Difference to the Young's Modulus?
[edit]What is the difference between the P-wave modulus M and the Young's modulus E? They seem to be the same thing to me...--Polis Tyrol (talk) 13:08, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- AFAIK, Young's modulus applies to the unconstrained case (i.e. sideways deformation is possible), while the longitudinal modulus applies to the constrained case where the material is only deformed in one direction (hence the name). --Schlosser67 (talk) 07:38, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
