Christopher Patrick Chung is an Australian actor and singer. He first gained prominence when he appeared in series 9 of Waterloo Road (2013–2014) on BBC One. More recently, he is known for his role as Roddy Ho in the Apple TV series Slow Horses (2022).

Early life

Chung was born to an Irish mother and a Malaysian-born father. His parents met while studying in London.[2] Chung grew up in Mount Eliza, a suburb of Melbourne.[3] He attended Padua College.

Chung first became interested in acting through a school production of Aladdin when he was in Year 6. He participated in acting workshops at St Martin's Youth Theatre and auditioned for singing competitions during his teen years. He began his studies at university, but withdrew. He was 21 when he decided to take an intensive course at the Ward Acting Studio in New York. He then moved to London in 2012.[4]

Personal life

Chung is married to Scottish actress Frances Mayli McCann. They had a traditional Chinese ceremony in Melbourne in 2020[5] followed by a western wedding at Bothy Glasgow in 2021.[6]

Chung is also a qualified personal trainer.[citation needed]
