Sports career
[edit]"He pursued a career in professional sports and played for both the Philadelphia Yellowjackets and the St. Louis Cardinals. Davis achieved an 11–2 record before an injury ended his baseball career after playing one season."
Something is very wrong here. The St. Louis Cardinals were both a baseball team (still existing) and a football team (moved to Arizona), entirely separate but using the same name. I believe that Karl Davis played football, not baseball. One doesn't say that a football player has an "11-2 record" but baseball pitchers have won-lost records like that. In football the record is the team's record and doesn't belong to an individual. As an aside, I suggest that his movie and TV appearances should be described as "thug" instead of "henchman."
I also found this gem: "In the USA, which is the birthplace of this barbaric struggle, the meetings of ketchists are even more brutal. Before us is the American sports magazine Ring. One of the pages depicts a bloodied wrestler with a face distorted from rage, clutching the hair of a defeated opponent. There is an indifferent signature under the picture: “The murderer Karl Davis, with his face covered in blood, asks the referee for permission to “tap” the opponent.” It is known that Davis did not wait for an answer and realized his intention." The article is generally critical of news reporting in the Soviet Union, including the claim that Russia invented baseball. :-) Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 15:51, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
