Scott Howie
[edit]Hello - I've put up an article about Scott Howie, who spent a season at Norwich. If any Clyde FC Wikipedians have info about his early career that they could add, please feel free to do so. Thanks. User:Demonicanglian
Dates & dashes
[edit]En dashes should be used in scorelines and only full dates and dates with a day and month should be wikilinked, including in the footnotes. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dashes) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers). Epbr123 20:55, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Albie Murphy
[edit]Hello - I've put up a short article about Albie Murphy, a former Irish international player of the 1950's. If any Clyde FC Wikipedians have info about his early career that they could add, please feel free to do so. Thanks. User:Heshs Umpire —Preceding comment was added at 13:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Fiercest rivals?
[edit]Does anyone have a link to say that Partick are Clyde's fiercest rivals? According to Football Manager 2008 (I know, I'm sad) its Hamilton Accies, while my Dad, who used to visit Shawfield till the seventies, says they hated Rangers most. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Villafancd (talk • contribs) 16:06, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Tone
[edit]The tone of this article is all wrong. It's well written, but it needs to be far more neutral. Currently it is very much written as a fan's account, very opinionated on to Clyde's successes and failures. I've neutralised some of it, but more needs to be done to removed opinions and add cites. There are obviously some very dedicated and knowledgeable contributors here. Could they please attempt to produce an encyclopedia article, and not a fansite.
Just a few examples of what I've noted;
- "After so many attempts and so much heartache the Cup was finally won!" Exclamation marks, rarely ever justified and not neutrally expressing events.
- "Now that Clyde were back in the top flight, could they stay there?" - Addressing the reader with questions.
- "Clyde had saved the day." An opinion , opposing fans may disagree. This is why Wikipedia is neutral on such things.
- "Their greatest triumph is having lifted the Scottish Cup three times, the most recent being in 1958." Whose opinion is this? Wikipedia needs to state the facts and let the reader decide; "Clyde have lifted the Scottish Cup three times, the most recent being in 1958."
- "it's ironic that Barrowfield was originally shared with a short-lived team called, Albatross." In whose opinion is there irony?

French nickname?
[edit]"Apparently some Frenchmen were at Barrowfield around 1900. Upon a disputed goal they cried: "But il'y, oui?" This translates as: "Their goal, yes", but sounds very like "Bully Wee"." - this is obviously a complete load of rubbish, apart from the sheer implausibility of one offhand remark leading to the club's nickname, the French isn't even close to grammatically correct -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 21:25, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Renaming to EK Clyde FC. and move to East Kilbride still happening?
[edit]Are the club still moving to the town of East Kilbride and renaming themselves EK Clyde F.C., as there is now another senior club playing there called East Kilbride FC, who will play in the new Lowland League - the division below Clyde in the new Scottish Football pyramid structure - as well as the junior team East Kilbride Thistle FC.
Has the move from Broadwood been put on hold as a result of this development within the new structure of Scottish senior football?
Dreamweaverjack (talk) 00:35, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
The decision was passed in April 2013 by all owners of Clyde FC who were illegible to vote. The move to in or around East Kilbride will happen and the name change to EK Clyde will also happen. The name change probably won't happen until the club has relocated to East Kilbride or on the verge of moving.
I don't think the club has actually decided where abouts in East Kilbride they will relocate to yet or when they will relocate. There has been alot of speculation in the East Kilbride News the move may not take place until around 2018.
