Tabas County (Persian: شهرستان طبس) is in South Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Tabas.[3]

History

Tabas County became a part of Yazd province in 2001.[4] The county was separated from the province to join South Khorasan province in 2013.[5]

In 2024, Dastgerdan District was separated from the county in the establishment of Eshqabad County.[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 63,047 in 16,845 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 69,658 people in 19,745 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 72,617 in 22,142 households.[2]
