[edit]How come there is no mention of this, as the song can be heard during the Marvel Comics opening scene? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.9.43.75 (talk) 03:16, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Lyrics
[edit]There is no source for the statement about the lyrics, and I can't find one. If you listen to the a cappella (assuming the one I have is authentic) it sounds very clearly to be "if I will bleed, I will die". I'm deleting this section pending a source.--71.171.67.152 (talk) 02:52, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Everyone, it's "Da ba dee da ba di". It's even in the title. Jeffrey Jey talked about it in an interview. Holiday56 (talk) 17:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes! It is! Everyone's like, "Gee, I think I'll try to find the hidden meeaning of random gibberish! Or better yet, make it up!" Seriously!

- The fact that the misheard/made-up lyrics became so prominent that the lead singer had to address the issue and say that they actually are nonsense seems notable enough to include in the article, providing sources can be found on the prominence of the supposed lyrics. In fact, I came here because I expected some note of this fact, since I was trying to remember what the incorrect lyrics were supposed to be (the "If I were green" version - at one point I know I saw a full verse written out that included that line). I knew these were inaccurate but I also remember them being quite widely spread at the time of the song's popularity. Seems like a reasonable thing to mention in the article, if only to clarify that the words are, in fact, nonsense.
- 71.190.144.146 (talk) 01:55, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Where exactly does Jeffrey Jey refer to the misheard lyrics in interviews, like you say? In my opinion it's more like "How did you came up with the lyrics?" etc. --ChrisHamburg (talk) 05:10, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Where the lyrics translated into English from Italian? Because they're absolutely terrible in English. 67.70.67.193 (talk) 14:56, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Other similar songs
[edit]Would it make sense to make a mention of the song "Sugar" by Flo Rida, as it draws heavily on the elements from this one? What about mentions of other related (similar sounding) songs? Seekr of Truth (talk) 19:10, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Rock Band Network
[edit]Not sure if it's notable but Blue was the first song to be released on the new RBN 2.0 meaning it is the first network song to contain keyboards, it was mentioned on the bands website. 211.30.42.24 (talk) 12:08, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
suicide
[edit]The song is about depression and suicide, "I'm blue" is "I'm sad" and "Daboodeedaboodye" is a sound alteration of the words "In Albudine I will die" a week after this song was released the person who wrote it commited suicide in Albudine. Listen close and you'll see I'm right. What you just listened to was a clever way for a guy to tell people he's depressed and is going to kill himself in a specific place. Scary, huh? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.36.160.143 (talk) 21:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Misheard Lyrics Videos
[edit]There are 2 links in the article for youtube videos that are supposed to be misheard lyrics. I've watched both, and personally I think the links should be removed. The videos are ridiculous as they are filled with "misheard lyrics" that aren't actually misheard at all. Some of the words don't sound anything like the supposed misheard lyrics, and so I think the videos lose credibility. It's just people making videos with randomly chosen lyrics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.97.147.83 (talk) 11:57, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- It is already there: "The song is also used in the films and Loser (2000), Big Fat Liar (2002) and Iron Man 3 (2013), during a flashback scene set in 1999, the year the song was released." Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 03:26, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Inconsistency in release date
[edit]There seems to be some inconsistency in the article concerning the release date of the song. The beginning of the article reads: " It was released in 1999 as the lead single from their debut album Europop (1999)" While the info box for the article reads: Released 1998.

Little editing
[edit]Good evening, I have to edit the Voice. "Blue" is not the highest peak ever reached by an italian song in the USA. "Volare" by Domenico Modugno topped the Hot 100 in 1959. And "Al di là" by Emilio Pericoli also reached number 6 in Billboard Hot 100. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.38.222.92 (talk) 22:55, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

Use of Auto-Tune
[edit]The video The Story of "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65, which includes interviews with the members of Eiffel 65, mentions how Auto-Tune was not used on the vocals. As there is no citation for the statenment on Auto-Tune currently on the Wikipedia page, this YouTube source would be more reliable. The video that can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epnsRRPtoeU&t=1208s
I would assume this Wikipedia page could get a lot of information from this video. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheSturgenator (talk • contribs) 21:15, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
I think the cover art should be changed
[edit]It's for an ultra-rare Singaporean release, which is based on the back cover for the German release. No ones cares about it, so could we change it to something "common" like the original Italian release, the UK release (cover of the current digital issue) or the German issue itself? --TapLover (talk) 02:47, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Rita Ora and Imanbek's Bang Bang

- I couldn't find any reliable sources saying that Bang Bang sampled Blue, and a quick listen of the song doesn't make it apparent. The Axel F sample is quite prominent, though. As the claim doesn't have a citation, I'm removing it. For posterity, here is the removed text:
