your edits were reverted first, as per WP:BRD you must discuss instead of adding your preferred content onto the article. Your edits in particular, to the 2015 Pan American Games is adding incorrect information, that is disruptive. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 23:43, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
This claim is just false.
  1. You haven't tried starting a discussion in the 3 months that passed since my edits, as WP:BRD suggest, nor have you revert summaries been detailed.
  2. No incorrect, or unreferenced information was provided. Please provide a contradictory evidence otherwise. CLalgo (talk) 00:03, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

1) There is no place on BRD that says a 3 month minimum, can you please point this out. BRD suggests if you make a bold edit, which you did as you changed the status quo of an article that was 7 years old, and now have been reverted, you must discuss. I guess that is here. 2) The venue name and location are incorrect, plus you have removed information that was there before. This is a Pan American Games event, and as such the Template:Infobox Pan American Games event infobox is to be used as suggested by MOS of WP:OLYMPICS. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 00:08, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Please provide sources to your claims and link to the specific article you speak about. This is getting very, let us say uncomfortable, to follow up on and verify your claims. CLalgo (talk) 00:13, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
In relation to what part of my message? Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 00:17, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
All of it. Information being wrong and relevant MOS. CLalgo (talk) 05:31, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
1) Paramount Fine Foods Centre, formerly the Hershey Centre, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex located in Mississauga, Ontario (not Toronto), Canada. Its current name was adopted on July 1, 2018. The name wasn't adopted till AFTER the games. Besides that, the venue was titled the Mississauga Sports Centre during the games [2]. You have also removed the number of events and number of athletes and countries from the infobox, which are important pieces of information. As for the MOS, An infobox template, derived from Infobox Olympic event}} or Infobox Paralympic event, is transcluded at the beginning of the corresponding article's lead section, The Pan American Games event is derived from Infobox Olympic event. The MOS can be viewed here [3]. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 21:33, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited World Judo Championships, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages 2012 World Team Judo Championships and 2010 World Team Judo Championships. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Colors in judo results

Hi there, is there perhaps a place where I can read more about the medal colours that you're adding to judo results? On a page such as this one, the contrast between a visited red link and the bronze background medal colour is fairly low so I was wondering if this may result in accessiblity issues (see also MOS:CONTRAST). It may be ok to add these colours but it'd be good to know that before adding them to many more articles. Simeon (talk) 18:21, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

@Simeon: Thank you for your message. I've just recently fixed a bug in Module: RoundN, that is now able to correctly identify and color the medal winners automatically. As a colorblind person myself, I was also troubled about the color contrast and have wrote a code, not yet submitted, that will allow usage of lighter background colors. Would you like to start a discussion about the matter in the module's talk page? An option of mandatory lighter colors could be argued, or an option to just make them available. What do you think? CLalgo (talk) 19:27, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, I have added a new section there to see what others think. Lighter colors could be an idea or perhaps to only color the background of the cell with the score and to leave the background of the cell with the athlete's name as is (as long as the score can still be read). Given that it's a widely used template, it may be an idea to only allow it to generate colors that have good contrast with the foreground (rather than making it configurable). Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Keagan Young, you may be blocked from editing. Please stop adding unnecessary spacing to an article, when it artificially increases the article size and makes it harder to load on mobile. Please stop adding sports links as external links, when they are linked in the infobox of the person. Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking, there shouldn't be a link more than once, especially if its an external link. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 16:20, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Keagan Young shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 17:58, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

Friend, you can not delete a warning you've been given and warn your warner, when you are the one reverting edits and deleting information from articles. Please, be civil. CLalgo (talk) 18:08, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
Stop being patronizing. You have no idea how this works because if you did, you would understand as part of the WP:BRD process is discussing instead of blindly reverting to your preferred version. Furthermore, the 3RR applies to all editors and does not exclude you. You also fail to address the points raised here, and act like you are the victim. Please address the points. reverts regarding Jerusalem

Hello CLalgo. Wikipedia already, by consensus, does not say Jerusalem is in Israel. It does not say Jerusalem is Israel's capital. Your recent editing history at Judo at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done.

Dear @Sportsfan 1234: Thank you for taking a new interest in Judo at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification, an article I've created about two months ago and have been updating and improving ever since. In the past few days, an editor has been disruptively editing the article. Amongst those edits were complete deletion of sections and citations. As you can see, the editor kept deleting sections even when a discussion was taking place, breaking the guidance of WP:BRD If your edit gets reverted, do not revert again. Instead, begin a discussion with the person who reverted your change.. As you are surly well aware, frivolous blanking is a form of vandalism, as is format changing in some cases. Reversions of these kind of edits does NOT fall under the three revert rule, as you surly know. The Editor has been warned three times on their talk page to stop the disruptive editing, but those warnings as well as messages on other talk pages seem to have gone to no avail. Alas.

In summation, thank you for taking an interest in the article and its content. There is no need for you to get involved in the dispute with the disruptor. If the disruptions will return, they will be reported. CLalgo (talk) 23:24, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your honest answer. Restructuring the tables to provide an update on all the judokas competing in Paris 2024 TAKES TIME. Please do not make the editors feel stressed with your issues involving in the dispute. Seriously, it is deemed UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL. We are fixing the articles for CLARITY, IMPROVEMENT, and STANDARDIZATION. Before you make your tactic to get engaged in an edit war, please check first on the changes CAREFULLY. @Raymarcbadz: Seems like most of them have very few articles linking to them, hinting of low notability \ few achievements. I don't know if I'll get to it in the near future, but why won't you do it yourself? CLalgo (talk) 13:23, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
I'll work on these articles during my free time. I also spotted some sailors without their own articles. Thank you! Raymarcbadz (talk) 15:33, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Please, do not try to paint a picture like you are warning me about my edits and not the other way around. As I've warned you [6] on your talk page, that you've deleted [7]. The discussion will be held on the article's talk page. CLalgo (talk) 22:29, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Andrzej Sądej, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Polan.
