Nomination of Begum Zari Sarfaraz for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Begum Zari Sarfaraz is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Begum Zari Sarfaraz until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

You probably want to make more substantial content additions, even when adding a stub. If you add content, then when reviewing the deletion nomination it will be taken into account. --RichardMills65 (talk) 04:26, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, User:RichardMills65, I shall make additions as I go along, as I have done in other cases too. This article is just a stub and will expand in time, please dont worry. Researching, then organising and finally writing, takes some time, and I always try to do a good job of it. Thank you for your notice. I have just seen your various notes at RSN, WT:INB et per the thread linked to above. Good stuff: you are doing all the right things. - Sitush (talk) 17:06, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you dear User:Sitush I am but only learning, and made some pretty big mistakes myself in the process. But I feel that the quality of research should be high for articles and I have seen and noticed that many of the WP Pakistan articles (assuming good faith but lack of guidance) relating to historical people and tribes. communities etc tend to become mere 'praise forums' with little or no objective content and sources. If somehow we could just improve these areas we that would be a quantum leap forward. RegsAsadUK200 (talk) 17:11, 2 May 2012 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

Making mistakes is fine provided that you learn from them. I know the feeling re: community stuff, being one of a small group of people who have spent much of the last year cleaning out puffery etc from numerous India-related caste articles. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sadia Hayat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Ways to improve Bernard Gufler

Proposed deletion of List of Chaplains, St Luke's Church, Abbottabad

[edit]

The article List of Chaplains, St Luke's Church, Abbottabad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a notable position, a list of (mainly) non-notable persons.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. As to DNA testing, I would be happy to take any test and I hope so would you. I do know for sure my own ancestry and pedigree as a Khwaja (Central Asian with later Kashmiri admixture) but I am sorry but I feel that you have some issues with accepting yours. I dont know any specialists here in Pakistan who are reliable but if you are willing to spend US dollars or so, we can always test your deep ancestry (Y Mithrocondrial) from reputable labs in the USA . Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:14, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bossing around

[edit]

Since when have you assumed the role of a boss here and asking me what is my problem ... Is it like Wikipedia is interested in knowing who your relatives are .... you cannot intimidate people here rather nowhere... what i added to certain pages that are your only interest to be here on the forum wasnt with malafide intentions. Just know that these pages are being used by some members of this family in a manner you wont consider appropriate yourself. I understand you must have gone through alot to make these pages but atleast listen to others while they speak may be they arenot doing things with bad intentions as you believe always. Similarly the renowed writer scholar poet Omer Tarins family is using these pages in the manner I mentioned above even claiming that people in whole Hazara and Chach were their riyaatis and rather they still are also claiming they have spent fortune on the people of Hazara which I hope you understand leads to nothing else but building up a portfolio for seeking donors. Moreover coming back to the topic his work listed as references cannot be found or verified over internet so why do you want all to believe it is the best article on Wikipedias wall.

My dear Azmarai76, I havent the foggiest idea what youre harping on about, but I shall check. Nor have I 'bossed' you at all, only advised you against obvious vandalism. I also don't see , so far, any evidence for some of the claims you are making here. If you have any firm proof of the claims that some people are misusing any pages for any reasons, or making any false claims about something, do share this please. I also am not aware of any claims anywhere that the people you mention are seeking or attracting any donors or spending fortunes etc. Could you please explain/elaborate further, in detail , with documentation/proof? That would be helpful for me to cross check against facts. Thanks AsadUK200 (talk) 23:31, 13 November 2017 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

Vandalism by this Weaver

[edit]

This Kashmiri weaver has badly vandalized a Pedigree Table given on Pashtun. Possible reason is :-

Jealousy ( as he is a weaver himself)

Trying to list astanadaar Kakakhels who are syeds to the list of Pashtun Tribes and also Awans who are Hindkees.

He has vandalized many pages of different Pashtun tribes without even knowing how the Pashtun society is made where no tribe is considered better than other. Azmarai76 (talk) 16:39, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Swati (Pashtun tribe), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Torwali (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your biased sockpuppeteering on the page Nawab malik amir mohammad khan

[edit]

Well mr asad it can be clearly seen that you want to start an edit war all the material you removed has valid sources and has been put there after exhaustive research discussion on the talk page and by the way who are you to remove somebody heriditary title this is in the wiki coi department if you have an inferiority complex than dont deal with it with such vandalisim either give solid sources and discuss on the talk page.I am restoring the previous non vandalised edit next time you will be reported if you show such unprofessionalism and childish behavior Yoohooyoo (talk) 20:32, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yoohoohyoo hello. Thanks for your note. I dont want to start any edit war or anything, so please, no need to be offensive or aggressive here. I dont know what you call 'historical research' but some sources that you cited were not valid or acceptable by Wikipedia standards; and as far as I know the Maliks of Kalabagh were never ever given any 'hereditary' title of 'Nawabs' by anyone. Late Malik Amir Muhammad Khan's father was given the honorary title as a personal distinction for war recruitment services and assistance during the World War 1 period and you cannot change or hide facts. However, I will not argue with you. Please report me if you will as I am not a 'childish person', I am a senior citizen and I have read and researched my share of history of South Asia over the last 30 years or more and I am not a vandal. As to the 'inferiority complex' , again, I will not enter into any sort of argument with you re who is complexed or not. I do believe you need to calm down and behave maturely and learn to write decently and respectfully and also, please, read/refer to the Wikipedia methodology for dealing with editorial differences- supposed to be carried out in a civilized and urbane way. Regards and many thanks AsadUK200 (talk) 22:11, 4 December 2019 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

I have the same question for you regarding Talokars and Khattars AsadUK200... you shouldn't act as a child anymore. I agree with the user above. Seems like throughout South Asia after all your research you have picked up serving one family . But vandalism also includes removing sources like Baburnama, Alamgirnama and Ayeen I Akbari with online access links given for any reader to check which you did shamelessly at Swatis page.If you didn't quit it I will be at Omar's place at Jhangi for settling the matter as deemed fit by other friends of different tribes carefully watching your activities even at Tea house. If you are a senior citizen it's a chance for you to pray instead of protecting titles as Khan Bahadur, HE, Nawab for a few people. I hope you will realise what you are taking this to now. Regards Azmarai76 (talk) 20:38, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr Azmarai, I dont know who you are and what you have against me personally, you seem to have been insulting me a number of times berore, too? And why are you connecting me to anyone either Talokars or Khattars etc or trying to make threats and /or also vandalising various researched and well structured articles on Wikipedia? Do you have some personal issues with these people or families or whatever? I am not 'serving' anyone . In fact, since your rather vulgar threats I have stopped editing generally as it seems that there are more and more vandals and such who are now ruining editorial work on South Asian articles. They edits you refer to by me, on Swatis page was for proper rediting purposes as the material was not cited properly nor enlisted as per Wikipedia regulations. You are talking about these but without any proper understanding of the same. As to my age and status as a senior citizen, who are you to tell me what to do ? Do you own Wikipedia betay? This is an open edited wikie, it is not an encylcopedia like the Brittanica etc, that is only used or edited by some few people. If you can use it so can I, or anyone esle within the bounds of decency and maturity. Please carry out your discussions in a civilised way. Thanks AsadUK200 (talk) 21:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok Beta keep undoing and removing tags as you have been doing even traveling. Azmarai76 (talk) 13:11, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive Editing

[edit]

Thanks but I will tell you this much if you didn't come out of doing vandalism on other pages like Pashtuns, Mashwanis, Tanolies, Swatis and even on that of Nawab Ameer Muhammad Khan of Kalabagh out of your ignorance or stubborn behavior, it's a good lot ready to fix and correct the facts on your pages. I hope you get paid well to do all this by generating contents on free websites that serve as citations and references here at Wikipedia. Azmarai76 (talk) 14:24, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The pages that are your concern here: Talokar village, Abdul Majid and others like these.... All I ask for them is very simple proper verifiable links... you need to understand the fact that if a person picks a reference from Wikipedia and doesn't even find the material relevant to that place or person in the book that's been quoted as a reference what would he feel like.... You may please also make yourself aware of the modern anthropology and local tribal norms or if you don't not my problem. We don't have animosity with anyone but only a tribal knows a tribal well. Something that's inborn, if one is born in that society and not otherwise. If I tell you even the terms Pathans, Afghans and Pukhtuns aren't interchangeable but many people wouldn't know because this area's historiography was collected very late and that too by Khateeb Corps. Mullah in the British times. These Mullahs would normally be as good as vassals to these tribes. 1. When was Talokar invaded by Afghans that led to eviction of Talokars??

2. If links serving as references on biography page of a personality are on inauthentic free website page, is that what Wikipedia standard allow?? Specially when they don't even work anymore???

3. As I see you value colonial work in higher magnitude and at times me too, but do you know when exactly was upper parts of NWF Province surveyed??

4. Why did a British colonial scholar otherwise considered as linguist term Dangerik a prakarati language same as other iranian languages, seems like they were too much banking upon Khateeb Corps. for information collection.

5. I left you a message before also that where exactly has it been reported that a personality from Hazara was on campaign with another Free fighter or that's mere speculation.

6. We aren't college kids and have better things in life to do but such activities were done by certain people over other social media websites also and it was being done since internet was earlier introduced in Pakistan. We took good deal of time to give such people a feel that please others exist, maybe they weren't needing colonists on their side but it was because they were way stronger than you in terms of manpower, land and cattles..... I hope if you just fix the pages that you are always concerned about and keep the things to facts and by facts I mean not just internet but the real world none would have a problem. For now I will leave your pages to you to see your intellect that I trust otherwise just remember these words, " it's not known how these people came to limelight living since very long amongst landowning gujjars".

7. The quoted statement has a hidden meaning and these get more understandable for a person who's a student like me. Azmarai76 (talk) 15:15, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Onething more Afghans, Pathans, Pukhtuns and their to a little extent Allied races also haven't got their pedigree tables recorded under resettlements carried out Hastings, Wace and others out of fear of losing chunks of their lands and would try to look as one and the pages you are concerned about state exactly opposite of what others of the same community have always stated and got it recorded. Regards, we are group of mature people it's just we don't list our work on Wikipedia and Facebook so please think if a person is asking for references time and again there would be a reason. Azmarai76 (talk) 15:38, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User Azmarai76, thanks for enlisting your concerns. I think I agree with most of what you say but the fact is, for many secondary reliable sources prior to late 1990s (even newspapers and magazines etc) the net links are not always available so citing of secondary sources is deemed permissible. These citations can be checked with the paper records/archives of various publications. Secondly, as you rightly point out, there are gaps in the histories of several areas of Hazara and NWFP generally and these may be addressed with further research; and also, I agree with you that historical accounts of various tribes also vary about many events and all. So, we can only rely on available (as reliable as possible) sources , such a published books, accounts etc. Apart from Wace and Hastings and 1870s records, and later district Gazetteers, there are also records and sources available at government archives and records in both Lahore (as NWFP/KP was part of Punjab before 1901) and Peshawar and some of these gazette and GGO references are reliable too, although not the primary sources . I have been trying to utilise maximum such sources and the editorial work continues on Wikipedia, its ongoing, various revisions are made , and it is not a fixed or static encyclopedia (as I think i mentioned earlier too) like others. We can always give notes and citations to further develop and balance out various articles and I am sure they will benefit from such more balanced editing. There is, please, no need to be aggressive and to fight , as we are all mature editors here. Many thanksAsadUK200 (talk) 05:23, 8 January 2020 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

AsadUK200: Thanks but I have spent a good deal of time at Archives at Peshawar and Lahore, not because I am some big scholar or wanted my back broken in that office just because it was my bread and butter. I still have come to fix these pages from KP after someone told me to fix to avoid things getting out of Wikipedia. I left you many notes very humbly that these pages need to be toned down and properly referenced. If someone e.g has remained Ist class magistrate he must've been 'prominent', No part of Hazara ever hand any Jatt Goth but kindred Gujjars. A Jemadar isnot always a 'native commissioned officer'. Similarly, an orderly has never been ' personal orderly officer' ,a sufi isn't a 'mystic' as a sufi doesn't claim he is one only a mystic does. I amnot giving out complete details here and would leave these pages as these are but they aren't educational. Regards Azmarai76 (talk) 10:54, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Azmarai76, I am sorry but I am totally at loss why you keep on harping away about the same stuff, about Gujjars and Jatts and so on? What have these topics to do with the work I am doing on articles here ? Why do you seem to be always making snide and personal attacks and cant you comment and give positive feedback? Do you have something personal against me ? Who are you and what is your problem please? If you have any problems with the language of articles you are welcome to edit these. If you wish to add reliably sourced references to these you are also welcome, I have explained to you many times that , I dont own any pages I am only working on my areas of interest for some time and it is all essentially ongoing work still. I am always willing to discuss work here sensibly and rationally and politely please. AsadUK200 (talk) 20:45, 11 January 2020 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

Good that's the spirit... Regards Azmarai76 (talk) 16:57, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
