This article deals with Wikipedia equity gaps

[edit]

This article specifically discusses a topic related to historically underrepresented populations.Coltonjohnson2 (talk) 17:29, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any non-Western perspectives on this topic? So far, there are only Western sources (France, Canada, USA), which implies that Queer Ecology exists only in the Western world. Have these ideas been applied in other places with a substantial LBGQT presence? Grackling (talk) 21:20, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh my lord fringe

[edit]

I’m surprised by how much fringe was in this article. Hey Crossroads thanks for removing that fringe claim about sexual selection.CycoMa (talk) 15:26, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Critique

[edit]

This talk is a critique created for an assignment from a class.

The lead section is short and solid, it gives a clear overview of the topic. The content is out of date and unbalanced. The history section spans nearly 40 years, but there is only four short paragraphs. It also doesn't really talk about the history, but rather the foundational texts of which Queer Ecology is based on. While I can see how this could be considered the history, there is nothing about the events that unfolded in-between the creation of each text, when the term "queer ecology" was actually coined and put to use, or any events past 2015.

The content is mostly reliable and understandable, but there is a few sections with little to no citing. Although understandable, the content often feels unconnected to queer ecology. There are many instances where texts or medias are referenced and summarized, but its actual connection to queer ecology is missing or unclear.

The definition section incredibly confusing. I understand the concept of queer ecology from the lead section, but the actual definition section left me confused. There are a-lot of groups/topics listed creating a giant sentence with grammar issues, so by the time the reader gets to the end it is unclear what the definition actually is.

Other than the content itself lacking, the writing is pretty well done, there just needs to be better connectivity through out the piece. The references seem to be solid. There is a wide variety of resources used from various sources and voices. S5lewis13 (talk) 07:49, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
