Microsoft Lumia → Lumia (smartphones) – At this point the Lumia line of smartphones is dead. This means, for the purposes of WP:NAMECHANGES, relatively recent sources talking about this topic will be describing the smartphone line in retrospective terms, with roughly similar usage for either "Nokia Lumia" or "Microsoft Lumia". Throughout most of its period of existence (late 2011–early 2016), the line of smartphones was branded "Nokia Lumia"; the line was only rebranded "Microsoft Lumia" in late 2014. In addition, the best-selling Lumia devices are branded "Nokia Lumia". Google Trends data for the past 12 months suggests much higher popularity for "Nokia Lumia" than "Microsoft Lumia" in both worldwide and the US. This shows that the name "Microsoft Lumia" fails WP:RECOGNIZABILITY. feminist (talk) 17:03, 28 November 2019 (UTC) —Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:23, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
- Move to Nokia Lumia. Same rationale as above, but I believe "Nokia Lumia" to be the outright common name. O.N.R. (talk) 22:24, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Nokia and Microsoft are distractors here, not useful. Dicklyon (talk) 05:53, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:NAMECHANGES. "Microsoft Lumia" is the most recent name of the subject, and the one used by recent sources unless they're talking specifically about the old Nokia-branded models. "Nokia Lumia" is, appropriately for a previous name of the subject, a redirect. Proposed title also fails at least two WP:NAMINGCRITERIA - naturalness (due to using parenthetical disambiguation when a naturally disambiguated title is available) and consistency (consider Microsoft Surface, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Google Nexus, Sony Xperia, Motorola Moto - adding manufacturer name is the norm). Indrek (talk) 07:15, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- I agree that adding the manufacturer name is the norm, but Nokia is the manufacturer of the majority of Lumia smartphones, and for most of their existence. Other than Sony Xperia, none of your examples of [manufacturer name branding] involved other manufacturers. feminist (talk) 15:05, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- All of those examples except Sony Xperia involve disambiguation, though, just like Lumia, so it makes sense to use natural disambiguation here as well. As for Nokia vs. Microsoft, I don't think the number of devices manufactured or sold trumps WP:NAMECHANGES. That said, we should probably discuss one rename proposal at a time. Indrek (talk) 18:07, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- Another problem with the proposed title is that the Lumia series includes a device that is not a smartphone - the 2520 tablet. Indrek (talk) 11:16, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
