Naming

[edit]

I suggest we rename the article to Inner City of Baku , the real name is Icheri Seher meaning Inner City, it would also be easier to coordinate. Neftchi (talk) 21:14, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would also like to do so, but what I have noticed in most expat literature (e.g. newspapers) here in Baku, as well as in Azerbaijan International that Icheri Sheher is known as Old City abroad and to Baku's English speaking community. "inner city baku" brings 114,000 results [1], while "old city baku" 1,080,000 [2]. However, I don't know about scholarly literature, how do they refer to Icheri Sheher? Tone issues

[edit]

Article has numerous issues with it's tone - I don't think it's to the level of needing an NPOV tag, but language like "walls which were easily defended" or "widely accepted" need to be cleaned up Box Article (talk) 07:57, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
