The Livingston Theatre Company (LTC) is a student organization based on the Livingston Campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey. All undergraduates, regardless of their school at Rutgers, at open to apply for a production staff management position (such as stage manager, director, choreographer), apply to an open General Board (such as marketing director or box office manager), audition for a show, or help with the show as a member of the tech team building sets or being in the run crew. The company produces three full length musicals in an academic year, and several other events involving the local community. The three mainstage shows are put up in Livingston Hall of the Livingston Student Center after a rehearsal process of about six to eight weeks.[1] The company is governed by an Executive Board of four members and a General Board of varying numbers all of whom are nominated and voted upon by the company members.
Season
[edit]The company's constitution states that three mainstage shows shall be performed each year. This year those three shows are The Wild Party, Into the Woods, and Hairspray[2]. The Wild Party went up as the fall semester show, and Into the Woods and Hairspray both go up in the spring semester opening March 3rd and April 14th respectively. While the cast, staff, and crew overlap for each show, there are many new and returning members involved in each show. Information about past and current shows including Rent, The Wedding Singer, and The Who's Tommy can be viewed on the Past Shows page of the LTC's website.
Management Structure

In addition to the Executive Board, or EBoard, there is a General Board (aka Gen Board) that consists of a varying number of members. The positions to be filled are: Director of Marketing, Director of Development, Director of Special Events, Historian, House and Box Office Manager, Techincal Director, Outreach Director, and Member At Large[3]. This is the minimal positions that need to be filled according to the companies constitution, but the GenBoard normally consists of all the above plus multiple members at large and a web developer.
