The murder of Mohamed Joune was a murder that took place in Germany in early January 2019 where a Syrian man critical of Bashar al Assad's government was murdered with an axe. Joune, who lived in Hamburg, was a pharmacist and also the head of Union of Syrians Abroad. Acquaintances who have spoken to the press have said they believe he was killed for his political activism.[1]
Victim
