Yashwant Stadium in Dhantoli

Dhantoli (Marathi : धंतोली) is a neighbourhood of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.[1] It is a densely populated area in central Nagpur, which was historicaly the home of the Treasurer of the Raja of Nagpur and to Marathi Brahmins.[citation needed]

The area has a large number of hospitals, which led to protests in 2013.[2]

Sports and Recreation

[edit]

One of the oldest stadiums in Nagpur, the Yashwant Stadium, located just opposite the River Nag, is located in Dhantoli. The stadium needs restoration, as it is largely unused, and is primarily viewed as a street market center used by locals. Patwardhan Grounds, another recreational zone in the area, is a popular venue for organizing activities such as performance exhibitions, and the circus.[citation needed]
