Misleading redirect

[edit]

Upon reading the Karin Knorr page, i was curious to see the "epistemic cultures" WP page as a wikilink seemed to suggest a WP "epistemic cultures" page did exist. I then realised it redirected to the Epistemology page, which i find highly misleading. First, the Epistemology page does not even mention once the concept of "epistemic culture" or Knorr's work. Second, it is not surprising, as Epistemology is about philosophers and philosophy, a scientific field which do not regard "epistemic cultures" as a fruitful concept. As a matter of fact, "epistemic cultures" concept relates more to STS or at least to social epistemology than to philosophy, and this redirection is thus highly misleading in terms of perceptions of scientific organisation. I do not know how to do this but it would be an interesting lead (in order to decide where to link it) to check where, in other WP articles, Knorr or "epistemic cultures" appears.Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 15:05, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

edit: after having clicked on "what links here" on Karin Knorr's page, i decided to redirect to Science studies instead of Epistemology as the least misleading link. Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 15:33, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A few years later, I'm on the verge of creating an Epistemic cultures article, so I believe the better redirection will be to that new article.Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 03:07, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
