first female head of government

[edit]

would an absolute monarch like Ulrika Eleonora not be considered Sweden's first female head of government (prior to her becoming a constitutional monarch). — Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlesViBritannia (talkcontribs) 14:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is noted in the first paragraph, but maybe it should be repeated: "Andersson would have been Sweden's first female head of government since universal suffrage was introduced in 1921." (note the "since universal suffrage") 185.169.74.70 (talk) 16:48, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, it is noted in many news articles that she was Sweden's first PM. See https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-86359733. Jurisdicta (talk) 05:26, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If were taking obama's article. It should be laid out in front of the article, ie obama first african american was mentioned on top but her gender is neglected her. 125.165.108.8 (talk) 06:54, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Appointed by Carl XVI Gustaf?

[edit]

Regarding the sentence: "On 30 November, Andersson and her government were appointed by King Carl XVI Gustaf.", Carl XVI Gustaf's page indicates that "As a result, he no longer performs many of the duties normally accorded to a head of state, such as the formal appointment of the prime minister", which seems like an inconsistency. Could someone with more knowledge of how the Swedish system works clear this up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hmrmaxwell (talkcontribs) 07:17, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, kind of but not really appointed by the King. The change of government takes place at a Council of State headed by the King who announces that the new government has taken over, Riksdagen: Forming a government, but the Riksdag appoints the PM. I think it could be rephrased but I can't come up with a better text right now. Sjö (talk) 08:54, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Her first name

[edit]

I think we should remove Eva as her first name till we have a solid primary or secondary evidence, rather than stray news mentions (who I suspect mentioned so after seeing it on Wikipedia), Google searched didn't help me sadly to find a sufficient source https://www.google.com/search?q="Eva Magdalena Andersson" https://www.google.com/search?q=eva magdalena andersson site:government.se Appu (talk) 08:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've inserted the reference to the Swedish population register that the Swedish wikipedia uses. While I obviously don't have a CD-ROM from 1990 handy, you can easily corroborate the information on other sites that make use of the data, e.g. ratsit.se. Hope that helps. Lead Image RfC

[edit]

Which image looks better for the infobox? I'm favoring option A because it has a better quality and focus on Andersson. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 11:22, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

She looks the same in every photo, so why argue? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 16:17, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Option C is better where she looks into the camera. --Marbe166 (talk) 17:07, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
