1970 election
[edit]Hello, I have detailed returns (here) from the Election System of the US Virgin Islands showing that Ron De Lugo was elected "Washington Representative" as early as 1970, however, this page states that the congressional district wasn't established until 1973, and the source listed on the page only dates back to 1972. How should this be mentioned on the page? Longestview (talk) 22:08, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

United States Virgin Islands's at-large congressional district → United States Virgin Islands' at-large congressional district – Normalize plural possessive like we did at Northern Mariana Islands' at-large congressional district Dicklyon (talk) 21:48, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. "Islands" is plural, unlike, say, "Massachusetts". Station1 (talk) 22:01, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and Station1. This article was created in January 2007 and the possessive apostrophe for its main title header has been unilaterally moved back-and-forth three times since then. The discussion will at least provide a record of the arguments and some form of consensus in case the matter is revisited. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 23:08, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support: "United States Virgin Islands" is nominally plural and therefore the proposal is aligned with MOS:PLURALNOUN. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:57, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Note: This was a contested technical request: permalink, for reference. Adumbrativus (talk) 08:40, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
