"Blow Out"

[edit]

Not even the slightest bit "dubious": http://www.google.com/search?q=blow out hair

What's more likely? These women want their hair blow dried professionally, or they want to look like Pauly D from Jersey Shore?

Hair dryer doesn't even mention blowout, so it's an inappropriate link for this, which is why I marked it as dubious the first time. Blow out doesn't help either. Articles need to be understood by readers and 50% of the population are unlikely to be able to work out what a blow out is from what was in the episode summary so it needs to be explained. I won't get into why women need their hair dried professionally in the first place. What the hell do they do when they've had a shower? --AussieLegend (talk) 10:03, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Temple Fade (hairstyle) is just ludicrous. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean women don't. Ask a woman. I added hair dryer because blow dry goes to something else with an advisory at the top, but use blow dryer if you prefer, even though it again goes to hair dryer. I'm not a woman, and I'd never heard of it before, and I understood immediately from the context within the episode.
No, it's not ludicrous. The text originally said "Melanie's blow out lasts longer than usual. Tension arises between the ladies and the hairdressers at Elka's favorite salon." The most common meaning of blow out is "a sudden loss of air pressure from a tyre", as in "the car crashed because a tyre had a blow out" but that didn't make sense as the very definition of blow out means that they don't last long. The salon link seemed to point to Blowout (hairstyle), which redirects to Temple Fade (hairstyle), as being the most logical link to follow at Blow out. This was before the episode aired, so there was no context within the episode to follow. Readers shouldn't have to watch the episode to understand what the episode summary is saying. --AussieLegend (talk) 12:24, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
