Removal of references

[edit]

References to a magazine and a TV programme have been removed, see [1]. Why? Following that a POV tag was added, after the deletion. Again why? --Kleinzach 11:43, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PR company

[edit]

I removed a paragraph which criticized Cuadrilla's PR company. The company was described as "controversial" and references were made to some scandal the company has been involved in in the past. Unless a reliable source has linked this controversy to Caudrilla, it's irrelevant to this article and its inclusion constitutes WP:SYNTH. Pburka (talk) 11:44, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PPS Group are involved with Cuadrilla so their reputation is relevant here. Deleting referenced information is a bad practice. --Kleinzach 11:47, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a reliable source which connects the PPS controversy to Cuadrilla? If not, you're drawing original conclusions. Deleting referenced information is perfectly acceptable when it's WP:OR. Pburka (talk) 11:54, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from the Hydraulic fracturing in the United Kingdom article

[edit]

I've moved this sentence from the Hydraulic fracturing in the United Kingdom article. Not sure if it's relevant to this article, but I thought it was best preserved. No idea where it would go in the article.

Cuadrilla has American-Australian-British ownership, though close ties have developed between China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and one of Cuadrilla's backers.[1]

Claims of property damage

[edit]

Hi Unfrackme, I noticed you have added a claim that property was damaged in this edit here, which is not mentioned in the reference which follows (so has failed verification). (see WP:VER for further details. Please can you either provide a reliable source for this, else it will be deleted. Thank you Luther Blissetts (talk) 17:47, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate reference?

[edit]

The company drilled a well and two small earthquakes were caused by its hydraulic fracturing in April 2011. One of the earthquakes was large enough to be felt by some people at the surface[8]

The reference does not support the contention. It supports the first sentence but not the second; suggest it should be moved forward. Xyster (talk) 10:52, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Controversies Section Not Factually Accurate

[edit]

Under the Earthquakes Section, there are three claims made that fracking caused earthquakes and none of them are true.

"…caused by the fracking operation."

"…caused by the fracking operation."

"…caused by fracking Ref bbc news"

There is no proof that fracking caused earthquakes only that earthquakes halted fracking. The third and final claim also has no correctly linked source and is a cite error. This whole section needs cleaning up.

In the Conflict of Interest Section, the claim made also has no correctly linked source and has a cite error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by John10001 (talkcontribs) 15:29, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
