Lists

[edit]

Just a note, and it's by no means Wikipedia policy, but I'd like to encourage you to use Google or other search engines to find examples that you could include beyond the immediate one in your mind, when you create a list. We're overflowing with lists with only one entry, and even if they're not your genre of music, it'd be great if you could add a few more examples to List of albums containing a hidden track. Seems like it has a lot of potential, thanks for your effort! Sherurcij 04:22, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your reaction! Of all the new articles and categories I create I have a special intention to elaborate them. I decide mostly to publish straight away, even if the article is still in an embryonic stage. I also think that the article List of albums containing a hidden track has potential. Thanks for your additions! Brz7

Portal:Netherlands

[edit]

English Hi could you please change the name of the portal "Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Netherlands" to "Portal:Netherlands" because every country and other portal starts with the word "Portal:..." e.g. Portal:Ireland. (I can't change it because I'm not a member on the English Wiki) Thanks in advance. Regards, Servien Ilaino

I hereby created "Portal:Netherlands". Thanks for your feedback! Brz7 16:39, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Graag gedaan... ik zal rondvragen of iemand hier nog aan wil meewerken, veel succes verder met de portaal! Servien 17:30, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit]

There are a lot of tiny one-line articles on movies and actors that need a great deal of expansion. One of my pet peeves as well as that the screenwriters rarely get mentioned. Zoe 23:04, September 5, 2005 (UTC)

Indeed, there are still lots of film-stubs. As far as screenwriters is concerned the articles related to the Category:Screenwriters could need a lot more entries, including at least the most well known. List of screenwriters could be made and the screenwriter article could be expanded. I see what I can do, it's definitely a lacuna. I'll start contributing to the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Films and the Portal:Film. Brz7 01:17, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Novels by year

[edit]

We over at WP:NOVELS have been trying to fit the existing novels into categories, instead of having them all lumped into the general novel category; yes it is a bit redundant, but it is a way to break things up and make the novel category more navigable. We are also attempting to categorize novels by genre, but this will take more work. If it would make things easier, it would probably be relatively simple to add the appropriate year as a subcategory to the books by year entry and delete the redundant books by year category within the individual articles. -- Gizzakk 15:56, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Helen Keller

[edit]

In the state you have created it (twice), there is absolutely no justification for the stub The Story of My Life (Helen Keller autobiography) - I have already ensured that what little content it had, has been merged into Helen Keller. Before you attempt to recreate it, I suggest you discuss at talk:Helen Keller whether there is any justification for a separate article about her autobiography. Re The Story of My Life, please note also that the Wiki standard is that autobiography only needs to be linked once. -- RHaworth 18:54, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments. I'll invite others on the talk page to produce a more lengthy article, instead of the stub The Story of My Life (Helen Keller autobiography) . I thought the book, being a notable autobiography, would deserve a separate article. Thanks for correcting the overlinking, had slipped my attention. Brz7 01:53, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rosa von Praunheim and Der Einstein des Sex

[edit]

Thank you for contributing these stubs (I'm surprised we didn't have an article on Rosa von Praunheim before)! I have announced them in the stub section at Portal:Germany/New article announcements. If you create more articles that could be announced there, please do so. Thanks again, and happy editing, Kusma (討論) 23:39, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I'll try to remind to post newly created articles related to Germany on the portal article. Best regards, Brz7 23:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this definition a tautology? Do you think that this article can be expanded to become encyclopedic? The category of non-alcoholic beverages appears to serve this purpose, rather than the article. I think that a researcher would want more detail concerning this topic, or the difference is so basic as to not require any further explanation.  (aeropagitica)  (talk)  22:24, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your reply! I just replaced Non-alcoholic drink with this article since the category I created some time ago (Non-alcoholic drinks) was renamed to Non-alcoholic beverages. I haven't yet spend time to make the current article more comprehensive, but I think the article can have potential, being the opposite of alcoholic beverage. Best regards, Brz7 22:37, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: You (Kumi Koda song)

[edit]

Hello! Since You (Kumi Koda song) has only one history item, you should be able to move You (song) to You (Kumi Koda song) without problem, overwritting it. To do it, go to You (song), and click the move tab that is next to history. You will end up here. Now, in the To new title: textbox, write the name of the new page (in this case, You (Kumi Koda song)) and write an explanation in the Reason box. Click Move page, and it should move the page and create a redirect from You (song) to You (Kumi Koda song). Then, just redirect You (song) wherever you want. If it asks you confirmation to overwrite the old page, just click Ok, Yes, or whatever the option to overwrite is.

If you need more help, I can do it. However, it is better if you do it yourself, to learn and prevent more involuntary mistakes. -- ReyBrujo 15:23, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ReyBrujo, thank you for your help! In the end I needed an admin to move the article since I already had created the You (Kumi Koda song) article, so now I know this too :) Best regards, Brz7 22:23, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Conceptual Jungle page moved

[edit]

I moved your article WikiProject Conceptual Jungle/Geographical adjectives to Wikipedia:WikiProject Conceptual Jungle/Geographical adjectives. WikiProjects should be in the Wikipedia namespace, not the regular namespace. Actually, I'm sure you probably knew this already, since Wikipedia:WikiProject Conceptual Jungle is already there, so it may have been an oversight. An article that you worked on

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Autoluminograph, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Zazzer 22:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An upcoming "battle" on the War Portal that you might be interested in

[edit]

Hi Brz7, I just edited the War Portal intro in a way that I know will be controversial, and I may need your help to make the edit stick. I added an image and discussion about ant-wars to the portal intro section at the War Portal, but already the info has been deleted once. I think my edit adds a bit of well needed perspective, and even levity to the page. When I reverted the deletion, I inserted the edit-comment, "see discussion". You can see how I justified my revert at the War Portal Intro Section Talk Page. I am asking for the possibility of your future assistance with this upcoming debate, because I noted your concern that the War Portal seemed to be almost advocating war, and seemed unbalanced. If you don't mind, I will keep you posted if and when the upcoming debate about the relevancy of the ant-war material on the War Portal page gets going. Thanks,

-Scott P. 13:44, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to add to it or to use it to add info to the article if you like. Also, any suggestions you may have would be wonderful. "Delete this article!" hasn't really been all that helpful, if you know what I mean... Wrad 22:30, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Portal:Film/Featured picture, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Portal:Film/Featured picture is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Portal:Film/Featured picture, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Poing.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Poing.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:58, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject:Conceptual Jungle/Geographical adjectives

[edit]

Hi there.

Was cruising through and found to my horror, no mention of Australia (we are not only a country but an entire Continent to boot!!!). Could also suggest the terms "Asia-Pacific" and "Australiasia" - both terms in common use in Australia and New Zealand to describe our region.... there are probably more but just though I'd point out the oversight without arbitrarily adding or editing your Projects work... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Akitora (talkcontribs) 04:10, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Token Entry

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Token Entry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 23:00, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Oda Jaune

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Oda Jaune, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Notability not established.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. لennavecia 20:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Poing.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Poing.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:53, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Delayed release (film), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Delayed release. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:19, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Non-alcoholic beverage until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Cocoaguy ここがいい 16:43, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article About page has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article now exists on Wikitionary and simply isn't needed here

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mario Teguh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page S-1 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:05, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Traffic offence

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Traffic offence. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Moving violation. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Moving violation – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. --Non-Dropframe talk 12:11, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Moombah!

[edit]

Hello Brz7,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Moombah! for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hello, Brz7. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Fragmentary novel, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Magnification standard moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Magnification standard, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Brz7. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, Draft:Magnification standard.

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it. — JJMC89(T·C) 04:31, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Willbb234 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Strawberry juice, for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criterion. The particular issue can be located in the notice, that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

But, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the raised issues. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Willbb234}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
