Topic ban from medical articles
[edit]Hi again. Per the most recent ANI report (diff), you are now indefinitely topic banned (WP:TBAN) from medical articles, broadly construed). Ping me here if you have any questions. The sanction has been logged at WP:RESTRICT. Thanks. El_C 13:58, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- @El C: is it possible to appeal the topic ban in the future? The reason I’m asking is because I have seen people appeal topic bans at AN.CycoMa1 (talk) 14:10, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
Hello again, I just learned of the topic ban at FTN but also saw your replies there. Just a notice that it's probably best not to pursue the discussion there, to avoid violating the topic ban (and FTN is not the place for an appeal, of course). —PaleoNeonate – 23:15, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- @PaleoNeonate: that’s why I decided to ask an admin.CycoMa1 (talk) 00:02, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
CycoMa1, I'll preface this by saying that I am not comfortable discussing sex with minors. I do not have a professional background in that area. But, if you were an adult, I'd tell you that the ban allows you discuss any non-clinical facets of sex, like, say, the adult industry or the legal status of sex work (John Oliver ftw again, same ep). On the other hand, lots of anthropology stuff, for example, is likely to skirt the line of WP:BROADLY, if not cross it (depending on variables that would be difficult to predict). HTH. El_C 11:31, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
- I know, I saw the link. You are not banned from the page, as mentioned, the prohibition would be about its medical aspects. El_C 13:07, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

I’m back/announcement
[edit]Hey guys I am back from my long break. I took a long break to re-evaluate myself and do handle things like school or work.
But anyway I decided for now on, I will only edit Wikipedia on weekends and during the summertime. (Since not all of you people are from the United States summer is typical between May and August.)
Also, I put this up to discuss some things y’all here.CycoMa1 (talk) 12:52, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I may change my schedule to be a weekend only editor.CycoMa1 (talk) 04:26, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

Theroadislong (talk) 13:18, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of Sphagnum contortum
[edit]A tag has been placed on Sphagnum contortum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 19:48, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Missvain (talk) 03:44, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Article: Hermaphrodite, un-sourced claim
[edit]I read both references in the article Hermaphrodite that refereed to the text "with some biologists saying hermaphroditism cannot occur in humans.", I read them completely. There was no mention at all about it not being possible. It did mention that it has not happened before though. After I made the edit deleting the uncited claim (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hermaphrodite&diff=next&oldid=1097352988) you promptly reverted it back. These citations are 11 ("Phelan J (2009-03-02). What Is Life?: A Guide to Biology w/Prep-U. Macmillan. p. 243. ISBN 978-1-4292-8079-2.") and 12 ("Mills A (2018-01-01). Biology of Sex. University of Toronto Press. p. 309. ISBN 978-1-4875-9337-7."), if you read both these pages you will see that there was no mention at all about it not being possible. As a compromise, I have put a citation needed this time (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hermaphrodite&diff=prev&oldid=1097354908). Jacob81 (talk) 08:21, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Modern Meadow review request
[edit]Hi there, I proposed some updates to the page about biotech company Modern Meadow, and I think this might be of interest to members of the Biology WikiProject. I see you’re a member of that project who has been actively editing things on Wikipedia during the last six months, and I was wondering if you might be willing to take a look at them? The proposals address the concerns of a flag posted on the article. I have a COI and don’t want to violate Wikipedia rules by editing the page myself. Thanks very much for your time.
