Singapore Surrender.
[edit]The surrender ceremony took place at City Hall. The British admiral who accepted a sword from the Japanese, had it placed in a glass cabinet above the rear bridge entrance. It stayed there until the last trip in 1968. BPs most likely assumed ownership. Brett Hilder (1911-1981) was the ship's last captain, and he has written extensively about its Pacific days. Some accounts claim he had claimed the sword during the last trip.220.244.247.99 (talk) 01:10, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
