Course of the operation

[edit]

In the early morning hours of August 8, 1992, more than 700 members of the Croatian "Berbir Battalion" crossed the river and attacked Serbian positions in Bok Jankovac. With strong resistance, but also heavy losses, members of the Croatian army unit crossed the Sava in Bok Jankovac, a suburb of Bosanska Gradiška, and attacked Serbian positions.[3] A fierce fight broke out. The attack was repulsed by Serbian forces with the loss of 16 dead. Serbs managed to defend Bok Jankovac.[4]

Aftermath

[edit]

A Memorial was built for the fallen Serbs in Bok Jankovac, which is visited by delegations of the President of Srpska.
